Title: Ireland Team.
Post by: frankieb on February 02, 2017, 23:05:12 PM

I"m absolutely delighted to be asked by APAT to captain the Ireland Team for the WCOAP 2017 team event in Manchester.

Please contact me here or by pm if you want to be part of the Irish team to play in this fantastic team competition. I would like to name the team in the next few weeks, so lets get those names in, to get the best possible team together to win this title. We have come close a few times so I think this could be our year.

Many thanks to everyone who put their names forward for the Ireland Team.

I"m delighted to announce the following players to represent Ireland in the WCOAP 2017 in Manchester.

BRIAN FREW   I am delighted to have such an experienced player as Brian on the Ireland Team. Brian has been a regular on the APAT circuit since 2008. He has captained Edgworth C.C. since 2009 and won the UK Team Championships with Egeworth C.C in 2013. This is his fourth time to play for Ireland and has won Silver in the 2009 English Amateur Championships, silver for Ireland in the 2013 Home International Championships. He has very good online form with a recent final table finish on the APAT Scottish Championship.

KEVIN O"HANLON   This will be Kevin"s seventh time to play for Ireland. On four occasions he was top points scorer for the team. He has earned six APAT medals in various live and online tournaments for team and individual events such as 2016 WCOAP stud silver, and silver for Ireland in the 2013 Home International Team championships. Bronze in the 2013 WCOAP heads up. Silver for Ireland in the 2015 WCOAP team event. Also bronze in the 2016 European championship.

IAN THOMPSON   This will be Ians third time to play for Ireland and what an asset he has been. Great all round player who loves stud, PLO and holdem, but can play any format of the game with great skill. He has earned four APAT medals with a gold in the 2010 WCOAP stud championship and silver for Ireland in the 2015 WCOAP team event. And also played for the APAT Forum Team in the UK team championships where he took silver in the individual event.
