Title: Luton Poker Club - LIVE ON TOUR
Post by: Waz1892 on March 30, 2010, 15:12:11 PM
Feel free to use this thread to see if we can get a gathering of Luton players to meet and greet at a venue - near-ish Luton I guess!

I live in Peterborough, but have been known to travel!

It seems the sensible thing is to try to met up for the English Open which is in the G at Luton.

Dates are 23rd October, given all plenty of time to gain passes!.or is that just me.

I could also present the Player of the Club award, as well be halfway through League 2...or this can be presented at the Worlds in the DTD as the League 1 would have just finished..

As ever open to all opinions and varibables.

IMHO.....

Player of the season for S1 trophy to be given at DTD (or you could just post it to CincinnatiKid now ;D)

Live meet up at the English sounds good - How about the Friday night before the ME and get them to arrange a private tourney. Tighty is very much "in" there and can speak to / introduce us to the right people.

sounds very much like a good plan!...and if cincikid keeps it up then he indeed has it all wrapped up..needs to play in 3 more..and if his average is still in single figures then Division 2 it is...WIN WIN situ!

The legend that is "Tighty" has offered to book this for us for 22nd October, the day before APAT Luton.

Please confirm if you are definitely in so we can let the venue know.

I"ve booked you guys in for two tables on the Friday night

Maximum 20 runners

For an STT type format they"ll charge £5 a head, will include tables chips and dealers

For an MTT type format..ie lasting longer than 90 minutes or so, it will be more than £5 a head. You can self deal if you like and stick at a fiver. eg a 3k double chance 20 runner MTT ona  30 minute clock will take 4-5 hours, so two dealers for that long will cost.

Just need to know what structure and chips you want, and what you are prepared to pay really

What"s the thoughts on the Southern Division Controller getting involved? I know I play for Kent but I don"t treat any of my teams more favourably than another :D

Self deal ftw IMHO, especially if Ian"s very kind offer stands - I"m sure we can buy him a beer or 2. If there isn"t a 2nd dealer then we can always self-deal table 2 (i.e. deal with the button) and break this table 1st.

It was my suggestion to tiny tighty that we had a 3k double chance as the emphasis is on fun and meeting up and this gives more play for us whereas I take a standard STT format to mean 2k stack and 10 or 12 minute blinds and could be over quite quickly.

So for a £5 cover charge per person The G will provide tables, cards and chips - tyvvm

Waz & I are meeting on Saturday as we have both qualified for the PPGP Final (blatant brag  ::)) and will discuss some of the details, then one of us will put a follow up post where there will be a player list, which we will keep updating.

Thank you again Tighty

The rest of you, please watch this space  ;D

As a dealer or as a player?

I didn"t know you could deal....

Then again it has been suggested that you can"t play either!! :o

If I"m drawn on the "non dealer" table, I"m happy to offer to deal for the duration if people are ok with that.  Captain"s duty and all that!   ::)

Thank-you for Tighty and JP once again for arranging this already.

D/C 3k sounds the best option for the best chance of some banter etc.

If this is max-ed at 20 players, then the invite is for Luton Members 1st of course.

If we don"t get 20 runners from our current members, then I see no reason why not, as your also offering to deal!  ;)

Not just my call of course, just my opinion.

Any decent hotels at Luton?

I stayed at Premier Inn for Europeans last year but didn"t like the walk whilst hammered.

You local guys must have some tips?

Cheers

Not tonight JP, will do my damnedest to play next.

As for hotels in Luton, its a pretty staple selection. I will ask people who go there a bit more and will let you know this week.

Really looking forward to our home game :)

Right Guys this is very Much ON!!

I am going to take responsibility for the event and leave Waz to carry on with his skippering duties where we are all agreed he is doing a fine fine job.

Waz and I spoke on Saturday and were thinking along the same lines so this is the plan as it currently stands

£20 Double Chance with a 3,000 Starting Stack + 3,000 either when you go broke or when we reach the break (felt this would give the most play and longer structure as the emphasis is on meeting up and having a laugh)
30 minute levels
Break will be after Level 3
£5 rake to the G for allowing us to do this
Ian "Pables" Thompson is going to deal for us - we have 2 tables so will allocate a dealer for the 2nd table nearer the time but Ian will deal to the final
An extra £1 per person will be levied to cover Ian"s drinks for the night1st hour
8pm start - meet at the bar between 7 and 7.30pm
Payouts will be fairly standard but..... I have managed to secure some extra prizes by way of APAT Luton"s unofficial sponsor!!
The ink is not yet dry on the contract so I cannot reveal too much at this point, but they are probably the best sponsor in the world  ;)

I am going to start a separate thread for a player list only and I will populate it with people who have already said they will play on this thread. Please keep this thread for banter and info and the other for registraion only - I will keep it updated

Priority for this game will be given to Luton Players and if there are 20 of us then so be it but if we do not fill it the game is open to other APAT members, friends etc.

See you there guys and keep the banter going

JP
