Title: APAT Awards 2008
Post by: APAT on November 15, 2008, 01:16:54 AM: APAT invites nominations for the annual APAT Awards.

Nominations in the following categories, should be made prior to the end of this month. APAT will shortlist five nominations for each award and members will be able to vote for their choice of award winner during December.

The award categories are:-

1. APAT Player Of The Year*

2. Member Performance At A Non APAT Tournament*

3. Member Performance At An APAT Tournament*

4. APAT Tournament Of The Year

5. APAT Casino Location Of The Year

6. APAT Image Of The Year

7. APAT Forum Post Of The Year*

8. Best Supporting Community Of The Year*

9. Best Online Cardroom Of The Year*

10. Best Poker Magazine Of The Year*

APAT will also be adding a member to the Hall Of Fame, which is a non voting category.

*Award winners in these categories will receive a paid entry to an APAT National Championship event in Season Three.

Stuart (SirPercival) Oliver who cashed in Irish Championship after being down to 1.5k within the first hour of play (AK on K high flop v AA I think it was). I witnessed it first hand as he was at my table. No Forum reports on this I don"t think.

4. APAT Tournament Of The Year

WCOAP for variety of games and duration of tournament (5 days)

European Amateur Team Championship for camaraderie and variety of games (SnGs, MTTs, heads up)

5. APAT Casino Location Of The Year

The service and attitude of the staff at Gala Maybury, Edinburgh during Season 2 Regionals and National was quite special. Fully dealer dealt, hot buffet, well ran and consistently well attended.

6. APAT Image Of The Year

*UPDATE* I agree with Mary Martin"s "Winning Smile" as posted below. If you know Mary and her thoughts on APAT, you"ll know how happy this made her!

Personally I can"t see past PokerStars although I rarely play there. They"re usually first to try new features, the selection of games are the best, the standard of play is prob best (hence me not playing there).

steve coope - won regional points in big fields, numerous Final tables online and was only able to play in one national, final tabling it. Unlike Neil, I do enter pots with him, which explains why I am so far down the rankings

LOL, very true. My phone got stolen out in India so can you send me your number again.

Off to Bristol this afternoon to play in that side event. Will make sure I raise pre flop with 9"s this time!

oh dear.....Member Performance At A Non APAT Tournament - since you"re coming to my game on saturday eck, please don"t be letting your member even think about performing :-)

I"m only wanting to vote in this category for eck but not for the wsop so much as his incredible record in the online games on crypto, I lost count of how many times he won the same tournament this year so long ago i can"t even remember when i forgot, i see someone said 3 times in a week 6 times this year...that"d be about right...incredible record...the lucky £7k or what used to be the $14k....good going and consistency beyond belief, the consistency is why it gets my vote, show me someone else with that kind of record (other than moorman)...and he"s been doing well off line obviously with the wsop, in fact everything he seems to have entered, even made the virgin live tourney final table...if i had the money i"d be staking him...
