Title: What is the longest "dwell" in poker history?
Post by: Honeybadg on November 03, 2011, 15:22:18 PM
I don"t know the answer - but did play with a guy who made a micro raise into a sizable pot before passing out.

We refunded all the bets - but what would the correct action be here?

Wasn"t it that bloke in Devilfish"s book who actually died from a heart attack during a hand ?

Re-raise after he passes out and call the clock!

It was a very odd hand I should have given more detail.

I think it was 25p/50p - UTG the soon to be passed out player raises to £7 - he gets three callers including myself - last to act.

He then bets £1.50 into the pot and collapses - so we have three players to act - I didn"t have a killer hand - going by reactions nor did anyone else - but after 10 mins with him on the deck we called it a dead hand and split the pot back out.

Andy Overton pushes the boundaries every time he plays. But he does have a lot to think about. Does a flush beat a straight etc.

I can remember once when todd took about 10 mins to check once at a BCPC game.

I think you"re vastly overestimating my thinking process. I"m usually just thinking about boobs.

You see. There"s a hell of a lot to consider. I don"t have time for all this fancy "does a flush beat a straight" nonsense! Just think about boobs for a bit then if you fancy a gamble stick all your chips in the middle, see what happens.

I feel sick. Now I realise where I"ve been going wrong. This is exactly why forums are such a good thing. Nuggets of information like this are just golden. TYVM Andy, will give it a go.

PS Don"t tell everyone they"ll all be doing it  ;)

You could"ve rang NHS Direct, wait 3 hours for a nurse to ring back then declare the hand void.

Super marginal hand given the team dynamics - I guess the whole table dwelled with him.

Good memories which I had forgotten.

Paul Jackson told me that when he was in "That" hand with Phil Ivey, what the tv didn"t show was that Ivey dwelt for about 15 mins at the end.
Paul said "I wanted to call the clock but was scared to speak as my throat was so dry I thought I wouldn"t be able to!"
