Hoping for a bit of advice...
I am in Vegas at the moment and, as for the last two years, was hoping to play in a WSOP event. Two years ago I played on of the $1500 NLHE events, and last year I played one of the new $1000 events, both very good. The one-hour clock gave you loads of time.
This year the WSOP is starting a week later than last year, so not until tomorrow instead of last week (I have to come this week, being a teacher). This means the $1000 event is the coming Saturday, when I fly home. My only chance for a cheap(er) WSOP event is the $1500 Omaha High/Low event on Wednesday. I quite like the format, although it is limit, which turns it into a bit of a lottery.
So do I go for it, or play in something like the Venitian $550 event and save $1000?
Looking forward to your views.
P.S. Had a comedy day playing cash at the Bellagio yesterday. I"ll tell you about it at Glasgow.

Those venetian events are awesome, have big fields and great prizes - plus it is a superbly ran cardroom

Easy choice IMO Venitian!! Great structures and a wide range of skill levels if you know what i mean!
Make sure you get one of their player cards (you have to have one) prior to buying in as if you leave too late there is a big queue!

After all that one way advice, the Venitian, of course!
I played the $550 event on Monday as well as the Wednesday. No luck in the first and cashed for $1220 in the second (29th out of 361 runners). I was above average in chips and went a bit mad with AK. Up against QQ and didn"t hit. I win that flip and it"s a definite final table with $41,000 1st prize. Probably should have just called his raise and folded the flop. You live and learn.
I got my Omaha Hi/Low fix yesterday at Caeser"s ($130 deepstack event). It was good fun, but it made me realise that spending $1500 on a LIMIT event would have been very frustrating. I came 45th out of 135.
$350 Caesar"s event today starting in 90 mins. Not as good as the Venitian, but not bad - 20k in chips and 30 min levels. Last year the Caesar"s events had 50 min levels over two days. Not sure why it changed.
Fly home tomorrow.
How"s you luck?
