Club Captain

I am pleased to announce that the captain for the Cardiff Poker Club for the season will be Darren Shallis.

Another blatant brag photo obviously  ;D , and the Southern Division appoints another National Champion as a club Captain.  Darren won the Irish National Championship in season 2 and the Western Regional Division.  Overall he finished fourth in the National Rankings.  He was also vice-captain of the Welsh team in the European Team Championships.  A great appointment if I do say so myself.

Oh, and I thought it would be rude to cut Tikay out of the photo.  I don"t think he"s joining the Cardiff Poker Club, but Darren may be on the case.  ;D

Many thanks,

Leigh

That"s better. Must stay off the Southern Comfort, it does things to the eyes you know.

South London FTW.

Perfect place to ask the question.  I"m sure a "local" will be on at some point to help out.

Guys......... You MUST all know a few decent players, getting close up top, but we are being crushed in the numbers game......... MORE players = MORE chances = MORE points...............  All are welcome so in an effort to make sure the title doesn"t get over the border

You can still continue to play and take the cash for a top 8 placing. You just wont be able to earn points.

I wouldn"t worry about the mistake - you"re not the first to make this mistake, and you certainly wont be the last.

You may as well concentrate on your game and try and make it worth your while from a money point of view.

maybe someone can explain how we get 3 points is it a point for each player on the top ten up to a max of 3 or what
Title: Re: Cardiff Poker Club - General Discussion
Post by: lukybugur on June 11, 2009, 08:59:26 AM
Individual Points are added up to give an overall Club Score to a maximum of three players per Club. Winning Club is awarded 3, runner up gets 2 and third gets 1 Point for that Leg.

what i mean is I came 6th Mindman 4th ( i think) and shallis came 2nd so how does the team get 3 points , im not too worried about individual points as I dont play enough tournaments to.

Is it a case of every player at the FT earns his club 3 points up to a max of 3
Title: Re: Cardiff Poker Club - General Discussion
Post by: lukybugur on June 11, 2009, 10:13:24 AM
No. Your Club Members will have earned 5, 7 and 9 points for their finishes which will have tallied up to more than any other club. Your Club therefore gets 3 Points.

Paul,

It"s worth going for the individual points aswell for two reasons.

1.  You are currently in 7th place for Cardiff, 8 points behind the 4th place player.  If Cardiff qualify for the Grand Final, you would be in with a chance of representing them  (Top 4 players qualify from the respective clubs) .

2.  If Cardiff qualified for the grand final and won it, those four players would each get a GUKPT seat, with 20% of any of their winnings split between all points scorers for Cardiff on a pro-rata basis.

So, whichever way you look at it, individual points are good.  And obviously, individual points translates into team league points as Neil has explained above.

We are only halfway through the league, so very much all to play for.

If only I could.   ;D

If I were to play, I would have to stick to the rules and play for Southampton, being where I live now.

Don"t think I would add much to any of the teams anyway.  A lot of quality in this league.  Shame for the Central and Northern Divisions to be playing for nothing when it comes to the Grand Final.    ;)

Hi Team,

I"m unable to make it to the next round of this (Matchday 15), as i"ll be in sunny Vegas.
We still have work to do to make it through to the finals. We need a good turnout for this and the remaining games of the league.
It has been a great team effort so far, with everyone contributing points to the team.  Lets keep it going right to the end.
I look forward to seeing you all at DTD in a couple of week.

Regards

Darren
