Title: Party Poker Issues - Am i being unreasonable
Post by: smileriraq on November 27, 2008, 13:53:13 PM
HI Guys

I think im shafted but wonder if you share your thoughts on this

Been looking for a new poker site to play on and after searching a few reviews I tried to register with Party Poker deposited $50 in the account but after seeing the frontend of the site I found it very difficult to navigate, customise and very little vaiety in the games not to mention the level I play at $5 they charge a rake of $1 instead of 50c as most sites do.

Went to withdraw my cash and got a snotty letter from their accounts saying that before I can withdraw my money I have to earn 15% of my deposit in party points

WTF

I could understand it if I was getting a bonus from being there or as a result of a promotion etc but thats really got me riled

so anyhow they started quoting T&Cs (which I know we all read with a fine tooth comb) so it looks ill have to grit my teeth  play the bare minimum games cash out and go elsewhere

so what I want to know

1) Am i being unreasonable to expect to cash out the money I put in

2) Can anyone reccomend any good poker sites

not sure they would have leg to stand on if your really want to get your money back out, but is it really worth the hassle.

too many sites available but main contenders always pokerstars and fulltilt imo

If it"s in their T&Cs, then you"ll have to grin and bear it.  It doesn"t make it right or sensible - and I"m sure the negative feedback from players like yourself on poker forums is going to do them more harm than good.

i always navigate the sites first, check on promotions rakeback etc. i have also found party poker a little poor in terms of games etc.

cant beat full-tilt/stars imo but good standard of players, even at lower levels ipoker network(blue sq seems the best of these) also has a decent array of tournaments/ cash games and there are more fish! ;D

I suppose with the £ being so weak v the $ that you can cash out for a profit if you just leave the money in for a few weeks and dont play.

I fell foul of this recently, so just decided to play and bear it.

This certainly helped ease the pain

graphics ok - easy to work out whats going on,you have the usual options to see bet amounts etc and the site is easy enough to navigate, the six handed cash tables are very fishy also all the way to 25/50,but the sats are the best.I"ve qualified twice there for the irish open twice now the last time [07] they put me up in the Burlington hotel and i had the usual pick ups etc at the airports, but once there i have never met anyone from poker heaven representing them or been given some heaven apparel to wear etc etc unlike stars where you are treated and hosted very well indeed.
At the time i was thrilled to have Phil Laak on my right and the guy was a cool dude but on my left there was a dane who went on to win wsop me 2008 none other Peter Eastgate in hindsight then i didnt think much to his game lol the guy must of improved a heck of a lot in the year after  ;D
