Title: Click Fest
Post by: Jon MW on September 24, 2009, 19:48:20 PM
Usually we refresh until the link appears.

Is that going to be all different now?

If we click the link before it"s live it fails - so are we going to have to keep on guessing when it"s life, clicking back when it fails and restarting Ad nauseum?

And, it is going to work once it goes live isn"t it?

I have complete faith in confidence in the IT infrastructure of APAT obviously. More or less.

The "ticket" on the home page worked very well last week with one exception, some people were sat at the player name entry point before 9pm and didn"t refresh, therefore couldn"t get through to the payment server.

You"ll only be able to click through to that point this evening from 9pm, which hopefully should remove the above issue.  So, no real point clicking before 9pm.

My advice...

Press CTRL F5 to refresh at 9pm.
Click on the ticket.
Job done.

One issue (using Firefox 3.5.3) is an error message; Firefox doesn"t know how to open this address, because the protocol (avascript) isn"t associated with any program.

It DID work after three or four "refresh" attempts (issue solved in real time??)

Worked in IE8 though.

Sigh

There was a temporary fault which stopped me proceeding

So I tried starting from scratch

And when it got to the payment screen it said that this card was already involved in a transaction.

Hopefully I "registered", even if the payment failed because of the error, but it didn"t look promising based on where it all fell down.

This was the error message:

Quote

TEMPORARY FAULT

A temporary problem has prevented your payment from continuing.

Problems can occasionally arise for a number of reasons including:

   * Scheduled essential maintenance
   * Random security checks
   * Temporary network or server access problems
   * National banking network outages

Our engineers have been notified and will investigate as soon as possible.

on the off chance that this might make it less likely to happen in future

Hi Scott, we"ll take a look at the position that you attempted your purchase so you may still receive a seat.  Ultimately it is a question for your bank as to why the card will not work on the PayPoint service.  APAT don"t receive any information on that front unfortunately.

Regards,

Des.

Thanks Des

I had no problem when we went to Cardiff payment no issue, DTD was a problem that was the last one i tried and a friend had to pay for me, now this one, i shall speak to the bank, but i have no issues anywhere else on the net.

If i qualify for a seat i will arrange payment somehow.

For some reason my card was turned down the first time, as not a valid for transaction. I imputted the card details again and it went through.

Does my time go through for the aborted effort or the second attempt?

Hi Caroline.  Probably a better sign for you than Foggy, lol.

Joking aside, the list will be prepared by time of purchase / purchase attempt and be completely fair.
