Title: EPT London
Post by: MintTrav on September 05, 2010, 11:43:43 AM
Fancy playing in the EPT? Amongst all the big buy-in games, there is a £100 + £20 tournament in the Hilton on Edgeware Road on 2-4 Oct. Two Day 1s, Sat & Sun, Day 2 Mon. £100k guarantee. I guess it"ll have to be fast to blow away 1000 entrants.

Yes,,this a little confusing to.You can re-enter i believe for £110,however you dont reload at the table as with a normal re-buy,you have to re-enter at the desk and then you are re-seated at another table.Im told day 1a will play down to 16 and as long as you dont cash you can re-enter on day 1b if you so wish.Day2(final day) will be 32 players.

It"s not a rebuy, it"s re-entry

The first £100 + £10 + £10 is 100 for the prizepool, 10 for registration and 10 for charity
All subsequent re-entries (not rebuy) are 100 for the prizepool and 10 for charity

It"s not a rebuy, it"s re-entry

A distinction without a difference.

Charity schmarity! It costs £120 to enter and £110 to re-enter. £100 goes in the pool and they take £20/£10. What they do with it is irrelevant.

The pokerstars site also says re-entrys at 5pm,so not sure if this means you have to wait till then to re enter,,sounds like it.

I flipped my seat to Day 1b as I had something to do on Saturday.

I got there at 12 happy to be playing in an EPT side event, after getting in for £12, due to a few techincal issues we got underway at 12.20, I was out of the door by 12:45.

6th hand in I get QJ in the sb.

Blinds are 25/25, early position raises to 75 and 4 people see the flop.

Flop brings QJ9. So I hit two pair but I wanted to control the pot to see another card, all folds around to the cut off who makes it 250 to go and I flat for the turn. I flatted here because I wanted to peel a card and evaluate. The others get out of the way.

Turn brings the Q, which gives me the nut boat. I check again and cut off fires 350. I made the decision to flat here because I wanted to get value from K10 or Q9 and J9, perhaps I could have raised it here.

River brings a 9, this is a bingo card for me in many ways, if he has any Q in his hand I"m getting his stack. So I lead for 650 into the 1500 chip pot. I didn"t really think about the bet sizing but I was looking for a raise, sure enough he goes all in and I snap.

I flip QJ feeling rather happy until he flips 99. GG me.

I snapped because I felt with 2nd nuts I was good, plus with 6k stacks and 25 min clock this is the time to get it in. I don"t think many would have got away there. And on the question of the raise turn, knowing the cards, if I raise at this point, it"s all going in anyway.

So there you go, he was ahead, I was ahead, he won. C"est la vie.
