Hi All,
I"ma newbie who has decided to play my first live event in Luton later this month, forgive this daft question, but do we all need to become members of Luton Grosvenor to get in etc????
Cheers for any help.

Yes you will - remember to take some photo ID with you on the day.

You can pre-register online HERE (http://www.gcasino.co.uk/luton/lutonregister01.php).
This may speed things up when you arrive. As mentioned you will need to take your Passport or Photo Driving Licence with you to "confirm" your registration.

When I joined Luton they said that the pre-registration like this doesn"t speed things up. From what he said this is mainly a marketing gimmick. So as long as I wasn"t misinformed it would be better to avoid this. :)

Hi,
Do you have to go through the same registration procedure for every Grosvenor casino if you are already a member of another? I am thinking of joining the Grosvenor Vic this weekend as it will be my home casino for the Season 2 Regional Championships.

Dunno but the online registration only lists 3 casinos Luton/Blackpool/Manchester.
At APAT Cardiff it seemed to be hit or miss as to whether you had to re-register even if you had already signed up elsewhere.

Not saying you"re wrong Jon, or that you have been misinformed. I have had it both ways at APAT events.
Aspers in Newcastle had my details ready to go on their computers. They just had to see my Licence to see that I was really me. Dublin couldn"t find me on their system (even though, I had printed the registration email)..so I guess it"s pot luck.
As for the marketing, I always make it a point to tick/untick the relevant boxes when filling in ANYTHING online.
If I miss one, I just add them to the SPAM list in my email client and "Robert"s your Father"s Brother".

Yes. You have to register the same in EVERY casino. However you can use the same card for each one :)

So, I have to register as a member of the G Casino in Luton BUT I don"t need another card as I already have one from the Grosvenor Cardiff...right?

It was the person who was doing my membership card for Luton who said it, so it may have been his experience of more like yours in Dublin rather than Newcastle.
I got a new card for Luton even though I already had a Grosvenor card - I assumed it was because of the new branding for the G casinos.

For anyone playing in the Championship - Luton also has a strict dress code of smart casual. They won"t let you in with trainers, ripped jeans, and guys have to wear shirts with collars I think.

I seem to recall seeing this as a possible issue with previous APAT Live events but it came to nothing. I"m waiting for the Player Briefing before packing.... ;D

Live less than a hour away so will be driving to the event. Is there plenty of parking available does anyone know.
Thanks.

There is an NCP Multistorey next to the Days Inn but I have no idea of charges.
Aha....there is this (http://www.themall.co.uk/my-mall/luton/parking.aspx). The Mellson Street site is just round the corner fom the Casino.

you need to join each grosvenor seperate if you are alread a member of a different grosvenor they can get your details from the otehr one (but still bring your id)
luton does have a strict dress code earlier this year they stopped a person in a wheelchair wearing trainers getting in, i had to check i was able to get in wearing a medical boot after injuring my foot
not sure about collars but it does seem likely

Feckin" Style Nazis >:(...Jeez...it"s sort of like they don"t want your money.
I can"t understand their logic sometimes, I"m not going to a nightclub, I"m there to spray me money across a poker table. Does it really matter what the heck I"m wearing? ???
Anyway, I"m sure that applies during "normal" operations but this is an APAT tourney. Perhaps, they"ll weaken.
As I said, dress codes were, allegedly, in force for both Newcastle and Cardiff but I saw frequent "violaters"...I"m still waiting for the Player Briefing.

What about the baseball cap/shades combo. I know it looks silly, but I like to wear it. Is it allowed? (even if the fashion police aren"t keen)

We will establish answers to all of these questions over the weekend and publish a player briefing pack here.
Regards,
Des.

Hi guys n gals,
I have been to the g spot recently (no pun intended) and was told that no hoodies or trainers were allowed. Is this still gonna be the case for this apat event?
I would like clarification on this matter please ;D
-
On the pre-registration thing, I pre-registered via the web site for membership there a couple of weeks before my first visit and they had no knowledge of me when I turned up there so had to do registration at reception.

On a similar note to registering at Grosvernor casinos...
I used to live in Northampton and used to play at the old Grosvenor Luton cardroom. However, I haven"t lived there for a while now and wondered if the new venue transferred all exisiting member details from the previous venue (not even sure if the previous venue still exists but I assume it doesn"t), therefore meaning you wouldn"t have to re-register again?
-
I belive you will have to re-register Garth.

A tip on pre-registering via casino websites...
1. Fill in online registration form.
2. Print a copy of filled-in form.
3. Close web browser - without - submitting the form.
4. To cut out the middle-man, fold print-out in half and place in waste paper basket.*
*For the more security conscious (paranoid), the print-out may be shredded, if you have a shredder.
5. Be prepared to fill in form when you arrive at the casino.
