I"m fairly new to the league but I was wondering why the matches are on a Sunday night when I guess most people work the following day.
Is it because people are doing other things Saturday night - perhaps at casino , or wont Blue square allow tourney then. I was just thinking if you played Saturday night perhaps you could have deep stack tourney, with a view to finishing maybe about 2am.
In any case how would people think about starting maybe at 7 pm rather than 8. Again would Blue Square allow this ?

Saturdays aren"t great for me. 7pm start on a Sunday gets my vote though.

I have a feeling that even after we"ve played round 19, there"ll still be a thread discussing the downsides of the structure and day of play!!
Leave as is (please), although with the 13 minute blinds that came in round 2.

The blinds will be put right for Leg 4.

Happy with 8pm and pre midnight finish.

Happy with 8pm and 8.05pm finish ;D

Sunday is way better for me ... if it ever came to it a slightly earlier start good ...but no issues with current arrangements.
Great work.

Keep them on Sunday and preferably move the National On-lines to Sunday as well next year.

To be fair i think they should be played on different nights , cos 1 night will never suit everyone so if they could be different surely that is fairer?
-
Good point well made Scouse, but for scheduling purposes to make it same time same place means everyone knows when and where!
-
to be fair most peoples "poker night" is on a sunday mine included. A lot of us have family, friends, partners etc or just like to socialise on a sat night.
i wish the nationals were on a sunday too but i see scouse"s point!

Several 100 million people around the world play poker - a fair few in Britain.
I can"t see any way that you can generalise so much to say that most people play on a Sunday.

It is fair to say though Jon that the biggest poker night of the week is Sunday. That"s when all the major guaranteed events happen on most of the networks and that is when traffic is at it"s highest.

It is fair.
But statistically most poker players on one day is not the same as most poker players.

I wish they were on a different night as well..
All APAT games on weekends is a shame due to my work. Its a shame that it is deemed ok for the qualifiers to be played on Mon,Tue,Wed but all ranking tournaments are on the weekend..
Hopefully it will change for S4..
-
I think ranking tournaments should only be played on dates with an even number, but never when that number comes before or after 13 or falls on a day that begins with M or T.
Although maybe we can make an exception and play a tourney on the next leap year day. Any chance Des?
-
I would say that the majority of games are played on the weekend as that is when MOST people don"t work - Unless i am mistaken and the working week for the majority has changed! there should be a standard day of the week though - be it a sat or Sun - with Sun being my preferred day!!

with all due respect, very few people are working at 3.15am on a tues/into weds morning.... know very few people who work at this time, so maybe consider playing the events then???

almost agree Mal, but isn"t there something about an "R" in the month???
And, What if it"s raining?
