Just wondering how the casinos will know who is an APAT member and who is NOT, surely the local players who are not APAT members could just walk in and register for the tourney.
As being a member of APAT gives you the right to play in these tourneys as we have all paid a membership fee and certainly some this season will have paid the tourney fees also and next season all of us will be paying these also.
will the casinos have a complete list of all APAT members and be given updates of new members ??? should we have to register on line via APAT to enter these tourneys and the casinos getting the list of entrants ??? Are all APAT members going to be issued with membership cards ???
These issues may have already been thought of, if so great but please tell us!!, if not they really need looked into before the first regional tourneys kick off. ::)
just my thoughts on the issue all others are welcome.... ;D

I"m sure that i"ve read that players turning up who are not members can register as members of APAT on turning up. It is part of the deal between grosvenor, bsq and APAT that aims to expand the membership. The Casino just passes details on to APAT so these new players can register for the nationals.
Think this is correct but as a mere member will happily be corrected

Yes I read that too Swinebag. What your saying is correct.

Thanks folks, I must have missed that post, sounds like a great way to expand the membership. could make it even more interesting trying to get a seat though ;D

Is this the same for people trying to register for the online seris at blue sq? Will they just be directed here to sign up?
Even if they are, will there be some kind of password protection on the registration field?
Come to think of it, if I stroll into a Casino and say I am a member, how can I prove that? If someone wants to play but just says "I am a member" without signing any forms, wins the tourney, and is then proven not to be a member, would he be disqualified? But by then, he"d already have his shiny medal.
Am I just taking this too seriously? What have I got against non-apat members? Any chance of membership cards or big pin-badges? Ha.

My understanding of it is with the APAT / Blue Sq link, if you have a Blue Square account, you are entitled to free APAT membership and the same with any Grosvenor Casino membership, so as it"s free and anyone can join (excluding pro"s), then it is all good.

Exactly. Turn up and register and you"re a member. That goes for Bluesq and the live events. Well, that"s my understanding of it.
Quick question though Des. If DTD gets the OK, and someone turns up to play there for an APAT event, are they automatically given membership (as it"s not a Grosvenor venue)?

...and another question.....
Currently our email address acts as our membership number. Will folk joining at a regional event have to provide a mail address ? And what if they don"t have a computer/mail address ?
