In addition to the above I also checked Premier Inn. Their Brighton Hotel is pricey so I"ve booked Burgess Hill for £29 per night, for Saturday and Sunday. It"s just off the A23 on the way into Brighton, so if anyone else fancies a cab share this seems like a good alternative.

i live in Burgess Hill and it is no mean feat getting to the Rendezvous, although only about a 20 minute drive (should be if using the back roads) if you are going to drive down using A23 on a Saturday morning add another 10 minutes or so.

The casino, I believe, has no parking of its own...so SOL would be my guess.

EDIT: Wrong (perhaps)...see below.

What"s the damage for the CP opposite the casino outside of the 4 hours?

Do you have car parking facilities?

Yes, we have ample parking plus a valet service is available free of charge from 6pm weekdays and 1pm at weekends.

Looks like we could be OK.

There"s a nice little B&B called PASKINS in Kemptown. Normally about £45 a night.

Alternatively, one could simply live in Brighton, 10 minutes walk from the casino. GET IN!

Yes...but what"s the maximum time I can leave it there?

For instance, could I park it there on Friday and leave it there until Sunday?

I guarantee I"ll be in the casino on all 3 days.

For what it"s worth...

If you have Holiday Inn points you can get the Holiday Inn Brighton Seafront for 15000 points + $60 (£40) per night.

Parking onsite is something on the order of £10 - £18 per night.

Booked.

as a Brightonian to clear up a few things.

To my knowledge, the multi storey car park opposite the Rendezvous is free parking full stop !!!! It is like 30yards in front of casino and I was leaving my car there for 24hrs still in the summer.   So, unless it"s changed recently, you can leave your car there as long as you want.  There is a big ASDA that has it"s own parking where you have to pay unless your shopping there (maybe even if you are shopping I don"t know) but I don"t know the details for that as never used it.

also, if your staying in Brighton it"s like 15 mins walk along the seafront or probs £7 cab ride so likely still cost less than paying to park in town

DO NOT EAT AT BUDDIES.  Once was enough for me and I was hammered post clubbing and still horrible.

That was what I remembered but my sister tells me that they have recently changed this.

So it"s not such a good option.

Unless they"ve decided it wasn"t working and have, even more recently, changed it back

FYI - Was at Rendez last night and asked a few people re multi story which I"m told is still free to park.  Makes sense as it"s an attraction to go down there for people.  I also drive through it on way out and I didn"t see any signs either way or and ticket machines so seems it"s still free.

For anyone staying in Brighton, unless you have free parking, it"s probably gonna be cheaper for you to park there for the weekend and taxi/bus back and forth (bust stop directly outside casino).  As said it"s also only a 15 minute seafront walk (1 mile) to town if you fancy that, tho I wouldn"t advise it after dark as you walk past a well known stereotypical for Brighton, outside activities area  !!!

The marina website states 4 hours free parking. Haven"t been there since the summer so can"t comment on any recent changes. I never had a problem before though.

IF it has changed then we should just ask the casino to allow valet parking a little earlier

I"ll be interested to see if things have changed regarding valet parking there. Their website says "we have ample parking plus a valet service is available free of charge from 6pm weekdays and 1pm at weekends". Available is one thing, but the last time I was there, about two years ago, the valet insisted that he was parking my car. I insisted he wasn"t and he invented some lie about me not being insured to park it myself. We had a standoff for quite a while until his manager came and I was allowed to park my own car.

Why would you not let a valet park your car ? you prang it, your insurance, they prang it, they pay for damage !!!

As mentioned in the player briefing thread, the parking is apparently 4 hours max but the cardroom people don"t think it"s monitored as they park their own cars there when on long shifts with no problems.  It"s probably more a mon - fri thing if monitored at all as closest you can park to Brighton and not pay

I"ll be (quite) sober most of the weekend so just keep me away from cash tables if I"ve been loitering too long at the bar at any point  ;D

I have driven the best part of a million miles without ever pranging anything, so I"m willing to take the risk that it won"t happen while I park it this time.
