It would seem a reserve list has been drawn up and e-mails have been to sent to people on it, asking if they would like to take up the option of purchasing a seat.It looks like people who in the clickfest managed to get through to the payment screen and reserve a seat who didn"t make the cut who are getting e-mails.They have until 8pm on Saturday night to purchase the seat and then i suppose it gets offered to someone else further down the "list".
I would guess by now APAT would have had conformation from all people winning a seat in regionals as to wether or not they are going to take up there option of a seat at the national, and therefore know how many "reserve" seats are available.Or maybe Walsall have increased the capacity????

are you in Waltypies??

Yes, the "on the day" reserve list will be your best bet, but it is difficult to know how many seats will be available prior to that.

Des, I"ll be running a couple of courses in Walsall.....

1. "Technology - Is it for me ?"

2. "How to screw up a simple procedure with the aid of technology" and,

3. "Recovering technological screw ups, but first, the bar...."

Feel free to sign up for all three.   :D

Having spent four hours at the w/e teaching my mother how to scanner a phot on to her computer and emailing with attachments, is there any chance of adding a course or two:

Technology - is it right for your parents?
or maybe
Correct and proper Prayers for the God of Technology?

any how sign me up for the 3rd course, or any others that start with a trip to the bar!

Looking at the thread but alternates being allowed in it looks worth while for me to get there the time the casino opens and get on the reserve list on the day :)

It"s a good idea and it worked last year, but I think anybody planning on doing this must be sure that they"re happy going and not getting a seat still.

After all with alternates being allowed in the impression might be that there is a much greater chance of being able to get a seat. But this will only provide a handful of "extra" seats at most so people should only go for the reserve list on the day if they"re happy to make the effort and still not play.
Title: Re: Walsall Reserves
Post by: kinboshi on October 22, 2007, 14:38:50 PM
Also, people (on the players list) who are delayed for whatever reason will be able to take their seats after the 2:30pm start time.  Previously, they would have been unable to play and would have called ahead and withdrawn from the event.

I"d still travel on the day though and chance my arm.

You gambled on whether the 150/300 level would be introduced.

How silly would you have looked if you"d made all that fuss and it didn"t achieve anything?

Hi Robert,  Offers have not extended down to tenth place yet, but may do so this evening when I check responses.

To answer another question, a second reserve list will be started by APAT at the venue at midday on November 3rd.  As has happened at each APAT event to date.

No assurances, and it might be busy. Get there early and try your luck

Next comp is Manchester in December. Typically entry online beforehand is 4 -5 weeks in advance

Title: Re: Walsall Reserves
Post by: FlyingPig73 on October 29, 2007, 22:50:18 PM
The £20 x 80 Seat regional events are events in there own right, but they are also satelites to the national events.

The points that you win in the regional events count towards the final standing at the end of the season, and points are awarded to the top 9 places. Also, if you finish in the top 10% of runners you get a seat in the National Event.

May be a bit much to take in, or I haven"t explained it well, but that is it in a nutshell.

Cant quite believe my luck.....

Got rivered to be knocked out in the live tourney (12 people left)

My pocket Kings got knocked out agains Pocket queens in the online qualifier

The pay system went down so they did not accept my card details the first time. Went through the second time. Lost valuable minutes and so didnt get a guaranteed place.

15th on the reserve place and places get given to the top 14 so I miss out by one place........

i am at work and so dont have access to hotmail to see if i have had a last minute invitation). Will check later!

If that isnt a bad luck story in relation to this event I dont know what is! I cant justify driving up and not getting in on the day.

I hope that the same situation doesnt arise for the next event...! At least I have the virgin poker festival to look forward too.!

Got on the list of alternates today at Walsal but unfortunately didn"t get to play.
I was not happy to see quite a few empty seats with chips in front of them getting blinded away.
Why can"t we in future have a policy whereby, at the end of level two all players have a break and all the vacant seats (where people have failed to notify the casino of late arrival) have their chips given to the dealer for antes and are out of the game and the seats sold to people on the alternates list.
There were people today who had made the effort and travelled a long way in the hope of playing only to see empty seats and not be able to fill them.
There would also be an extra few hundred pounds added to the prize fund.

Comments please.

Hi Zero,

The law has changed and legally if those players have not informed APAT that they are withdrawing from the event; and some players were stuck in horrendous tail backs on the M6 following an accident today, then we cannot legally remove their chips.  They have paid their entry fee and would not be entitled to a refund should they not turn up.  Obviously this is disappointing for players standing on the sidelines, but we have to work within the legal framework here.

Regards,

Des.
