Title: Biscuit v Chocolate Biscuit v Chocolate
Post by: nosey-p on January 12, 2010, 12:04:19 PM
Bainn stated a thread about two years ago about biscuits. I started one last year about KitKat. What I want to know is if you offered a plate which had

Ginger NUT                   KitKat                 Mars
Bourbon                       Twix                   Snicker
Hobnobs                      Penguin               Yorky
Custer cream               Time Out               Dairy Milk
Digestive                     Club                     Bounty

And you only had one choice, which would you choose?

For me it has to be one from the 2nd Colum, KITKAT

Really tough choice between Snickers ( or Marathon.. thats another thread!) or Bounty, think I"d plump for the Bounty.

Digestive vs Kit Kat vs Mars

Mars winning overall

Dairy Milk (if it was a Whole Nut), if not then Snickers.

Ginger Nut & Time Out wouldn"t be too far behind though depending on my mood.

slightly confused as people only choosing one kind of treat, as I read the OP as being offered a plate which had;

plate 1 - a selection of biscuits
plate 2 - a selection of chocolate wrappped biscuits
plate 3 - a selection of chocolate bars

Unfortunately I don"t think enough information as been given in the OP.

Surely we need to know at what time said choices are given, as obviously plate 1 would be preferred around morning brew time, so say 0930. Plate 2 I would expect around 11, plate 3 is no doubt 3 oclock choc and I notice that a few plates are missing, there should be a plate full of cakes for high tea, around 4. That should keep you going onto tea time, after which we should be presented with plate 5 - puddings, and then a bit later, plate 6 cheese with biscuits and then maybe a small saucer of after eights just before bedtime.

Hope that helps.

Jaffa Cakes ftw. From the partial list provided it"s Timeout by a short head over Club, but how could you include the disgusting Ginger Nuts in the options?

Obviously the only choice for sane people is of course the most revered "Ginger Nut".

End of.

To clarify

It's 3.17pm you had your lunch at 1.00 which was a cheese and branston sandwich and an apple. You go round to your next door neighbours. You are offered a plate with said items on it, to go with the cup of tea/coffee. So you do not look like a greedy git you only pick one. Which one do you pick? If it helps you will be having dinner at 5.30pm (stake and chips and rhubarb crumble)

When we have enough votes i shall announce the official APAT choice of biscuit/chocolate

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. This is bringing back some bad memories. I got so wrapped up in the previous biscuit debate that when I went to The Vic for the World Championships in 2008, the security photo taken at reception clearly indicated that I was carrying a packet of Jammy Dodgers in each jacket pocket. On the first table in the first event (Omaha I believe) the dealer, the legendary Dena, seemed distinctly unimpressed as I offered one of the Jam-filled delicacies to everyone at the table. Clearly, the reason I was dealt awful cards all week and failed to win a penny in any of the four events was that The Vic has a secret anti biscuit policy and the dealers were conspiring against me. My therapist says I have made good progress in trying to break my biscuit addiction.
  There is only one man to blame for all this; Just say no to Bainn and the causes of Bainn. Biscuits are the devils own foodstuff.

Good Post.

Obviously running late for the 3 O"clock Choc and far too early for 4 oclock high tea ( can"t beat abit of Victoria Sponge and a brew at 4 John) , however you"re going to be starving, if you"ve only had a cheese and branston sandwich and apple for dinner, however with such a good tea and pudding to look forward too, you don"t want to spoil it, so good call for only picking the one.

I"ll go for Yorkie, for two reasons;

1) Its not for girls, so you don"t have to share it with the mrs
2) when they were produced by rowntree they used to have the best easter eggs by far on the market.

Well if I"ve only had a cheese and branston sandwich and an apple for lunch, I"ve only had an apple for lunch, so I"m gonna be even more starving. Coffee & TimeOut now and tea & cake at 4! Anyone who wants my boring sandwich is welcome to it.
