Highlander - Top film
Green Mile - Good
Warriors- of its time. Watch it now, and it is not good, but it is in my collection
Forest Gump - Love it
Crash - Great film
12 Angry Men - black and white!

My top 3

1. Pulp Fiction - Nothing had been seen like it
2. Crash - A bit Pulp Fiction ish in its sequencing, and very incomfortable viewing in places.
3. Shawshank Redemption - Predictable choice, but still stands the test of time, will be an all time classic

Other great films that would feature in an extended top ten - Beetlejuice, Heathers, Some Kind of Wonderful, The Whole Lord of the Rings Collection, Reservoir Dogs, Scanners, Departed, oh I could go on and on.

Horror films are great. No matter how stupid you think you are, you know that you would"ve at least tried the light switch when you entered the dark room.

Great film. It uses the concept of being in a different place and the social isolation that we all feel in those times to play with your head.

My fave 3 are all foreign, but of the English language stuff...

Memento - Guy Pierce in back-to-front thriller
Dr. Strangelove - Peter Sellers in apocalyptic tragicomedy
Shawshank - one of the few people who saw this when it came out!

Alien, Jacob"s Ladder, This Is Spinal Tap and Galaxy Quest very close behind...

Had forgotten about Galaxy Quest.

Much better than you would think looking at the trailers. And Sigourney is possibly the best looking woman born in the 40s to boot.

Talking of Usual Suspects, is it possible that "kaiser soze", "iamkaizersoshe" and so on are the most popular poker screen names?  Seems like at the table nearly everybody is Keyser Soze...life imitating art  :D

1. Casablanca
2. Pulp Fiction

There are lot"s of other films that are good, like most of the films already mentioned.

But I can"t think of any other film that really stands out as being definitively better than the rest, so I"ll have to stick with top 2.

in no particular order my top 3 in recent times would be -

Memento - Guy Pierce in the lead role, who would guess that this was a fantastic brain teaser that will have you guessing from beginning to end, and even afterwards.A simple plot,a man looking for the killer of his wife with a twist.

The Departed - violence and bloodshed, excellent cast of actors and a great story line what more could you ask for.

Fight Club - What a cool movie, just one of those films i get drawn into.

Doesn"t even come close to a great film, enjoyed it though. Dodge Ball not great but very funny.
