Title: Manchester leg - the times
Post by: UKChamp on October 05, 2007, 15:54:49 PM
I have spoken to a couple of sources at the G casino and apparently registration only starst at 1pm. The casino opens at 12 but there is no advantage to be gained in getting there early. No players can reg before 1pm.

Yeah I thought so too, but have spoken to the casino and it is as stated above, 12 oclock opening and 1pm reg so no point turning up before then. :)

Amazingly, they decided to take registrations as soon as the Casino opened, much to our horror on the motorway! I rang up at about 12.15 just to make sure we were still in with a good chance of as we were half-way there on the M62 only to have the guy on the desk tell me they"d opened up registrations early and that there were massive queues in the lobby and loads of people had already entered! Luckily, the event wasn"t over-subscribed as expected and we managed to be the 45th or so players to enter. But it would be nice in future if the casino can stick to the advertised registration time! By changing it, it simply means those locals who live near and don"t actually have to put in much effort to enter can just take up a seat whereas those who put in the effort by travelling 20-50 miles are at a disadvantage.

Also, can they be told to up the temperature in their casino? I"ve been there a couple of times now and both times I wished that I had brought a jumper with me!
