Title: William Hill English Amateur Championship - On Sale
Post by: Des on March 01, 2012, 17:32:13 PM
William Hill have corrected the holding tank for the English Amateur Poker Championship and the event will go on sale tonight from 8pm as scheduled.

The 24 qualifiers have been issued with tokens to enter, worth £82.50.  They are guaranteed a seat, but should use their token to enter the holding tank as soon as possible.

The players who had registered previously when the tank was open in error have been refunded their £82.50 buy in.

I do not anticipate the event selling out this evening, but would encourage everyone planning to buy in to do so as close to 8pm as possible.

Many thanks and apologies to anyone who has been inconvenienced over the last couple of days.

Des.

The Holding Tank is there and visible now Barrie.  Remove your filters if you have any and you should be able to find it under "English Amateur Holding Tank".

There is no problem with registering from the same ip address for a WH account. But you will not be able to register for the tournament from the same ip address.

I am having trouble depositing money via my barclay connect card into my Will Hill account, so I cannot buy in for this. Even though I have used it before, and surprisingly there is money in the account:)

Could you reserve me a seat if by any chance they sell out tonight so I can ring Barclays in the morning and get it sorted?

I will keep trying, my WH screen name id is APATbot

Thx

Dave

Done all sorted

So how can Donna get a seat? She has spent the last hour registering an account. WH does not work on Macs therefore i registered another account via my pc.

She then deposited £82.50 only to find out this cannot be used to reg for Coventry because i am already in.

WTF this is a holding tank for a live event!

You now need to get a good friend or relative that will buy her in from her account on their ip address. I had to get my daughter to do mine.

Can you not do it from a work computer? Failing that I have a friend that could do it for her if you dont mind giving them the log in details. He is trustworthy and I will stand by that.

As there seems to be a number of seats still available, can"t Will Hill manually enter the people with the IP problems ?

After all, the tournament is not actually going to run.  I can understand why they have the IP check in place to try and reduce collusion etc,  but for this particular tourney it"s pointless.

I agree.  There"s nothing more frustrating than seeing genuine people that want to play an APAT event and can"t because of technical stuff.

I"m sure Des and the team feel the same about it.  Fingers crossed it can get sorted out.

I have spent 2 hours with online support trying to sort this out for Donna.

In the end the manager could only be sarcastic as he ran out of patience. This is not a good advert for our new sponsor.

I am now totally frustrated. I love APAT and have made the effort to book a hotel and am willing to travel when there are tournaments on my doorstep with a similar structure.

I am even beginning to wonder whether it"s worth the effort.  :(

One way to get round it could be using your laptop"s wifi to tether to a mobile phone broadcast - or go to the local hotel?

You would think so. Though i have just spent 2 hours with online support. The manager there ended up resorting to sarcasm which is a little worrying to say the least.

We love APAT and everything  it stands for. We travel and stay overnight when there is a tournament on our doorstep with a similar structure.

Nights like tonight don"t help at all and i don"t think our new partner understands that or gives a ****.  :(

Don"t start drinking with Ger, Phil, Jack, Dawn etc etc before and during event and all will be fine :D..

Try and bribe tournament director for seat allocation, so you don"t end up on Scouses or Matt mackinlays table or if you do just bring a good set of Bose ear phones.

Apart from that just have a great time, run good and most of all enjoy and embrace the best run poker tour available  ;D

Actually, if you do want to have "the full APAT experience", DO drink with Ger, Phil, Jack, Dawn :-*, Scouse, Matt, Curly, Dan, Pables, Rudders (Snr obv.), Quasar :-*, Suz :-*, Michelle and Claire (watch out here :o :o), Shaz :-*, Paul Mac, Darren, Asa, Don, Lee, Waz, Carl, JP, Dai, Paulie D and especially The Chief Scout and Irritating Man!!!

You might however want to take a few days off afterwards, Milk Thistle FTW ;)

I"m in!  First ever APAT live event.  Any tips from the veterans out there?

Sigh..... Such bad influence poor guy will be damaged for life.. First APAT event what if he meets Dan??  :D  Rich your a sicko!!

Cheers, was not a dig or anything, I know the venue is not free but APAT also has to find money to pay for these value added seats etc :)
