Title: Poker books i've just finished
Post by: LongshanksED on January 24, 2009, 13:59:02 PM
anthony holden - bigger deal
scott fischman - online ace

having never read holdens 1st book - big deal - im gonna hunt it out.

big deal was when holden took a shot at being a poker pro in 1989/90 (were its said in bigger deal he had some success) and in this sequel he is trying to see if he could still hack it almost 20 years later and how tv and internet has changed the face of the game he"s played all his days

online ace isnt really upto much (in fact if it wasnt from the library then i"d probably try to return it for a refund as an unwanted gift) but still is an enjoyable distracting read - it doesnt go into tactics or anything deep but it just reaffirms the different ways to play, how to play (or not) with your frame of mind/time of day etc and that sometimes you will be sucked out on but you just need to roll with it

The First book is great!
Way ahead of its time as far as poker books go and a must for anyone including non-poker players.

as for Scott Fischman - No Comment - i haven"t read it! ;D

I"m Reading Caro"s Book of Tells at the mo!

Yes "kidpokers" chapter is amazing and eye opening,

iv just finished phill gordons little green and blue books. The little blue book is brilliant, its so entertaining. Similar to harrington on holdem vol 3.
