Post by: Mikeyboy9361 on February 04, 2011, 22:24:03 PM
Okay, 2010 might have been the APAT year of the Welsh, but the might of Englands Chariot was far too great for the Welsh Dragon tonight! Come on England lets TID this year!! :)

LOL, the score line didn"t reflect Englands superiority, and with three games at Twickenham now, things are looking rosey.

Okay, looking forward to another 6 nations weekend, will be recording the England match to watch after playing my game this afternoon ( I must be getting too old for this!)
So predictions - England to win by 15 points, Scotland to beat Wales by 5, and France to just shade Ireland by 3. Any thoughts?

Probably not far off on the other two, but Ireland will have to improve a hell of a lot on last week to get that close.

My thoughts are France wont be that good again ( after all they are France), and Ireland can"t be that bad !! And its in Ireland.

England will destroy Italy today > 20pts

Wales & Scotland are evenly matched, however I reckon it will be Wales by 7

Ireland V France - given the scale of improvement that Ireland must achieve and the depth that Fance must sink to I have got to believe and go with the heart  ;D - Ireland by 6

Scotland v Wales should be good today.

I may be a touch bias but I think Scotland will win.  ;D

Wales played very well, particularly in defence, but Scotland showed no flair going forward and certainly missed the big blonde lad up front.
England demolished Italy with a near flawless performance, great performances by Haskell up front and pretty much the whole back line, Foden was quiet, and still not sure about Hape.
Interested in how the Irish bounce back today, and which French team turn up, just has to turn down some tickets for the England France game, gutted!

Scotland were shocking yesterday ... fair play to Wales ... but 3 points scored vs 14/13 men ... unbelievable ...

Okay England were a little better than 15 points, Scotland disappointed, but France and Ireland ....spot on!

Wales to run over a lack lustre Italy by at least 15 points, England to beat France by 8 points, Yachvilli keeping the frogs in it with the boot. Scotland to just edge out Ireland, they cannot be as bad as they were against Wales,  with Richie Gray back, Blair is a far better option than Lawson, and even though Jackson at 10 is a bit untried at this level, he has got to be better than Dan Parks!

Oh possibly, although the Italian pack is solid and well schooled, however the Welsh backs will shade it

England to beat France by 8 points
I think the margin will be bigger, England are well disciplined and should not give as many penalties away as we did.

Scotland to just edge out Ireland
Now that"s just plain mean  ;D Ireland have ROG and Tommy Bowe back and will be all the better for it. Ireland for me of course (Head & Heart)

Okay, one time please Ireland.

Ireland to beat Scotland by less than 12.5pts for a nice 13/1 payday.  Wales and England have done there bit, now don"t let me down.

Even half my stake back (Thanks Betfair) won"t make up for this not happening.

Scrappy but entertaining game, what is the obsession with the grubber kick or the dink over the top! Ireland look more likely with the ball in hand, Wales seem indecisive, on a couple of occasions they have overlaps and delayed and its come to nothing. Anybodies game.

Yep hats off to the Jocks who put up a brave fight, particularly up front, their play in the loose was excellent, and what about Patterson"s tackle. But England prevailed, and the Grand Slam is still on! :)

I did love the French Coach"s press statement after the Italian game :-

Quote

Earlier on Sunday, Lievremont launched a scathing attack on his players for their display against Italy.

"Do I feel responsible for that? No, they betrayed us, they have betrayed me and they have betrayed the French national team shirt," he said.

"In terms of the tactics deployed, it defied belief. I did not recognise anything in their performance that we had worked on.

"Do you really think that I told them to play as they did against Italy? I was ashamed. I do not have the impression we asked them to walk on the moon. I do not ask for complicated things.

"This match was an hallucination. I do not want to absolve myself of blame but they invented things on the pitch."

"They are lacking in courage. They are good guys but cursed with what is obviously cowardice," added Lievremont, who refused to address the players after the match, such was his fury, and only singled out captain Thierry Dusautoir and wing Vincent Clerc for praise.

Grand Slam weekend! Lets hope so. :)
Scotland v Italy, Scotland by 5
France v Wales , Going for a famous victory for the Welsh, by 3 points
The big one. Ireland will bring it to England, and it is going to be mightily tough, but England will have too much for the Irish and prevail by 8 points.

England are showing some promising signs of turning into a good team, but we"re nowhere near the finished article. I just think that Ireland will want to shove it up us soooo badly and I"m worried that we"ll be like rabbits in the headlights. That together with home advantage for the Irish adds up to a home win imo.

I cannot tell you how much I hope I"m wrong.

You had it spot on Jack, the Irish started at 100 miles an hour and England had no answer, their game plan just fell apart and they were blown away. Well played Ireland awesome performance, but where was that team for the duration of the tournament!
Well played Scotland, comfortable in the end.
Sorry Leigh, even though I think the Welsh might just sneak it, can"t see "em getting the required points.
