Hi everybody I would just like to Announce the Team members for Team Cymru For the forthcoming Championships to be held at Dusk til Dawn at the back end of August.
They are as follows :
Dan Owston
Richard-Rudling-Smith
Dylan Herbert
The forth member, will be myself Paul McGuinnes as a playing Captain.
I think we have a very good, strong and well balanced team here. I am genuinely sorry for anybody else who feels that they should be on the team. We intend to do You all very proud, and appreciate your support for the event.
Anybody who has any issues, or simply wish to give advice of any sort, i will be happy to chat with them via a P.M. or by phone call(if you send me your No:). Let"s not forget we are all part of the same Team... "Team Cymru"
Thank You all, and i hope to see You in Nottingham.
Cheers
Paul Mac

To the Welsh Team, on the morning of Thursday August 26th, I am kidnapping your Captain. This is mainly due to his wife not allowing him to use the car. However, I have been assured that his wife will return his Bol locks to him for a breif time so he can enter the poker events at DTD, but they must be returned to her as soon as possable after the events. Please rest assured that although we all know when your Captain gets off his leash he goes a little insane, as can be verified on CCTV footage throughout the UK and Europe (Venice in particular), that I will not allow him to stop at any pubs on the way to DTD nor will I let him do anything that would lead to him to be standing in front of anybody in a powdered wig. As we all know Canada and Wales are very similar as we both have neighbours who "think" they are a bit better than us however most likely couldnt spot us on a map. For this reason I promise to deliver your Captain to the DTD venue unscathed and ready to play, how he plays is entirly up to him. But rest assured Team Wales, he will get there. I would also like to offer Team Canada"s support should we in the unlikely event be railed prior to Team Wales. I would also like to say that Team Canada is quite happy to be awarded the Silver Medal when Wales accepts the Gold. I look forward to your support in Nottingham gentlemen, best of luck to you all.

Thanks for that, You caring Soul. ;D
-
Anything I can do to help Paul you know that...
-
Have to be honest and say that this looks a strong team.
Keeping Dan in check though, may be your biggest problem.......lolol
-
Dan will be just fine, Look forward to Notts Bri cheers, c u there Matey :)

I can vouch for that ;D

Good luck Team Cymru ;D
As long as you keep dan quiet and Paul on the shandy"s only I think we have a good chance this year
and if not we can always blame the captain LOL ;) ;)

Well, let"s nip this in the bud before it declines into a joke. Keep This thread for Team Cymru comments of a positive nature
please. By all means start a new thread for the opposite if you wish. We all like a laugh and mick-take, but this isn"t the correct place nor the right time(ie b4 a card is even dealt).
I back my team, irrespective of other peoples thoughts for my choices. They have been made and i stand or fall by them.
However, let"s wait until after the championships for the assassinations to begin ;D
Yours respectfully
Paul McGuinness

Easy tiger. Better to answer the critics at the table.

Well said Paul.
Guys Paul is the man to keep me in check, and this event will be an alcohol free affair. How it did it mind you, will remain eternally, our secret. To re-iterate, Wales, being the smallest of the home nations, has fewer bodies and therefore a lesser pool of talent to dip into, but we are a proud bunch, willing to sacrafice whatever it takes to do our country proud ( and that includes cider ;-) ). So whatever the result, 100% will be given from team Cymru, and i"d like to thank everyone for any support they give us along the way !!

-

Can"t think of anyone I"d sooner see win it. Well done mate!
-
Congratulations Paul, Rudders, Dan and Dylan on a fantastic result. Very deserving winners and we"ll see you back to defend it in 2011.
-
Many congratulations to the Wales team, worthy champions, thoroughly deserved, enjoy the moment guys !
-
Just want to post on here, (and i"m sure the rest of the team will back me up) for all the fantastic support from so many people throughout the event. An amazing atmosphere with a good combination of rivalry coupled with hi jinks and light hearted banter from start to finish. Met some amazing people once again and had an absolute blast. Only soured slightly by the attitude and pettiness of DTD which is a shame as i believe its the best poker club in the UK bar none.
Now for me is such a proud time to be a Welshman and to have been part of this alongside such a great team of players.
Lastly i"ll re-iterate my thanks to APAT and Betfair for making this event everything it was.....
Thanks to all for team Cymru, and hope everybody has a fab weekend...
-
Many congrats to Paul and his team - thoroughly deserved.
Would have thought more non-Welsh players would have made the effort to be around for the trophy presentation but there you go ;).
-
We all like a laugh and mick-take, but this isn"t the correct place nor the right time
Is it the right time yet?
Nope, but now is!!
-
Well done Team Wales. Your a great bunch of guys and hard players. Paul and I said on the way up that if Canada and Wales finished one two we would be happy with whoever won it. I don"t think either of us thought that would happen. I"m really genuinly happy that if Canada couldn"t take it down that Wales was able to. Great bunch of guys and I look forward to the next clash. There were a couple of incidents at dtd that I wasn"t happy with, was I loud, you bet I was, I wanted this one. But who wouldn"t be. If your not as excited about winning this event then it doesn"t mean as much to you as it does to me and you shouldn"t be playing in the event in the first place. Anyway enough said. Well done Wales. Great job.
-
Congratulations! Deserved win after a fierce battle with Canada. Great win.
-
Awesome result for a great team and bunch of guys. I especially enjoyed my time playing along side Rudders on the final two 6 max SnG games, although cant say the same for the jokes. ;)
-
Good to see most of you last night at the Broadway in Birmingham, is there no escape from the Welsh invasion! How did Dan, Ben and others get on as I made it to last two tables and then sculked off?
