From PokerStars blog....
10.15pm: Owston is in the house
We thought it had been quiet. Serial satellite and general troublemaker Dan Owston has just arrived and, as usual, he"s started celebrating several days early. Owston went deep several times last year but stood as just as much for his prolific performances in casino bars the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland.
"You"re so sexy, I love you so much," Owston"s voice echoed into the press room. He wasn"t talking to a lady. "Ooooo, can I have a chip?" He is already battered and providing a lot of entertainment. The tour wouldn"t be the same without him. He"ll be playing, probably loudly, tomorrow. -- RD

+1 yours truly in the 1B today - popped in last night to get a sense of atmosphere, absolute madness, never seen it so busy. I was able to get weekend off to a great start with +1 Buyin on £1-2 cash table with 3 uber aggressive scandies, note to self checking the turn with paired Ace is the nuts, they just can"t help themselves but fire a big bluff on the river ty gg wp.
My first UKIPT and the structure looks great, planning a quiet start and take it from there. Good luck to all the other APAT"ers in this and the Betfair live event, bring it on!

Winding back the clock - Dave Colclough is overnight chip leader!

Not sure whether the "El Blondie" tag is entirely relevant now though

for the record, Al was down to 2k during level one of this tourney, and never got back above starting stack until late evening, yet came back for day 2 with nearly 70k - awesome shortstack grinding!!
I was never quite that short, but after a cooler in level 4, I never got above 20xBB until the last level, and came back for day2 with 18xBB - 36k.
Fantastic tournament structure!!
-
defently the flop u want with 7d 8d

Congrat, well done Steve and Rudders, nice cash.
@Rudders
Seems this season it runs better for you. Spend a few hours at your table last year. Do you remember last hand of day 1 my A10 vs AJ. ;)

remind me! I tend to remember lots of hands but by the end of the day it all becomes a blur.... day 2 this year was better for me this year.. last year bb called 13bb shove by me with qsjs v my asks turned a house
This time 3 bet shoved my way to the money. was on a table where my 40k was surrounded by 6 200k+ stacks and an 80k stack - 2 of them where around the 400k mark- bloody hard work tbh. luck ran out when i 3 bet shoved tt into bbs jj - orig raiser had ats sigh. had very few premium hands tbh no aa kk but felt i played pretty well. 1.2k was nice but 110k would have been nicer. thanks for all the messages of support - it really helps.
