If you follow this LINK (http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=1396.0) it will take u to last year"s thread on the UK Team event. Lots of info there.
As far as I know, the date will be moved to January/February although nothing has been said for a while on it.
Hope that helps.

We"ll be getting an updated announcement out on this tournament very shortly.

Is very shortly sooner than soon or is soon sooner that very shortly? ;)

So the December date isn"t fixed?
If it does change, I"ll have to withdraw from the team I was asked to play for until much nearer the time, as I can"t be sure what"s happening after New Year.
A pity if it does move as it seemed a strange, yet ideal, time to hold the event.
Keep me posted!

At this moment, unless there are serious objections from the 16 team captains when appointed, we will proceed with the Christmas week dates as advertised.
-
How are Captains appointed for this one Des?
-
Speaking personally, the UK Team Championship was one of my favourites, but 27 December is stretching it too far. Its Christmas and I have a family and cannot justify leaving them so soon after Santa has been, Im a family person my kids come first.
I do hope it is re-scheduled to a better date, if not I will be unable to attend.

Each team appoint their own Captain Stuart

Cheers Mary.
Who is captain of the APAT team (i.e. who do I have to PM to get a place on the team :) )

I"m not sure Stuart, I am sure someone will be appointed nearer the time.

As a member of Team TimeForPoker from last years event, we would still be keen to enter a Team in to the follow up event.
Would be good to be considered for one of the teams taking part again.
How will the participating teams be decided? :)

Bristol and Southwest Meetup are also keen to play this but a few of the players would rather see a shift in the date to early in the new year due to family commitments.
Whatever is decided, it"d be good to know one way or the other as soon as possible in order to get cheaper hotels and travel.
-
Fiso would be able to field a team at any time, even Christmas week. I do think a lot of good and enthusiastic people will be forced to miss out though. Which isnt really what this event is about surely.

Your Captain ;) Karrde is keen on a date change tbh. A lot of poker players owe their families bigtime at Christmas ;D
-
Nuff said! Even the Pasty Man will struggle to make it :( and I defy anyone to be more enthusiastic than that man 8)
-
Another one of the Fiso team who"ll have to sit for family commitments. :"(
How about a change of date?
-
I think a change of date would be good too. A lot of players would prefer to stay at home with families during the festive season. Especially those who have to travel some distance and stay over a few nights to participate.
Either way, it would be good to find out how the teams are being chosen this year.
-
Is this event capped or can anyone enter a team?
-
don"t really care what dates - xmas week is fine for me (expectations already "managed" at home)..... i just need to find a place on a team!!
-
I do hope it is re-scheduled to a better date
^^^^^This^^^^^^
-
Date is good for me , but there are so many understandably finding that date difficult that I think another time slot should be found.
-
Northern Poker Stars (Cumbrian-based poker club) would be very interested in attending this event too.
There could even be a very local rivalry; Robbiebox, your team of course!
Could be more fiercely contested than the Old Firm, the Rome derby, and the Mersyside derby combined!
I will look out for updates on this event with great relish. It would be fantastic to face off against the likes of the Hendon Mod, and to meet some of the APAT members too.
-
is this event open to "professional players" again this time?
-
Team Punterslounge reporting in Des
Hope date stays the same, what else is there to do on the 27th Dec?

Spend some time with the family so that they tolerate the 50 weeks of poker we are about to play once the NYE hangover fades ;)

May have to swerve this one- think it clashes with the monte carlo at DTD

-
Team UKPI would definately like to reserve a place for this game.
-
BCPC have already registered our intent to enter a team.

Please see new thread (http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=4605.0) regarding this event.
So as not to make it too confusing, I have locked this thread from any further posts.
