Title: When your favourite sites decide to move.
Post by: BOINGBLITZ on March 19, 2009, 23:26:23 PM
Having begun playing this game seriously in 2005, the first 2 sites that I used were Ladbrokes and William Hill. Will Hill was always my favourite and as I got better at the game, it was the site that I won most of my money on.
I didn"t particularly like Laddies at first but gradually my wins improved on there too.....then they decided to move sites, so i went with them.
Will Hill also upgraded their poker skin but again I stuck with them and continued on there as a winning player.
In 2008 I had a big win on Laddies and went on to make lots of new friends on the Poker Cruise. It was more like a family on there and you regularly played against the same people.
But a few months ago, they switched sites again only this time, it is not like Ladbrokes at all. The $25 freezeout at 10pm ?  GONE....along with most of the other tournies that I used to enjoy playing so much. Now all of the biggish prizepools on there seem to be dedicated to rebuy tournies....which I hate.
It is like losing your right arm and I really miss the old Laddies and I hardly play there at all now.
Now, Will Hill have moved to the I-Poker network and the same has happened there too. I already have BluSq and Betfred on that network and you cannot run two of them side-by-side. Consequently, it looks as if Will Hill wont be seeing me again either.
Why do they do this ?  Laddies especially was a community and, probably alongside only Stars, unique in that respect. I think moving was a grave error on there part.
Does anyone know any other sites still on Cryptologic ?.....Littlewoods maybe ?
