Title: Ariston's Guide To Satellites
Post by: RioRodent on March 19, 2010, 20:03:15 PM
The following two part article was written by Russ "Ariston" Cawley and originally published on the Betfair site a few years ago. It is not currently accessible but I have his permission to reproduce it here, with the caveat below.

no problem if you want to reproduce them. the betfair site is getting an overhaul at the minute so they are archived and they will be reproducing them again on the run up to the world series.

remember this was written 3 or 4 years ago where nobody played them this way (or very few) and now although a lot of the rules still apply I would definately be playing the sats slightly different towards the end using HUD stats from HEM etc. How I ever played without all the tracking software I will never know lol

still stick to the same argument I always had though- I dont call allin unless I absolutely have to and I still fold qq kk even aa in sats regularly. sound bizarre but I would rather push allin with 72 first in the pot than call allin with QQ lol.

Im not on APAT forum so wont be there to defend myself against all the falming haha. all I know is i will be winning maybe 8 or ten seats again this year for players where I now charge a fixed fee for winning seats ( im not good enough to actually play the events and got bored of travelling the world on free holidays lol)

gl defending my strategy but I reckon ive had over 100 tys from people who have played this way and qualified for multiple events. wish i had put a % clause in the article  ;)
