Hello everyone, we have a top class APAT field assembled, so let"s have your top three picks.

To add some competition*, if anyone at home names two of the finalists, from your three picks, we"ll give you an option to purchase a seat at the Welsh Amateur Championship before the clickfest!

* One entry per member.  You cannot enter another member.  Your three picks have to be submitted before 5pm on Saturday and any posts that have been modified are disqualified.

Okay, here"s some insider knowledge.

James "Eck" Eccles was last seen trying to get into the Premier Inn at about 5:30 this morning after a night of trying to bluff the unbluffable.

I will be on tilt for the rest of the weekend, after bubbling the DTD £75 tourney last night (6 hours work for nothing  ;D )

And Daniel "Kinboshi" Phillips, well he"s not awake yet and was very very drunk last night.  But appears to be on a poker winning streak.  Those poor cash players, never stood a chance.   ;D

Gerard (The Wee Man) Smyth will beat his dad Gerard (MY Arse) Smyth with Daniel (Kinboshi / Yapari) making a threesome of RS fans still drownig their sorrows of a balding Spanish Waiter and their deadly FA cup exit during the week...

Then again, Llyr Jones has been seeing some good luck in lately so could be a top 4..  Any 3 from 4... (Hey that is a quartet of RS fans now!!)

I never thought I would be cheering on some RS Fans.

Could we be having our 2nd Chezger APAT champ?

On table 10 I raise to 150 with  4s 5s Seat 7 calls out of the blinds. Flop is kc 8d 3d which we both check. I call a 250 bet on the 2s turn with my up and down draw. I hit it with the 6c river. He bets 350, which I raise to 1100. After what looks like a painful dwell he eventually calls with what I suspect was KQ. I have 11300

James Edwards 18,000

Oh, just in case you"re unable to watch - Oldham goalie just sent off, penalty missed by Fryer. Still nil/nil

Don"t you mean Fryatt??? The top goalscorer in the whole country?

Something like that. Still couldn"t put it past Dean Windass though, must be good  :D

I have inflicted pain. Raise to 700 with  :as: 9s. Button calls, SB (seat 7)  reraises to 2k, I call and button folds. Flop is Ace 5 4 and he bets 3k. I think he has a big pair and will have checked a set, plus he looks defensive so I set him in for 8k more. He tanks for about 2 min then calls with AK. I hit runner runner flush and am up to 27k. He leaves quickly and quietly.

As long as its a draw and Leeds win on Monday against the dirtiest team around (Millwall) I""ll be happy, would make up for me being unable to play at Walsall this weekend.

For any cricket fans in here not to put a downer on your day but it looks like England will be losing by at least an innings as at the moment in there 2nd innings are 28/7 chasing a 1st innings deficeit of 74 as the West Indies kids are teaching us a lesson in how to play, as the luckily bowled them out for 392.

So a gentleman has 20,000

Life is good

His KK is bust by AA to halve his stack

Next hand his KK is bust by AA and he is out

"Long drive home?" I enquired after suitabler commiserations

"Only Devon..." he said

I forgot to ask his name...

The man was Marc Jelfs other wise known as spursf005 on various sites

He called me to let me know of his woes!

Why oh why do we play this game?

Gutted for you Marc

I am proud to announce that I continued my unblemished and ongoing APAT World record.

I was first in the queue for the buffet for the 20th APAT in a row

Steak in a red wine sauce, new potatoes and veg

The steak was tougher than Evander Holyfield"s ear.

Meanwhile in the queue as we waited for the food to be ready I found myself next to Dan Owston

"I am the best player here" he said

My eyebrow raised and I thanked my stars he was a modest chap, or else what other claims would he make?

"I got AK" he said "and raised a bet of 150 to 450. Third player and original raiser call"

I silently waited for the tale to unfold

"the flop comes A K Q

I bet out 450, next player makes it 1450 and the original raiser flat calls

I passed!"

Waiting no doubt for me to genuflect in his general direction at his magnificence he pressed on after a pause

"the raiser had AQ and the other fella KK"

"What a pass"

Indeed. There can only be one winner of this competition for sure.

Congratulations to Dan.

When Torres scored late on to give the 3-2 win to Liverpool did Scouse?

a) Kick the nearest chair over in an orgy of delight?

b) Shout at maximum decibels, swearing loudly, in a guttural vision of prehistoric man come true?

c) Get spoken to by the casino manager and told to calm down?

When Torres scored late on to give the 3-2 win to Liverpool did Scouse?

a) Kick the nearest chair over in an orgy of delight?

b) Shout at maximum decibels, swearing loudly, in a guttural vision of prehistoric man come true?

I go for b, c then a

c) Get spoken to by the casino manager and told to calm down?

b a then c ........

b a then c ........

the answer of course was all three...

he worked out a deal with the card-room maanager that swearing=two lots of shouting.

So at the end of the match he shouted "Come on Liverpool. Beat those Portsmouth nasty people" Repeated it and went back to the bar

Simon Aukland just won a monster pot off his opponent, dressed in a white hoody and white beanie hat. An Albino Benny off crossroads if you will.

I arrived, breathless from the rush, as Simon pushed all in over Benny"s turn bet

the board read  qc js :as: 4h

Eventually his opponent called for the majority of his chips

Simon showed  ah qs

Benny showed  qd jc

Simon held, and has over 60,000 chips now

Des has not been near the bar, too busy working see. Dedication, and an attitude to cash that the British Banking system could but emulate. A one man antidote to the credit crunch. A future Chancellor of the Exchequer, when APAT takes over the running of the British government when it goes bust.

Ask him to put up the interview with Rich Warbwastard Stevenson on the forum, enlivened by Scouse in the background. Comedy gold.

Just got home finishing 65th ish.

Well done on the updates as ever Richard.

GL to all still left in.  Having moved tables 6 times I certainly had a very social tournament if not a winning one!!

Got back at 11 last night, after a good first session I was up at 17.5K, but oh dear what an awful second session! Was on a great table, with Mike Saban, Neil Dawson, another Neil, Steve, and Louis. Good luck to you guys if you"re still in. And good luck to my pre match tips Darren Shallis and Stu Oliver.
Hopefully see you all at the next one.

I"ll go for Boddders, Leigh and Jack Prime, because he sounds like a cop off a US show. No idea who he is though, so he"d better be good.

Never has one man been so wrong! Although, amazingly I was christened "Optimus".

Cheers to everyone for a great day. Was shortstacked and card dead for most of it but kept stealing enough to keep myself around 15-20BBs every blind increase. Went out at around the 100 player mark at 10:30pm. Donked off 60% of my stack when I announced raise from the button trying to take blinds and antes not realising someone was already all in and was held to a raise, only to have to show my 67 offsuit. lol. Ah well. Great weekend again. Thanks to Des, Tighty and everyone involved in organising!

Alan Armitage,Brian Martin and Leigh (i run hotter than ivy) Wiltshire.

We have a winner to the "predict two from three" competition.

Well done Micky P, you will be able to enter the Welsh event if you choose, without having to go through the clickfest.  Please send us a pm a couple of days before the seats go on sale should you want to play in Cardiff.

Thanks to everyone else who entered.  We will run this competition again during the Welsh live update.
