Title: Which decade was best for music?
Post by: nosey-p on February 09, 2010, 17:02:31 PM
To keep us going till season 4

Which decade was best for music?

For me it's got to be the 80's (Depeche Mode, Kraft work, Human League) I also like Queen and David Bowie but from the 70's.

70s, clearly.

One thing we can be sure about is that it"s 70s/80s/90s, not 70"s/80"s/90"s.

Easy, the 70"s something for everyone, and boy they all seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Glam Rock: TRex, Bowie, Roxy Music then Mud, Sweet, Glitter etc etc.

Classic/Concept Albums: Led Zep 4, Pink Floyd Dark Side.., The Who Whos Next, Stones Sticky Fingers etc etc.

Punk: Sex Pistols, Clash, Stranglers, The Jam, Buzzcocks

Kids: Rolf Harris, Ken Dodd and the Diddymen, Pinky and Perky(they seem to be making a comeback)

Nough said, end of thread. :D

Late seventies early eighties, glam rock, punk rock, ska, and then the new romantics, there was a new mood every 6 months! Quality. Having said that Oasis were pretty good.... mad for it.

Does it depend on how old you are to which decade you prefer? I was in my teens in the 80s (I know I look to young) so I prefer 80s music. With the response so for I would say most of you are over the age of 45  ::)

70"s no question .....end of!  ;D

The 10"s haven"t exactly got off to a good start have they - Jo Mcelderry, Cheryl Cole (ok not bad to look at) & bloody Jedward to name but a few of the train crashes  ::)

Nostalgic memories of lost youth? I wonder. :-\

Considering everything is happening right NOW. Perhaps the 10"s IS the best decade for music. That could include converting all your old 70"s vinyl records to MP3 format and appreciating them once again! ;)

Which film as the best sound track?

This is an easy one for me, Highlander music by Queen. I also have a soft spot for musicals, Bing Crosby in White Christmas or Sound of Music there I've said it "I like musicals" that's been some-think I wanted to get off my chest for ages
