I"ve setup a mini league for the Guinness Fantasy Rugby Competition.
You can find all the details -here (http://fantasyrugby.guinness.com)
The mini league is called "APAT 6 Nations" and the password is "apatmember"
There are unlimited trasnfers up until the first matches, so no harm in getting a team registered.
There are prizes up for grabs through Guinness, such as a years supply of the black stuff, but I will also arrange some sort of prize for the winner of our mini league.
If you need any further info, feel free to discuss on this thread.
The winner of the APAT Mini League will receive a crate of 24 Guinness (likely have to ship the cash for this one, unless I just buy you pints at the next live event), plus some Guinness and APAT merchandise.

Spotted a coouple of French names so they"re in my team, a couple of Jones, O"Gara for captain (doesn"t he also kick penalties?) and that"s good enough for me. Only actually know one of the Scots I picked :D

Unlimited transfers are available until 11am tomorrow by the looks of it.

Maybe just me but i think Scotland are a cracking bet at 11/8 in the calcutta cup clash today. Although beaten by england in the world cup, they were the better team for 60 minutes and if they had finished off their chances would have won.Home advantage against a some what inexperienced team ,has to be Scotland for me.
-
21 in so far. Unlimited changes ends at 11am this morning, but you can still enter a team after that.
Remember it"s free to enter, and the winner of the APAT league will win a case of Guinness and some Guinness and APAT merchandise.
Good luck everyone.

Completely agree with that Micky. First time for ages, the media seem to be playing down England"s chances. On the BBC news this morning they were claiming that Scotland must be the favourites for the game due to the inexperience of the England team, but the bookies don"t seem to agree with that.
On Betfair, you can get 2.4 (7/5) on Scotland, with England at 1.84 (5/6)
If you really want to go patriotic, how about Scotland to win -7.5pts in the handicap at 3/1 ?
-
Sctoland, I agree. Odds on bet afai am concerned
Ire v Wal should be v close
tempted by the Skybet 6-1 Scotland/Wales guaranteed price double
-
Just seen this.
Have entered a team, but might be too late.

-
I"m probably missing something but why did France play in all white at home? ???

Unlike football it"s common for the home team to use their alternative strip as both play in blue
-
Is there more than one R.Jones in the Wales team? I got no points for mine coz according to Guinness he didn"t play ???

Very very glad he didn"t get awarded that try in first half then :D
-
I"d have done a lot better had I been able to put Sexton in over O"Gara. Sadly the website doesn"t work on iPhone, sigh.
-
How do you get -points, Ger? :D

A few points.
I"m not sure how my brother has smashed my score, but he"s not technically an APATer, so I will delete him if this continues. ;)
I don"t know how Pables has got two teams in this, but they look different. ???
I don"t know how Ger has managed to score minus points, but the league table is bound to cheer him up after yesterday. :-*
-
Well I am screwed this week, 9 of my players are French or Irish. I hope the French win, I have more of them.
-
WTF!!! Surely i should be in 9th place above Grant due to Alphabetical scoring system sigh.... :D :D :D :D
Dont worry Ger its early days ;D
-
Oh FFS... That is all
-
Well FML, with the scoring giving -3 to all players on the losing side I nose dived dramatically because 80% of my team were on the losing side. I will be employing a different strategy next week - I will ignore this totally ;D
-
I"m nearly glad I missed out on this. :) Rugby is not on my list of favourite tv sports at the moment!
Think Wales will win it all.
-
Got to be hoping for a French, English and Welsh win this weekend.
Will be interesting how the move to the Stadio Olimpico goes for the Italian Rugby team.
-
It looks like it could be the same three teams winning again this week as last week, although I will concede that England are perhaps the least likely to oblige.

Watch it ;D
I have made some strategic substitutions this week to get me positive at least (although If Ireland lose I will go deeper into the red >:( )
-
Shocking state of affairs in Paris, game postponed only 5 minutes before the kick off because some areas of the pitch are frozen. It"s not like the poor weather and low temp has been an overnight thing, so why not call off the game much earlier and give people the chance to avoid the travel costs etc. >:(

Re arranged for 4 March 2012
Points will still be scored in the competition but there will be no additional transfers allowed in that week
-
Have to say it"s buggered up my strategy, If I ever really had one lol
They should just be awarding the points to team picked for week 2 in my opinion

Scotland waiting on a few injury concerns before announcing team
Italians always late in announcing
England , actually, who cares which XV they pick ;D
-
Hopefully England drop Ben "delivers slower than second class post" Youngs, picks Welshman Ben Morgan and also Manu for Brad "built like an outhouse, only the outhouse is faster" Barritt. We might look a bit handier then
As it is, zzzzz

Defo got to start with Dickson, where has Young"s zip gone? Morgan at 8, Barritt has done really well in defence, but offers nothing in attack, so Manu is the obv choice. But as Leigh says, I don"t think it matters who we pick the Welsh are so hot at the moment, still we can always hope.
-
Do you get 4 subs each weekend or is it 4 subs throughout the tournament? or in duke"s case 15 :D
-
I"m pretty sure it"s four during the whole tournament.
-
4 each week (I"ve already made 8 transfers)

Brilliant ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Looking at a good English win today ;D
-
I could really do with the Scotland v France game finishing 0-0 with lots of missed kicks, yellow cards and half-time subs... :D

Hey I am in the black - result !!!!

Forgot all about this then discovered my captain (Yashvili) has been injured :D

Not wanting to "big up" oneself but I am currently 14th overall in this with the final round of games this weekend
I am 31 points behind the leader so it will be difficult to win it outright - but stranger things have happened and the years supply of Guinness could be coming our way...
-

Great stuff James.
