I have put some links to hotels in a thread below for those looking for accommodation.

Manchester, that weekend, is very busy with several different events.

Cheers

yeah, united are at home that weekend and as most of their fans dont come from manchester they do book up the rooms for the weekend.

Good luck finding somewhere

if you want to avoid city centre prices look for B&B"s around Prestwich or Whitefield. only a 5 / 10 minute drive away and it"s one road down to the "G"
there"s a few rooms left in the building directly opposite the casino but unfortunately it"s called Strangeways Prison!
then again my scooby bus is still broke down on the "G" car park (very understanding staff there towards one-legged poker players) since the regionals... sleeps 4.... cooker/fridge/heater and a bottle of JD in the cupboard! make me an offer lol lol lol

Feel free to try to Manchester YHA in the Castlefield area of the city centre. The missus works there, and says it"s £24.50 per night in a 4-bed dorm on weekends. Not very glamorous, I know, but if there"s a few of you coming down, it"s easy enough to book out a room if you ring up (but do be quick, as they"re always sold out on Saturdays).

The G Casino is a short taxi ride away, but don"t get it muddled with the Salford Grosvenor which is just around the corner :)

Blooming heck - trying to find a halfway affordable hotel on the Sat night which is vaguely near the casino is a nightmare - everywhere is booked up.

ok so maybe its not quite Manchester but I have booked the Holiday Inn Express in Warrington, about 19 miles away.  A little under £50 per room per night, and you can get a family room with a bed sofa.

So if your willing to drive a little - about half an hour on mostly motorways.....

Mickey,

Try the Premier Travel Inn at Prestwich, about 3 miles.

Seems crazily busy that weekend for some reason...

I"m in the Arora International, seems to be in the centre of Manchester, about 2 miles from the Casino. Not the cheapest (£145 I think), but looks reasonably nice, and had to pick something half decent to persuade the missus to come down with me to keep me company... Even that is sold out on most sites, I got it on LateRooms.com...

When "Manure" play at home most of the hotels will be booked up......as only about 1% of them come from Manchester!  ;D
