now i lose the hi half to the straight - thats ok
lo half villian shows A3456
but i have A2 347 - A2 being in my hand and 347 on the board
shouldnt i be awarded the lo half?

A2345 is the lo nuts. A2346 is second nuts, A2356 is third nuts...... etc 45678 is worst lo hand

a simple way to work it out is to reverse the 5 cards ie 54,321 as a number and the lowest number wins as in your example
76,xxx is a larger number than 6x,xxx therefore the 76 loses. Hope this helps for future hands your involved in?
A lot of players, myself included, begin/began working from the Ace up, could cost a lot of money playing this way :D
A better example would be : 76432 would beat 76521(A) as you can see the first number can be subtracted from the second, leaving a positive number. also reads easier this way,7"s=, 6"s= then the 4 in the hundreds unit is obviously lower than the 5.
