Title: The Worst beat ever?
Post by: Honeybadg on April 07, 2009, 23:50:37 PM
Playing a Double or Nothing Six Seater on Betfair - $55+5.50.

Down to four players and one is disconnected.

I am safe ... but one of the others is pretty short.

When disconnected hands are played out if last chips in play ... so when the disconnect survives three all-ins against me ... the short-stack is pretty worried ...

Blinds are 100/200 ... and he is down to 187 chips ...

The disconnect in the BB holds 82 off ... against three opponents ...

I flop a flush (and stop watching!) ... and the disconnect rivers a full house to scoop the $110!

How harsh is that?

That IS pretty harsh but in a humourous kinda way  :)

If you didn"t laugh, you"d cry.

I played the Stars $11 deepstack 4 times in 7 days a couple of weeks ago - cashed in all 4 and hit the final 2 tables twice. Each one had 1000+ runners which is what it normally gets. It can be done.

Back to the op; Who thinks its right for the disco guys hand to go to showdown? Personally i think their hand should be folded as is the case with most sites afaik. Also what is official APAT ruling on this for the live games? Can a non seated/absent players hand be live if the blind bet puts them allin?

im sure in scotland last year, a non seated players (he hadnt turned up for the tournament) hand was still played out and i think he survived the first all in?

At my table in Scotland we were debating this fact as an absent players big blind put them allin, my turn to act a ruling was sought, i didnt believe the ruling would let the hand play so i raised 97 green in s2 just as im putting the bet in floor rules hes live! Fortunately my 9 high saw off the bb`s 8 high.
But im not sure if this was a house rule or an APAT rule

I had a bad beat at week end i would like to share !!
It wasn tonline it was live but here i go
It was cash game on friday night at virgin festival
blinds 1, 2 pound i being my usual tight self !?! had double straddled to 8 (max straddle) both first 2 to act call then couple folds another 2 callers and rest to act fold i look down at two black aces ! I dont get cut and pot it , first 2 to act call, call i think ffs lol, then fold fold button re pots all in he had 3 quid less than me at start of hand,   happy days !!  i re pot all in i had about 270 quid at start of  hand ! Next to act calls ?? got us both covered all else folds ! Nice juicy pot  although what has man behind me got know button must have big pair ! he has 10 10 ! The last caller has a monster of a hand ??
A 10 off !!!
Surely my aces will hold
Flop Q 6 6
nice one
turn J
then someone calls for the K
and there it is
horrible
Not sure of pot you gurus can prob work it out but musthave been over 800 quid please dont tell me if more Leigh still hurts lol

Although i did win side pot of a massive 6 quid !!
