Hi Kevin - Wikipedia suggests it is Yorkshire & Humber.

Recruitment starts now

It's just over 2 weeks before the start of the league and we need to get more people sign up. So can I ask you to start asking your friends, your home games at the casino on facebook etc. We have made a good start with 21 (Thank you) so far but we need more, we don't need to be a big team to win but more the merry. I will put up a full list of names in a couple of days

Thanks
Wayne

With us now playing on PS and we have allot of new players can I suggest that you get to know the poker ID"s of your team mates.( I put it in the players notes that they are a Y&H player) I will be putting up a thread each week with who is playing that week. Can I ask you to post if you are playing, (this will help me). If you are at a table with a TEAM mate but you think that they don"t know you, tell them you are on the same TEAM

The first game of the league is this Sunday the 11th at 7.00 with a 1 hour late registration. $10+$1 on PokeStars, you can find it under Tournaments/Private/APAT password apatmember

At the moment we have 36 registered players on the forum which is great. If we can get 20 or more to play each week then I think we have a big chance of winning this. Knowing some of you and after talking to some of the new members, I think the quality we have will be better than the quantity of the other teams.

I have started a thread (week 1) where I shall try to keep you up to date with what"s happening in the game but it"s there for you to post in, any bad beat stories, who knocked you out and general chit chat.

I started a thread about a "last longer" but they was not allot of interest in it so I won"t be running it but I will still be doing it as a best player competition, no prizes just for fun to see who is the best Y&H player (I may buy you a pint). I will add the two leagues together to find the season 6 best player.

That"s it for now, good luck to you all and lets show them how good Yorkshire & Humberside players are.

Wayne

So that"s week 1 done and dusted. We had 29 out of a possible 43 which is great, if we have that kind of turnout each week we will be competitive for the rest of the season. But that does not mean we don"t won"t any more players, we do, so keep spreading the word about this league, the more we have the better chance we have.

Congratulations to Paul, Dean and James who all finished in the points, if it wasn"t for some bad beats towards the end, the outcome would have been allot different. With 50 players left we had 5 players in the top 27.

You can now register for week 2, you can find the tournament:

PokerStars/Tournament/Private/APAT password apatmember

I will put up a week2 thread, can you please post on there if you are playing, with the amount of players I found it difficult to keep up with who"s playing and chip counts and exits, (you will be helping me out). I tried my best this week but I took my eye of my own game so next week I won"t be updating as much until I"m out but you can post on how you are doing.

There has been a great deal of discussion on the structure; particularly on the Captains board, following last weekend"s opening match in the National Online League.

As a result APAT and the Captains have agreed to test a slightly reduced structure for match 2. This will consist of 4,000 starting chips and 12 minute blinds - a structure which is still deeper than PokerStars own deep stack structure. These changes should see the final table completing around 12.30am.

We look forward to seeing you all ahead of match 2 and as always, we will listen to your feedback following that match also - but hope the changes we"ve made will allow an even greater number of players to enjoy the PokerStars.com National Online League.

Des

Just so you know I was in favour of this. APAT are always listening to its members and will change things if the majority asks for it. They as been some resistance to the change but overall I think this is a good move for the majority. It had to be made now before players stopped playing due to the late finish plus it makes it easier to rail your teammates after all it is a team game. If things change in the future "I"m sure that APAT will listen

Hi

Week2 again was a "so close but so far away game"

There was 454 runners of which we had 26 of them. This was down from last week but still a very good turnout since it was mother's day. As in every league, as the weeks go by the runners gets less and less if we keep our numbers up this would make us stronger. At the moment we have 46 registered players so if we can get 30 players each week would be great. Scotland are the early leaders and they have the biggest team so numbers do help but that alone does not guarantee you points. We have had 3 in the points in both weeks but not manage to get any points, we need at least one to get to the FT

There's been allot of talk about the structure. I voted for a reduction in time but not in chips however Des was told by Pokerstars if we need to finish by 1.00 am then we had to have 4k, and they was right the game finished at 12.45 which was the aim of APAT. If you have any views on this then let me know but I'm happy with 4k and 12 minutes but if you tell me different then I shall change Y&H stance on this.

Week 3 is up in the lobby, please play if you can.

Thanks
Wayne

Hello, boys and girls

I hope you are enjoying all the lovely weather we are having (according to the weather man) all I can see is fog. But It"s better than the weather in Malaysia

Tonight is the third game in the APAT league. 7.00 start with a 1 hour lat reg
You can find the tournament in Tournaments/Private APAT National Online League

Password: apatmember

The first 2 weeks we had 3 players in the scoring points but unfortunately did not get any team points. If we keep doing this the points will come.

I have changed the scoring system for the "Player of the season"
the top 10 Y&H players will get points
1st 15pts
2nd 12
3rd 10
4th 8
5th 6
6th 5
7th 4
8th 3
9th 2
10th 1pt

Week 3 thread is up, please post in it if you are playing are if you cannot see your name (especially if you late reg)

I hope you can play tonight but I Know some of you have other commitments

Good luck
Wayne

Well done to AcesSteve111 and willow333hul for reaching the final table and in doing so collecting 2 team points. We finished joint 3rd but on count back we wear placed 4th due to Scotland having more scoring players. Yet again some  bad beats just at the wrong time. Adilong1 AJ v 37, PL-Avongirl K9 v K8 to name but 2.

What I was most pleased about was the amount of runners we had. In week 1 we had 30, week 2 26 and week 3 we had 25. Although the trend seems to be going down if you compared it to the amount of total  runners, week 1 we had 5.48% week 2 5.72% and in week 3 it was 7.55%. So whilst the other teams get fewer runners, if we keep it at the same level we become a stronger team.

We have 46 players of which 37 of us have played at least 1 game. I don't know if the other 9 are going to play but the more we get to play the better chance we have of winning so can you please conceder playing.

Scotland have got a big team and that is proving to be a big advantage but so do the North West and they have zero so big is not always best. (ask the Mrs)

I appreciate the support so far, the next 3 weeks will be critical as players will start to loose interest if the team is not doing well but if we keep together we won't be one of them.

Wayne

This Sunday will have 3 new levels added to the structure which should offer more play in the first 2 hours but still have a 1am finish (hopefully)

Also on Sunday APAT are running a £25 + £2.50 satellite in to the DTD £1m UKIP which will start at 8.00pm using the same structure as the league game.  For more details    http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=10903.0

Hi

Tonight is the 4th game in the APAT league. 7.00 start with a 1 hour lat reg
You can find the tournament in Tournaments/Private APAT National Online League

Password: apatmember

Last week was the first time we got any points, tonight will be the second time.

Please play if you can, the next 2/3 weeks are going to be crucial as other teams start to drop in numbers, we will become a stronger team if we keep getting 25+ runners.

Week 4 thread is up, please post in it if you are playing or if you cannot see your name (especially if you late reg)

The structure as changed again for this week and will stay the same for the rest of the league. It"s the same as last week with 3 extra levels.

40 / 80
60 / 120
250 / 500 / 50

This should give you a little more play early in the game, also helps if you late reg, but still have a 1am finishing time.

APAT are running a £25 + £2.50 satellite for the DTD £1 Million garneted leg of the UKIPT which will be run between the 11th & 16th of April. The satellite will be at 8pm tonight and will have the same structure as the league game for more information see here.

Hope you can play tonight and let"s get our first win, see you all on the final table

HI All

First of all I would like to apologize for the lack of leadership over the last 3 weeks, unfortunately my situation as not changed so I will not be around again this Sunday nor will I be able to play for the next few months. So with that in mind, it does not seem right for me to continue as captain. If anyone would like to take over as captain please post on the forum. I will be back hopefully for the second league later on in the year. If nobody wants to take over  then a would be happy to continue in the second league.

The 8th game of the league is this Sunday the 29th at 7.00 with a 1 hour late registration. $10+$1 on PokeStars, you can find it under Tournaments/Private/APAT password apatmember

Unfortunately I don't have any information for the last 2 weeks so I'm unable to update the player of the season (it was only for fun so not a big lose)

Team league
Scotland  26pts
Wales  22
West Mid  13
South East  12
North West  6
North East  5
Yorkshire & Humberside  5
East Midlands  4
London  4
South West  4
East Of England  2
Europe  1
Ireland  1

Individual League
Stephen Morris Wales  62pts
Lee Mardon South East  42
Tom Clark Scotland  40

Andy Cowl  22 (16th)
Paul Wilson  21  (20th)
Matthew Pitt  17 (32nd)
Barry Simpson 16  (40th)
Stephen Brooke 16 (40th)
Dean Person  5  (101st)
Michael Homes 3  (120th)
Wayne Parker  1  (130th)
Marcin Rejmak  1  (130th)
James Beel  1  (130h)

With 7 games gone, I don't think it's possible for us to compete against Scotland and Wales but 3rd place is still achievable. Individually anything is possible with 8 games left it only takes 2 FT and you will challenging for the prizes.

Thank you for all the support and good luck for the rest of the league and I will see you in League 2.

Wayne

No points for us again this week, going to be difficult to get 3rd place but it's still achievable. With 5 games left we have 5 pts with West Midlands on 16 pts. The numbers in the league have fallen to around 220 players (mostly Scotland and Wales) so if we can get a good turn out over the next 5 weeks, this would improve our chances. If you have not played yet can I ask you why? You have shown an interest in playing for Yorkshire & Humber, it's now time to stand up and be countered. YOUR COUNTY NEEDS YOU.

They as not been any interest in taking over the captaincy so I will do my best to keep you up-to-date but I am going to find it difficult to be around on Sunday nights but If you are ok with that than I shall carry on.

I have updated the "PLAYER OF THE YEAR" but I don't have week 6&7 results, if anybody can get them for me, I would be grateful (16th & 23rd of April) if not then I will have to call these 2 games nil and void (sorry if you did well in these games) but it is just for fun.

Week 12 of the APAT league is this Sunday. Only 8 played last week so it seems that we have thrown in the towel. We are in 8th place on 5pts, Scotland and Wales are a long way in front with West Midlands in 3d with 18pts. Our top individuals are Andy Cowl, Paul Wilson and Matthew Pitt all on 22pts, the top 3 being on 62, 56 and 53pts. With 4 games left to play and 25pts for first place it"s still possible for someone to get in the top 3. The Player Of The Year is now updated so there"s always pride to play for.

Cardiff is this weekend, good luck to all that are playing, I will be at Gala in Leeds on Saturday.

Don"t forget that the highest scoring English player after the final round of this league automatically secures a place in the England team for ECOAP at DTD in August. Same goes for the other home countries.  So - don"t be throwing in any towels - there"s still loads to play for.

This Sunday will be ours

Calling all Yorkshire & Humberside players to turn out in force this Sunday to show the rest of the league that we may not be in the running this time but we will be a force to be feared in the next league. Plus most of you will be playing on Sunday in the GENTING FREEROLL, don't forget if you have not download Genting yet use the code APAT6
Title: Re: Captain's Thread

So who's playing tonight?

In week 1 we had 30, last week we had 8. I know we cannot win the league but it would be great if we could win 1 week. I want to make that week tonight so if you are available can you please play and lets show the rest of the league that we will be in the running in the next league. Let's try and get 20 runners. There is a freeroll on Genting at the same time so I'm hoping for a good turnout.

Title: Re: Captain's Thread

This Sunday we had 10 runners which was disappointing, I know some of you could not make it or was late in registering but I know some of you did not play but did play in the freebie which was kind of a kick in the teeth to me.

The 10 that did play thank you for your efforts

For the first time we had 5 point scorers but at one point we had 6 players in the top 30 with 50 left. But as in other weeks when it matters we run bad. I watched 3 of you get it in when ahead only to come out behind.

Its going down to the last game for the title with Scotland leading on 52pts and Wales on 50pts.  North East are uncatchable in 3rd place with 26pts. We are currently in 7th with 9 pts.

Congratulations to Paul Wilson (aka willow333hul) who has won the first part of "Player of the Season"

The last game is this Sunday

Yes, looks like an interesting concept. Will start a thread when details are confirmed but you can start by getting a 4 man team together of your own as long as they qualify to play for Yorkshire and Humberside or we will put all names together and come up with a way of picking the teams. (top 4 in the "player of the season" then the next 4, every other player or just random) lets" see who wants to play first.

Still no news on the start of the National Online Cup but you can get your team together or put your name down if you want to join a team. So far we have 7 names but I"m sure they will be more when the date and structure is announced.

Hi Wayne, just wanted to say thanks for organising and captaining us for the last league.  Sorry I couldn"t play more games but the 7.00 start is a problem for me on Sundays as often not home til after 8.00 which obviously missed the late reg period but was also too long to sit out from the start.  If the new league is the same start time I will count myself out of it as I couldn"t be sure how many I would make, which is obviously unfair on a small team, but I will be back for part II of the main league whenever that starts.  ;D

Hi Helen

Thanks for that, the formula and structure as not been set yet so don"t count yourself out just yet. The league games ran for about 4 hours and finished around 11pm towards the end of the league so they could be an argument for starting at 8.00 or 7.30. Will keep you informed as I get the information.

Details of this are now out and things have slightly changed from previously. You can find all the details here but the cliff notes are.

1.   4 persons in a team (not required to be from the same region)
2.   Will be played on a Wednesday and Sunday
3.   Starts on the 8th August
4.   Cost 10euoes +1
5.   To be played on the APAT/poker.co.uk site
6.   7.00 pm start with 1 hour late reg.
7.   Prize is a APAT passport for the WCOAP in March
8.   First stage will be a group league of 4 games, top 2 teams go through to a knockout stage
9.   Top 3 teams will be awarded medals.

With this in mind I need you to confirm that you still want to be in a team made up from Y&H players or if you are going to use the player market

They will be a draw on the 5th of August so with this in mind I will wait till the 31st July for people to choose if you want to be in a team from our club. After that you will have to go through the player market

So they is no confusion I will start a new thread for you to put your APAT/poker.co.uk ID

Any questions, please ask

Wayne

Hi

Just pointing out some changes to the league that you may have not spotted.

Firstly its only a 10 week league (instead of 15)

First game on the 30th September

Only the top 18 players will score points (used to be top 27)

Only the top 3 players will score points for the team (used to be top 4)

As well as the top 3 team prizes, they will also be invited to play in the UK APAT Team Championships in Luton on the weekend 26th/27th January

They are 7 individual prizes (instead of 3)

So far we only have 7 registered but it's early days, so I'm expecting most of you will join over the next couple of weeks. To join the league you have to get a APAT online ID then fill the registration form out which takes about 15 seconds.

Don't forget that if you played in the first league you still have to fill in the registration form. Plus they are some names down on the APAT Online thread that have not filled the form in.

Players already registered

APAT Online   Name   Forum

AcesSteve   Stephen Brooke   sjb
baz1471   Barry Simpson   jockey
Bot_Buster   Markus Webster   web1
DodgerAPAT   Stephen Caine   Dodger
Mr-Nosey-P   Wayne Parker   nosey-p
Walwyn1   Any Cowl   walwyn
ZackF38   Zack Fitton   zackf38

Scotland and Wales will have the biggest members and will be probably be at the top of the league. However with the new scoring system it should make it more of a level playing field so the small teams have a chance. It's not a fore gone conclusion that they will be first and second, but having more players is a advantage so we need to get some new players in to our team so please ask around. If you have home games or if you play with regular players at the casino, friends and family, facebook friends, just spread the word that Yorkshire will be champions and we are the team to join.

In the first league they was a section in the T&C's about 30% of any prize winnings will be awarded to the rest of the team. Leigh did not put that in for this league but is looking in to it, I will let you know when I know.

We need to put in place a selection policy for the Team Championships (when we win). My thoughts are me as captain  ;) then the top 5 players with 2 wildcard picks. As anybody else got a suggestion?

If you have any questions, just ask

The new league starts this Sunday and so far we only have 13 registered. I know some of you are in the process of registering but we still need more. If you are going to play or you might play in the future then can you please register now. Don"t levee it till Sunday in case you have any problems. Remember that you have to download the APAT (poker.co.uk) software get a APAT online name then fill in the registration form.

Let me remind you of what we are playing for
1st Place 3 Genting GPS seats
2nd Place 3 WCOAP Passport Package
3rd Place 3 WCOAP Main Event Seat

Plus the top 3teams will be invited to enter the APAT UK Team Championship

Also 7 Individual prizes, including 1st Place a GPS seat, 2nd WCOAP Passport

And on top of that if you play in 8 of the games you will be entered into a freeroll for another GPS seat.

Tactics
Like in the first league, they is no team tactics as such. You pay your money you play as you see fit however this is advertised as a team game and as such I would like you to play for the team. What I mean by this is simply don"t go to battle against a team member, sure big hands will clash and we will take each other out at some point, just don"t run bluffs against each other. This becomes critical around the points bubble so get to know your team mates. I will start a thread each week to keep you up-to-date with who"s playing and how things are getting on in the game.

That's 1 game down, 9 to go

A fantastic start with Sian and David finishing 2nd and 3rd giving Yorkshire 2nd place and 4pts. Hats off to West Mid who had 4 on the final table (only 3 scoring)

West Midlands 43pts
Yorkshire 42pts
E O E 34pts
North East 21pts
Ireland 18pts

We had 19 players registered of which 15 of us played which is a brilliant turn out. (1 not registered)

I noticed a Yorkshire player who as not registered on the APAT form, if you played in the first league you still need to fill in the registration form or any points you win will be nil and void.

We still need more players, the other teams have grown over the last week so we need to keep up with them. If you are planning on playing please register now if you are not going to play, still register you may change your mind.

Don't forget that if you play 8 of the games you will be entered into a freeroll for a GPS seat.

Does anybody know who Hero007 is? (Kevin Stebbing)

Next game this Sunday 7.00

Some of you are playing in other games tonight. Make sure you have your priorities right and make the league game the main game. I mean who wants to win 50k when you can win 5 points for Yorkshire.

I'm trying to get my head around what happen last night before I posted

Well done all, only 1pt but 1pt is better than 0pt. We had 5 in the top 20, did not see the exit hands but this goes to show how tight this league is. Consistence is the key, be in the points every week then we won't be for away.

Hi Wayne

I really think we (as a team) need to clarify whether we are individuals going for the win or a team who try to get as many through to the points as possible.

Yorkie74 was berated and abused by a team-mate for calling a raise with KQ (how dare she play King rag) and ultimately cracking his AA in level 2 for only 1k of the 5k chipstack

Later she shoved AQ for 10bb only to be called by the AK of a teammate who claimed "I couldn"t fold"

Obviously she is mightily confused after spending most of the night avoiding confrontation with a team-mate to be stacked by one!!

Personally I would have folded the AK in that spot as I thought that was what we did in the team games, now not so sure?

As a cricketer who plays in a team all summer we win as a team and lose as a team, I believe this should be happening in the national league, if you find yourself in a hand against a team mate you should just check out.

There"s no point taking each other out as this does not benefit the team, if people feel they need to win as an individual then maybe they should not bother playing for the team and enter another event.

I feel we need to stick together on this as we seem to have some very good players at Team Yorkshire.

As for abuse, not just to team mates but to anyone playing they should be removed. It"s a game of chance at the end of the day and bad beats happen. I mean its not like its £ 100 to enter or anything we are talking roughly £6!!!!

In a perfect world Adrian you are right but poker is such an individual game plus when you add money into the equation then it"s impossible to play the perfect team game.

This is not 11 vs 11 it"s 1 vs 150, unless we are all in the same room and able to see each other"s cards.

We have to look at this as a good thing it shows that we are getting a good turnout and that we have had so many players going deep. This means that we are going to come up against team mates more often.

The hand that Dave mentioned  (AQ v AK) hands like this are going to clash, it"s up to each individual how they play it. Sian short stack pushers (correct) I think it was Baz (not sure) who was medium to short chips (cannot remember total) calls after sometime. In any other game it would be a snap call but he thought about it and decided that even against a team member, that this was the right play for him.  If he had more chips then he may have folded. I have to be honest and say that I would have probably called in the same situation

What pleases me is that we are talking about this, it shows that we care for the team to win

Like I said to Dave I will give a better response later (probably in my next email).

Fair point, I too would have called. I"m not sure how the hand turned out but I would have tried to check it out. The only time I wouldn"t is if the game was at a later stage and someone needed to push on looking for points.

In any other team game you are only ever up against players from another team, so no other team game analogy can be used.

Big hands are going to clash. I want to score as many points as I can, and I want the team to get as many points as it can, but I can"t think of many situations in which I would fold Aces just because a team mate raised before me.

The only way a genuinely unselfish poker team event can be played out is if no-one pays to play and there is no prize money per MTT (mind you, I probably still wouldn"t fold Aces on principle !), or it is arranged as a series of isolated STTs with one team representative per table.

The live APAT team event avoids clashes for the most part (early on anway) because it is 20 teams of only 8 players each.  The online version is closer to the opposite scenario.

I didnt have a problem with AK also shoving after I had shoved AQ team mate or not.

The only thing I can say is it was extremely confusing after I had taken such abuse earlier on in the game for playing a hand against a team "mate".  I wasnt even aware at the time he was on the team.  Maybe i should have familiarised myself with other team members but I had been sat out after making a real bad call and being knocked out in the 50k euros game and hadnt paid much attention.  Needless to say on reflection i would play that hand the same way.  He was annoyed I hit 2 more Kings on flop...

What I really didnt expect was the foul mouthed abuse I received from said player who said he was no "mate" of mine which actually suits me just fine to be honest.  Maybe I didnt need to  "lol" when he was knocked out but he had done the same when Dave got knocked out.  He of course had given me more abuse for this but as i said then dont give it if you cant take it

Last season I twice folded JJ where I would normally have shoved with them...but a ""teammate"" had raised and I avoided the clashes.
One occasion the pot was reraised and the teammate folded...I held the winner.
Second time there was a family pot and again I would have won if staying in.
So, following the advise to be careful around the bubble, I decided to ignore the fact I was up against a teammate if, under normal circumstances, I would usually not fold.
When a player raises all-in and I hold AK, I see this as an auto-call when I"ve been playing for a while and getting nowhere.
We were nowhere near the bubble so I made the call.
Right or Wrong (and we could debate this all night long and still not get a consensus) I would be doing this again given the same circumstances.
Just for the record...

Stephen, I must have been thinking of another hand that Yorkshire player"s tuck each other out. The one that you have posted it"s defiantly a call

I think in all, Yorkshire players tuck 4/5 team mates out on Sunday, this is due to that we are getting so many players going deep, this is a good thing. If we get 5 players every week in the op 20 then they will be occasions when we will be up against team mates. If big hands clash so be it, all I would say is not to run bluffs against team mates and be aware of their stack size. For the lucky top 3 players to win anything they will need the rest of the team"s help in getting team points.

It"s fun watching you guys knock each other out. Please don"t stop it  ;)

My own 2p is that the buy-in should be 0+1, then you would see the game played much differently. Unfortunately there are too many who say they play for the team but really just want the individual $$$ (300+ up top is significant for a 9 buyin). Those players would not play 0+1 and I wouldn"t miss them.

One way on making it a pure team game would be to not have individual payouts and pay out all the team that played equally, does not matter where you finish you all get the same money

This is getting off topic, if we need to continue this then we will start a new thread

E bye gum what a week

2 weeks down 8 to go, and we are top, well joint top
5pts Yorkshire
5pts South West
5pts West Midlands
4pts Scotland
3pts East of England
3pts South West
2pts North East
2pts Wales
1pt Ireland

In the individual league
3rd Sian 22pts
5th Dave  20pts
13th Andy  12pts
19th Stephen 9pts
27th Barry 6pts

There is no game this Sunday due to a small game happening in Glasgow. The next game will be the 21st Oct.

The subject of Team Tactics as arisen over the last week which I see has a good thing for 2 reasons, 1st, it shows me that we are thinking of the team and 2nd, more of us are coming up against teammates which tells me we are getting more of us going deep.

See Team or Individual

If you have not played yet this will be your last chance to play in 8 games so you can qualify for the freeroll.

Good luck if you are playing in Glasgow, Nottingham, West Brom or anywhere else , I will be in Sheffield so good luck to me

Wayne

Tonight is the 3rd game of the APAT league

Starts at 7.00 1 hour late reg

APAT on-line (poker.co.uk)

Password: apatmember

As always I will try to keep you up-to-date with who"s playing, chip counts and exits.
If you have not played yet then this is the last opportunity to qualify for the GPS freeroll (play 8 games)
Also tonight is the Scottish on-line championships also at 7.00 so if you are multi tabling make sure that the league comes first  ;)

We have made a good start to the league,  joint top after 2 games but the league is tight with 9 teams out of 12 scoring points, we need to keep the numbers up as some of the other teams have strengthen over the last couple of weeks.

If you can play, please do

Good luck

Thanks to the Godfrey"s we gained 3 points last Sunday with Duncan finishing in 3rd place and Helen in 12th. I finished in 20th place which I have been kicking myself about all week (I should have got in the points)

Things are going well, 3 weeks down and we are in 2nd place on 8 points with Scotland in 1st with 9 points and Wales in 3rd on 6 points.

Individually, Sian is in joint 5th place with 22 points and David and Duncan are in joint 8th place with 20 points. Tony Tripper is the leader with 26 points.

Once again we had a great turn out with 12.7% of the field. Scotland and Wales have also had good numbers (after the first week) and are showing why they came 1st and 2nd in the last league but we are just has good if not better than them. If we keep the numbers up and with the other teams numbers starting to fall then it"s going to be a 3 way battle, let"s make sure that it"s us that come out winning.

Don"t forget that if you play in 8 of the 10 games then you will be entered into a freeroll for a GPS seat valued at £430. I have started a thread with how many games we have all played, if I have made a mistake then point it out to me.

I have up dated the player of the season (after being reminded of it). With it only being 10 games long your best 8 finishing positions will count. Same as before, 15 points for first 12 points for 2nd, 10 8 6 5 4 3 2 1. This is only for fun, no prize on offer, just a bit of friendly rivalry.

Next game this Sunday

You read my blog, nice to know someone does. :D Need to update it the problem is that I lead a boring life. I should have called it "A blog of someone with nothing to say"

AJ is a hand that I hate but have to play, I look for reasons not to play it.

Nice result though

Unfortunate, last night was a game to far. We crashed and burned with just one point scorer but we hold on to second place.

Congratulations to Scotland on winning and retaining the league.

League roundup

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of Team Yorkshire, does not matter if you played 1 or all 10 games you all contributed plus to the ones that could not play for one reason and another, although you may have not played you still showed your support to Yorkshire.

As you all know by now we finished in 2nd place with Scotland being the winners.  Going into the final game we wear 1 point behind but we had won the previous 2 games and so the momentum was with us. Unfortunately we could not get over the finishing line.

In the first league, the most disappointing thing was the drop off in players ,we started off with 30 players by the end we had 8 players.  What pleased me in this league was the turn out in each game, we had from 12% to over 16% of the players, 15 in the first game and 16 in the last game. This was down to two things, the commitment of our players plus the good start we had.

By finishing in 2nd place, the 3 top scorers won a WCOAP Passport (I think it consists off a ME + 2 side events) plus anybody who scored points will have a % in the 3 players. So congratulations to Duncan (runadrum2), Stephen (DodgerAPAT) and to Barry (baz1471) Good luck in March/April.

Duncan also finished 4th in the individual league and in doing so he has won a ME seat to a National APAT game.

We have also been invited to play in the APAT Team Championships to be held in Luton on the 26th/27th of January. If you would like to be coincided to be in the team then please email me,  PM me or post on the forum. Closing date for applicants is this Friday, I will be picking the side over the weekend.

For those of you who played in 8 or more games, the GPS Freeroll is this Sunday (23rd) at 7.00, a password will be sent to you.

The player of the season part 2 goes to Duncan with Barry in 2nd place and Mark (sm3llp00p) in 3rd with me in 4th (sorry had to put that in). So the overall winner of season 6 goes to Barry for finishing in 2nd place in both leagues with Wayne (Mr-Nosey-P) in 2nd place with 2 4th place finishers and Paul (_willow23_) in 3rd with him winning the first league. No prizes for this just bragging rights.

It looks like there will be another On-Line Cup in the new year so keep checking the forum for details.

Carl Pilgrim has kindly donated one of his GPS seats to the APAT community, to qualify to play in this is that you make a small contribution to his charity.

So that"s it from me, hope you have enjoyed the league and you will be back in Season7. Keep spreading the word to your friends about APAT and the league and hopefully we can be a stronger, bigger, better team and we can make it 1 place better.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Hi All

Just a quick update on things APAT

As you probably know by now, the APAT Team Championships was last weekend. Unfortunately we did not do very well finishing in 20th place out of 25. Everyone that played enjoyed them self"s including some first time players.

I would imagine that the next team game will be next January but will find out when the season 7 is announced.

In the meantime, starting this Sunday APAT are running the National Cup again. With 4/6 players in a MTT game but only playing against 1 other team, all you have to do is score more points than your opponents. It"s not a regional game so you can put your own team in. See the forum for more details.

The next APAT live game will be the highlight of the season, the WCOAP held at DTD starting 28th of March (Easter weekend) with Stud, Omaha, Heads Up, Six Max, Horse and the NL ME World Championships. It will also include the World Armature Team Championships. Keep a look out on the forum for final details

I"m sure they will be satellites into all of the events (apart from the team game) don"t know if that will be through poker.co or through DTD site  but I"m sure they will be an announcement soon on the forum.

Good luck to Duncan, Stephen and Barry who all won a £220 passport the WCOAP for finishing in the top 3 Yorkshire players in the league.

If you like playing with APAT please tell your friends about it, I know it"s early but the more people that play for Yorkshire the bigger chance we have.

Hope to see some of you at DTD

Thanks again for all your efforts over the league and look forward to the new league in season 7

Wayne

Thank you for summary Wayne as I had not realised I had won a WCOAP "passport" rather than just a ME seat.

I got it completely wrong as I also thought my ME seat came via my 4th place finish individually, but now see my prize for that is an APAT National event seat.

See you in March hopefully.

Duncan

The prize for runners up is a WCOAP Passport (£220) £100+£10 ME + 2 x £50+£5 side events.  Don"t forget that if anyone of you cash for over £1000 then 30% goes to the rest of the team that scored points.

Duncan also won a £82.50 ME National Seat for his individual place which is 100% all his.

Hi Guys

A quick update on APAT, well it looks like the season 7 schedule will be announced tomorrow (Friday) at 9.00pm. If you don"t already know the first game is at Coventry on the 29th and 30th of this month. Satellites on 17th &18th with direct buy-in on the 19th via William Hill.

Hope you will all be joining "Yorkshire & Humberside" again this year and we can go one better than in the last league
and show Scotland that they is another big team in APAT. (presuming there is a league) So start spreading the news and get your friends to join

APAT have now bought/joined the LPPL, so if you like playing in your pub then this is a way of setting up a league plus in the future it will include home games, see website for more details.

The "Yorkshire Poker Club" is steadily growing and is about to start its second league if you would like to join please join our Facebook page or just drop me an email and I will give you more details. This Sunday we have a $5 friendly game and a HU $10 league in one night (depending on runners)
