Title: When its good, its very very good, but...........
Post by: AMRN on February 18, 2009, 15:27:36 PM
Wow what a 15 minute session that was - I don"t usually like to come on here moaning about bad beats, but just had to share this last 15 minutes before I go commit poker suicide.

Played two cash tables at .25/.50 with max $50 buy on each. First hand on one table had  kh kd in the big blind and managed to get all in preflop against the button"s  :as: ah. Next buy in, six hands later on the big blind again with  tc td. Small blind open raises and I re-raise..... he calls. Flop  6c 8d 9c - perfect! It all goes in and he shows  6h 6s. sighhh. Within a minute on other table I run  kc kd into  :as: ac and lose that buy in too..... so now down $150 having played only 3 hands in 10 minutes - KK, KK, and TT.

Gave up on cash and sat at a $20 STT. Very first hand UTG min raises and the WHOLE TABLE limp calls and I have  ac qh on the button. I limp. Flop  ad1 qd jd - I have top two. UTG pots and gets 5 flat callers - there is just so much value here and I am way beyond my tilting point - I shove, and get called by  td kd for a flopped royal flush.

So today, my stats read played 12 minutes, 4 hands, lost $172! that"s a loss rate of $860 per hour.

Poker sucks so bad sometimes.

Definitely a day you have to stand up and say "no more" - think I"d have given up after the second buy in :)

I thought you were good ?

Laying down the kings is an easy one  ;D , granted, spotting the flopped full house even with your overpair is a bit more tricky, but you are an APAT champion.  People are going to be gunning for you now.  You are a name, a tv star, these things are going to happen.

Dust yourself off and away you go, and just remember, you are a winner.   ;D

Oh, and that is a sick run of cards, but you"re still a champion.

yes. kk vs AA and overpair vs a set.....these are the very reasons why it is so improtant to not play to much above your bankroll.

Can u imagine if he only has a roll of $1,000. Then losing $150 is over 10% of you roll and this is a significant dent in your stack. To be able to play comfortably at the 25-50c buyins. i would say you need at least a roll of $1500....even more if its for 6-max and defenitly more if your playing 4 tables at once.

The losses didn"t hurt my roll, just my pride and ego.  Never risk more than 5% in any one cash session.

so after all this rubbish, I played a $5 MTT at 20:10 on BSQ and went out first hand with 99 v 66 in a 678 flop.

THEN, played the Sky Poker Bounty Hunter at 20:30, and TOOK IT DOWN for around £240. What goes around comes around I guess!!   ;D ;D ;D
