Fish and Chips at the Sea Side: GUKPT Leg 8 Comes to Blackpool
Leg 8 of the GUKPT commences this weekend and brings eight full days of poker to the Promenade from the 6th-14th November at the G Casino, Blackpool. There are nine side events including two popular £100 freezeouts (and one bounty freezeout) at the end of the week, plus the £1,000 Main Event running through the following weekend.
Last year the Main Event attracted 287 players and gave Priyan de Mel the first of his two GUKPT titles and £84,900 in prize money. Blackpool was in 2009, as it is this year, the final leg of the tour before it returns to London for the Grand Final, and there will be a £60 rebuy super satellite to the Grand Final held here on Saturday 13th November.
Remember, remember the 5th of November: There is a £50 super satellite for Blackpool's Main Event on Friday 5th at 7:30pm, which guarantees ten seats with 40 players or more.
The full schedule for Leg 8:
Saturday 6th November £150 + £15 NL Hold'em Freezeout 7.30pm (1 day)
Sunday 7th November £100 + £10 NL Hold'em Rebuy 7.30pm (2 days)
Monday 8th November £200 + £20 NL Hold'em Freezeout 7.30pm (2 days)
Tuesday 9th November £500 + £50 NL Hold'em Freezeout 7.30pm (2 days)
Wednesday 10th November £150 + £15 PL Omaha Rebuy 6.00pm (1 day)
Wednesday 10th November £150 + £15 NLHE Super Satellite to Main Event 8.30pm (1 day)
Thursday 11th November £100 + £10 NL Hold'em Freezeout 7.30pm (1 day)
Friday 12th November £100 + £10 NL Hold'em Freezeout 7.30pm (1 day)
Saturday 13th November £60 NL Hold'em Rebuy Super Satellite to Grand Final 2.30pm (1 day)
Saturday 13th November £300 + £30 NL Hold'em Freezeout 7.30pm (2 days)
Sunday 14th November £100 + £10 NL Hold'em Bounty Tournament 5.00pm (1 day)
Thursday 11th November MT 78a £1,000 + £70 NL Hold'em Main Event Day 1a 2.00pm (3 days)
Friday 12th November MT 78b £1,000 + £70 NL Hold'em Main Event Day 1b 2.00pm (3 days)

To my mind, a days work isn"t complete until the overnights go up to wrap up a day"s play. Allows a proper pondering of the overnight situation as one slumbers and a proper examination by interested parties the next morning as they peruse forums for news of their mates.

Todd has made the money.........
In good shape too with 22 left.

expect Todd to win this, he came to table 2 fairly shortstacked, he was raising quite a lot without getting looked up, untill some muppet decided on the bb to hit back with an all in with A/10, and todd called withA/K
and yes that muppet was me .
Left me with 9k all in shortly after with A/K to be called by 8/9 which hit a straight.
all in all a great weekend.
Many thanks to APAT/Betfair for this weekend had a great time

Ah, thanks guys. What a great experience! So many well known faces, plus great to see the other APATers there. Brian"s relentless abuse kept me focussed. ;D And I"ve finally got one over on Paul Jackson after his last two guest appearances at BCPC!
Thanks to APAT again for the seat. Great value.
And finally, if I come up against Skalie at the next one I"m defo gonna avoid bluffing - very stessful when he dwells for about 10 mins, calls your hand perfectly and then eventually (thankfully) folds. Phew!
-
Well done Todd, great result
-
Well got there had a fantastic time, just missed out on the money in the £300 side event coming 15th out of 117 players with the top 11 getting paid
Still a great experience and will certainly be making the trip again next year (Hopefully without the 95 mph winds)
