Is there going to be a book for the main event this year?

Why would that make a difference? Betfair aren"t bookmakers.

With Betfair, don"t you just have to set one up? Anyone?

If there is enough interst Betfair should set up a market.
They used to have a ""last longest"" pool on their daily flagship mtt, maybe of interst if you want to back yourself.

I have contacted them about a book on the tournament but they said they wernt doing one.

Thats pap.
Betfred does them for poker in the pub.

There wouldn"t be any liquidity in a Betfair market on this.
Remember, they"re not a bookie.

Ah are they not a bookie then ::)

I see NO reason why betfair couldn"t make a market in this.
All they would need is a list of "runners" & would have to provide
an "any other player" facility for late entrants.
We (the punters) would then offer prices to other punters on who we do/don"t fancy (in the betting sense!)
After all, they form a market for Big Brother & other nonsense !!
Not sure APAT members would wish to offer decent enough odds imo.
After all every player must be at least 50/1 ??
Some of us :-[must be 1,000/1
