APAT are pleased to confirm details of the UK Online Poker Championship, taking place at 888poker from 8pm on Saturday, April 16th.
The entry fee for the event is $50 + $5, and players entering will start with 10,000 chips and 15 minute blind levels.
The winner of the event will receive a significant cash prize, National Title & Gold Medal and an entry to a UKIPT Main Event.
Satellites to the Online Championship event will be available at 888poker on Monday 11th April, Tuesday 12th April and Wednesday 13th April. Each satellite will offer one seat awarded for every $55 in the prizepool.
Monday 11th April 2010 - 8pm - $15+$1.50 Freezeout
Tuesday 12th April 2010 - 8pm - $10+$1 Freezeout
Wednesday 13th April 2010 - 8pm - $5+50c Rebuy
In addition to the main event, APAT are pleased to confirm the UK Online PL Omaha Event, taking place at 888poker from 9pm on Saturday, April 16th.
The entry fee for the event is $20 + $2, and players entering will start with 5,000 chips and 15 minute blind levels.
The winner of the event will receive a cash prize as per standard 888poker payouts, and an entry to an APAT National Championship event.
There will be one satellite available at 888poker on Wednesday 13th April at 8pm. This will be a $5+50c PLO Freezeout and will offer one seat for every $22 in the prizepool.
Both events are Ranking events; with 18 points available to the winner of the Main event and 9 points available to the winner of the Pot Limit Championship event.

quick question
i will hopefully be otherwise engaged on Saturday as i am playing the Monte Carlo at DTD but will prob play the APAT events if i am out. If i try and qualify for Saturday and have to pull out, will i get my buyin back or a tournament credit of some sort please.
need to know this before i play the sats

Not completely sure, as they auto enter you for the target event.
I will ask, but won"t get a response before tonights sat.

You choose the UKIPT to play. You can"t sell the seat. Use it or lose it.

Some observations 2 hours in...
NLHE going ok, not overly eventful for me
I am so bad at PLO it"s actually a bit embarrassing
It is very difficult to make 2 x Moscow Mules during the 5 minute break

sick NLH tourney - limp (200) x 2... I raise 1200 with AKs, utg limper shoves 9k with AJo - I call, AJ >>> AK of course.
Back up to 10k, see a A84 flop with 44 and get all in and lose v 88

Taking the Lasse Viren approach to this. Was 4/99 when I left, went for a nice meal, but I"m back now 47/51 with 10BB and something similar in the Omaha - so let"s see what happens.

was getting nothing got down to half starting stack after second break shoved all in with JJ got called with QQ nothing for anyone on the board

Goodluck to all playing this, was always going to struggle with it being the first match of the new cricket season, on a positive note we won! Good solid play, no luck, just reward for quality play.....just wish poker was like that!

That"s me out in 12th.
short stacked and shoved with 10 10 pre flop, got called with AQ, i hit trip 10s on the turn and the other guy hit the straight on the river :(. Could have snuck up to like a 50k stack there.
1st time I have cashed in one of the online events so pleased with that.

Poor old Ant lost most of his stack when set under set 88 v JJ . I finished him off when I 2 outered him with 88 v JJ (cruel). I then got outflopped by Tim AA v TT. technichally not a bad beat as the money went in on the flop but my bet size pre had me pot committed.

Just out 4th in the PLO at 1.45am. I"d normally agree about the antes but speed it up if you remove them.

Wiiiii - was good to book a win in the Omaha after blowing a huge lead in the holdem. And especially after my broadband had a "moment" just 0.0005 seconds before I pressed the Call button to call 10,000 more chips in a 120,000 pot in the heads-up.
Leigh - you need to get 888 to change the info in the lobby for the Omaha tourneys. It says that there is a bonus UKIPT seat for the winner, so I was quite happy about that, and it was only when I looked at this thread this morning that I saw it"s just an APAT seat (which is still nice to have).

I think all the PLO tourneys on 888 have antes - personally think it"s a great idea, and doesn"t seem to change the overall dynamics all that much.

That is incredible considering most of the NLHE tourneys on 888 do not.
Agree that it didn"t spoil the game, but antes in PL games is just fundamentally wrong. Its a bit like playing a stud game with blinds and/or no bring in

There"s absolutely nothing wrong with antes in an online PLO game.
The only reason they"re not used in live games is because it makes it much more difficult for dealers to work out what the pot is, and therefore what a pot-sized raise is.
As this is all done automatically online, antes in online PLO should be OK.

Bri may have spoken to me about it before... I asked Steve Redfern about it. But because i work shifts etc. And now i live an hours drive from West Bromwich i might only be able to show up once in the season. :)
