Title: betfair down on the 31st jan
Post by: bigalhx3 on January 25, 2011, 20:21:04 PM
just had this email from betfair

We wanted to let you know that due to planned site maintenance and upgrade work, all Betfair products will be unavailable from:

00:01 GMT on Monday 31st January.

This planned work is expected to last for several hours. During this time Betfair.com, including our sports exchange, casino, arcade, poker, API and mobile products, will be unavailable.

We have planned this work around the end of key sporting events on Sunday 30th January and with the aim of having the Exchange back up and running in time for the start of UK Horseracing on the afternoon of Monday 31st January (GMT). Please be aware, that while we will be doing our best  to have the sports exchange  operational again on Monday afternoon, it is anticipated that all other products such as poker, casino and arcade will continue to be unavailable until later on that day.

The upgrade work is being undertaken to bring long-term benefits to our customers and we will be working hard to get normal service resumed on the site as quickly as possible.

We"d like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.

Can"t believe they would schedule tourneys knowing there is downtime planned.  It should finish okay. (Famous last words)

What makes it worse was I"ve just played in Betfair Live London tournament (having done well on MTT leaderboard) and missed out on 1 of 2 packages but won a 4/4 seat played on Sundays. Not this week though it has been cancelled.
Just hope a sunday before runs.

Strange to take down during their most busy period volume wise. Though after last few weeks problems they really need to do some fixing of problems.
