I just got a royal flush and I realized its the only straight/royal flush I have had since I started playing back in August. I was curious and looked up the odds and its was ridiculous how small the chances were. I got 649,740 to 1.
I was wondering how many royal/straight flushes the people here who have been playing for huge periods of time for many years have gotten.
Like can you guys keep track, or what? I"m just curious as to how many the people here have gotten since they started playing.

Ive been playing for over 10 years now online and live just a little less time.
Royal flushes I have probably had about 20, only one live though. As for straight flushes, well I wouldn"t know but a lot , guess over 100+. However I do play Omaha a lot so much more likely there.
-
Had straight flush live 2 hands in a row once. Never had Royal live.
-
3 Royal flushes.Once on a play money table on Stars when I was learning the game, once in an on line tourney, and once live, last week at the APAT pub team tourney, unfortunately I was short stacked at the time, and my double up only took me to 4K!
-
6 Royals online, none live.
Flopped a royal in the first level of the Sunday Million a couple of years ago - had KQss, flop AJTsss..... other guy had limped AA - it all went in went he turned the case A for quads :)
-
Once live (local AceofCLubs game) and once online. Been playing since 2004.

I got a Royal Flush in my local G casino in a cash game. They generously give a bottle of champagne to every player that achieves this.
This has been going on for at least the last two years. You can either collect it later to take home, or more commonly you open it at the time and share it with the other players at the table.
I was once at a table at 3am when the lucky lady that got the Royal happened to be teetotal. Me and two others shared it out and I ended up leaving my car and getting a taxi home :D

7 royals. All online. 2 flopped royal"s
-
2 royals, 1 online which I flopped, min raised and all folded :(
Other was at a local meetup game, had it on the turn if I recall and by the river I was shaking so bad I couldnt pick up chips and was twitching like a mad dog. Needless to say my opponant folded LOL

Maybe it"s just me, but I tend to just forget about them. More likely to recall suckouts or other more interesting hands. I seem to recall a RF online last year where the 9 also came on the board. Also think I had one online last week but the river came and went so quickly that I wasn"t sure & didn"t bother to check. May have had others live or online but don"t recall them.
I generally get a straight flush about once a month on average, but that"s cos I play live most nights - I assume people playing mainly online would get a lot more.
Best royal flush bad beat goes to RaggieMaggie, who had a royal flush and had to split the pot!
-
when i was putting real volume in last year I would get a straight flush on average about once a week

Only ever had 1 royal, it was live at walsall ages ago.
From Doyle Brunsons book he says he has only ever had 2 royals, and i know from Negranues blog that he got his first royal a couple of months ago. So they are really rare.

One time in a Live Event with holecards :as: js and Flop came down qs ts ks and SB raised allin with ad1 jc. Full pay out, nice spot. ;) Another RF online, can"t remember the board.

They might be rare for someone like Doyle who has only ever played live.... but for the kids who now play umpteen tables for many hours a day, and get through 100k hands per month, rarity has a different value.

Agree with this.... I think I"ve had a Royal Flush, maybe more than one,but I couldn"t tell you about them!!! have had straight flushes but can"t remember anything about them or where I was playing!
However..........
I can easily remember APAT Luton 2009: I shoved with KK and was out-drawn by Jx who made trips..... I came back from that to make Day2 and eventually got crippled holding KK by As Jx making his flush on the river with the Ks!!
I can easily remember APAT D2D 2010: I was BB, UTG min-raised, folded round to me and I thought "he"s got Kings" but I was short stacked with AJo and went all-in, he called and showed KK. I hit an A on the flop, he hit K on the river!
I can easily remember APAT Luton 2010: 3 remaining. I min raised on the button with KK, SB folds, BB calls.... flop: J 8 x. BB bets, I go all-in, they show J8. No help on turn or river!
We"re not built to remember good stuff, we just remember how to moan and whinge!! ;D
Looking at this pocket Kings could be seen as a bad hand for me but there are, I"m sure, many times they have won me countless chips!

Never had a Royal live but have had a good 12-15 online, straight flushes i come by online at least 2-3 a week most weeks i would say, but only had 2 live that i remember... Could probably dig out screenshots of most the royals too if i had the time lol....(how sad!!!!)
Peace

I have been beaten twice by Royal flushes live - once at Sahara last year when I"m proud not to have gone bust with my trip aces and once at Walsall. Can"t remember the board but I got knocked out of the tournie and the guy with the hand got dinner on the casino :-[
1st hand I played at Orleans in thier big Friday night tournie in March I got a straight flush and nearly busted a super scary regular female player. I think I must have had a couple more live but can"t remember the circumstances.
Online I don"t play much but have seen both far more often - once saw two Royals in the same $1 tournie which seemed like a real waste when the winner only got $14!!
-
A long time ago I remember playing a hand on Party Poker, where two guys made it to the river on a ts js qs ks :as: board. One guy went all in, the other FOLDED! The cards weren"t in order so I could only think that the other guy misread the board. I used to have the hand history but it"s now lost as it happened in about 2003.
-
One live Royal Flush at Walsall in the PokerPlayer event in 2008....got a meal voucher for that and talked them into giving me a 2nd one for the wife.
I lost the one voucher and still haven"t used the other one !
-
Probably don"t play enough online tbh, no Royals but 2 str flushes live, had one last Friday night at G Coventry which was quite sweet!
PLHE 50p-£1 Pit game
Back Story - Few regs I generally have a tight nitty image at Cov but went all-in on my 3rd hand for rest of my £100 initial stake on bluff post flop with AK after re-re raising pre, villan had QJ and called on Q high board and I didnt hit.
This certainly got me plenty of action and built back up to £160 from another £100 pullup.
The hand ad1 5s and I"m in the cut-off, raise it up to 7 pre 3 callers including the BB.
Flop 4s :3s: :2s:, happy days flopped straight chk,chk and I put in £10 to see where I was , two callers.
Turn came 6s , weee chk, chk(BB) and I have to decide how to play it hoping one of them is trapping with a K or A of spades. I decide on making it £15, fold(SB) and BB goes for the min raise. I tank and put on my best I am weak performance, all in I announce and I get snapped off with BB showing :as: after I quickly turn over and announce straight flush.
Real cooler hand, felt for the BB, reversed I call every time.
