Title: Walsall Tournaments on Friday?
Post by: CrizzyConnor on January 15, 2009, 23:47:11 PM
Was just wondering if anybody knew what tournaments or cash games were on offer at the casino on the night before the UK Championship? We"re going to be travelling down on Fri so looking for a game on Friday night at the same casino or any casino close by...

I hear Dusk Till Dawn is close too, does anybody know how far exactly?

I know this is only for January, but normally have the same stuff on each week.

Think might travel through to DTD by the looks of things all local casinos I can find have rebuys on a Fri night, except the £15 Turbo (Bingo) tourney in Walsall...

DTD is less than an hours drive away.

There usual Friday night game is a £75 + £10 Freezeout.

The Isle is a gorgeous casino, with a plush cardroom.  I went when it first opened, but it was all self-deal - so not my cup of tea.  I believe they have dealers now, and that the cash games are juicy.  But with DTD a similar distance from my house I haven"t been back to find out.

Dealers for cash games = yes.

Dealers for tournaments = no.

Think we might hit DTD, I"ll be saving some pennies in the £20+3 Student tournament though as it looks like it"s got the same structre as the £75+10 tourney plus will leave me with some money to play on cash games after I get knocked out, lol, anybody know if they run £0.50/£1 PLO Cash Games @ DTD? Only thing I can see on the website is the mention of a £2/£2 PLO game...

never seen a 50p/£1 plo but am sure they will set it up if you ask (probs be 1/1)

U can sit down at a 1/2 table with 50 quid. Stacks usually vary depending on players

Would probably just sit at a 0.50/1 NLHE table if there was no 0.50/1 or 1/1 PLO tables - don"t think i"d fancy playing PLO with 25 BBs in a 1/2 game. Will probably only be buying in twice at £50 a shot...

Never seen a PLO game under 2/2 @ DTD, but I"m sure they"d put on a 1/1 if there"s demand.

.50/1 NLHE tables are £40 min, £100 max buy-in, with no live straddles.  People complain about the lack of the straddle, but if they want to play that they can move to a 1/2 table imo.

I"ll probably be there on the Friday night as well.  I think a few others will be as well.

buiying it short is not a bad start- done it a few times at dtd when loadsa money on table.

Sat down with 50 quid last time and spun it up to 700

Spin up FTW obv

Kinda skint at the mo so probs looking to keep the buy ins around about £100 or so for the Friday so will probably play the £20 student tourney (do any of you know if this is busy at all?) then have two shots of 0.50/1 NLHE or 1/1 PLO (if can get it running) at £50 a pop ... Spinning it up to £700 would be the goal obviously. lol.

I spun up $200 (at $1/2) to around $2,000 when I was playing cash one night at Sky City Casino in New Zealand last year ... I then decided to play "one more round" before heading on a pubcrawl with everyone, of course I proceded to lose it all in three hands. So if you see me and I have 10 times my original buy in front of me - ask me for a loan, i"m just going to piss it away in my last few hands anyway!

You going down for the tourney or cash games, or both? There"ll be two or three of us probably heading over so should see you down there...

I"m there for the cash games.  Some of the others will be in the £75.

Eck will be drinking wine most probably.

:D  So true!  Probably whilst fleecing people of their money on the 1/2 cash tables again!
