So huge thanks to APAT and BLue Square - I started my first ever "Big Buyin" comp yesterday - Thought I"d give a quick match report!
"It was a sunny day" - sry thought I was back at school, but it really was a sunny day for me I play 1-2 cash quite regularly in the Vic when I"m working down here so it feels a comfortable environment. Just imagine the look on the faces of some of my regular foes when they saw me sitting down in such a comp - Priceless!
So I was lucky to have an easy table - Dave Colclough - Jeff Duval - Aftab Achmed - Nick Slade to mention a few!
Jeffs game is magnificent to watch - he knows where he is time after time, he also uses position perfectly.
Lots of memorable hands key for me doubling up with AA (yep I know I play so tight), but to be honest I missed a few bets not going allin with AKs when 4 bet at from the button, never mind you have to go with your gut.
I trundled for so long on ave chips and felt relived to be a little under this (38,500) at the end of 11 grouelling hours.
So back Saturday wiiiiiiii .
Without doubt the most challenging Poker I have played but so rewarding!!
PS I have been tweeting updates on www.twitter.com/stoneleighrd (http://www.twitter.com/stoneleighrd)

Good Luck tomorrow & Sunday Charles
-
Good Luck mate I"m sure you"ll do well
All you have to do is change gears as you did in the World Final
-
lol they have lost only 11 players in first three and half hours. There was a preflop all in showdown in the first few mins with KK v AA..... with 60 min blinds, 20k starting stack, and a £3k buy in, how the heck do you get all in pre with KK in level 1!!?
John Miller still going, but down to 9k
-
Best of luck big fella!
TID.
-
good luck Charles. Well done on making Day 2.
-
Het steve. 3k to most people, may be like £30 to that guy. And i know i would ship my stack pre flop with KK in a £30 tourney.
-
Agree getting it in this early with KK is spewy but you do get people who 5 bet all in with 88. ::)
-
Best of luck and keep up the good work so far :)
-
Well done Charles, GL
-
John Miller OUT 90th - 44 v AQ all in pre

Thanks to everyone for all their kind words and encouragement it really means alot.
Just done my "Harrington M crib sheet" and it would appear that I can take it easy for at least 2-3 levels with a bit of nudging and nerdling. The structure is really amazing!
I"ll give it my best shot and whatever happens its been an amazing blast - looking forward to the APAT added value of season 4, as this experience is a massive incentive to try and win an event from the tour next year!
Can"t wait to get it all in with :as: 4h you know its the nuts ;D
Will try to keep you upto date on www.twitter.com/stoneleighrd (http://www.twitter.com/stoneleighrd)

Best of luck today Charles and remember you"ve already shown the pedigree to win a big event so stick with your strategy throughout.

-
Charles, Hoping you would take this down. Hope you had a good time in the event.
would love you to do a write up of the experiance, we can all only dream...............
-
Thanks to everyone for your support - my consolation to going out was the missus scooting down to London and having a smashing night on the town. Note to self RustyNails give bad head in morning!
I"ll do a full report when I get home but I was more that happy to go out to CT Law with my Tens, he was playing quite loose with marginal hands. I made my move soon after he called Bambos"s all-in with K-10.
Fair to say I have learned lots over the past two tournament days, there are quite a few things I can do with my game to improve for sure. More later.......
-
Well played Charles. Just back off my hols to hear about your great run! Keep it up son!!! ;)
Paul.
