Stu Ward hits his one outer on 7th street to beat a made full house and nut flush.
-
3 hands in and Quad Aces for Carl Pilgrim! :D
Dealt A5 A, with another Ace on 5th street and a final one of 7th. mbn! :)
Picked up a 600ish post, though his opponent Kieran folded folded his straight on 7th.
-
Big hand involving Michelle Gascoine and Chris (Gommorah).
I catch it as 5th street is dealt:
Michelle: ? ? 4x 8x 8x
Player x: ? ? 9x Ax 3c
Chris: ? ? Ax 5h Tx
Michelle checks. Player x bets 200. Chris calls. Michelle calls.
6th street:
Michelle: ? ? 4 8 8 3
Player x: ? ? 9x Ax 3c 6c
Chris: ? ? Ax 5h Tx 8h
all checked round.
7th street is dealt.
Michelle goes to bet 400, but is told she can only bet 200 (:)). Player x folds. Chris calls.
Michelle flips 4x 8x ? for the Full house, Chris shows 2 cards (Ax Tx) for 2 pair.
Michelle scoops :)

What are the chances of a friend who hasn"t registered getting into the 6-max tomorrow? Will there be alternates?
-
What are the chances of a friend who hasn"t registered getting into the 6-max tomorrow? Will there be alternates?
Very high. We"ve extended the capacity by 48 to make a total 156. We only increased the capacity today, so most of those spaces are still available. We are running alternates for 3 levels.
The club opens at 2pm, with the game starting at 3pm.
-
Just caught Wayne Smith taking a large pot off Phil Tompkinson with 2 pair.
Wayne is now up to 40k and big chip leader on his table.
Wayne says: "I am going to win this. You can quote me on that".
Wayne is a 7 card stud specialist - it being the only form of poker he plays. With about 75% of the field having never played before, I think he"s in with a good shot.
The other monster stack is DTD-Regular Wes on the other table, 40k.
-
Glenn Laming in the Seven Card Stud.

Nice bokk from Des, no sooner does he post Karen"s photo but she busts out :(
The hand in question was:
[8] [J] 9 9 8 J [?]
vs serial bettor DTD Wes"s [7] [2] 7 7 3 A [?]
Pot was 27k.
-
The previous hand to the above also involved Wes (who appears to be playing every single pot).
Wes: [?] [3] 3 3 9 K [?]
Smasher: [2] [T] T T 5 4 [J]
Smasher ships a 27k pot his way.

2 more exits:

9. Phil Tompkinson

Amit out in 7th in a preflop xJJ vs xAT.
AT reveals A as the hidden card. xJJ reveals K.
Board runs out a series of bricks for both players, with the AAT hitting another T on 7th.
He only had 5k chips. Carl Pilgrim adds those to his stack.
-
Chen takes a 35k pot off Wes calling every street, then flipping (hidden) QQ to scoop. Wes mucks his down cards.
Next hand Carl is all in for 2.6k with xx 7. Wes has xx 2 and Chen xx 9.
Action goes:
check, check, check, check, check, check, check, check with the cards rolling out as follows:
Carl: 8 Q ? x
Wes: 7 A ? x
Chen: 3 2 ? x
All are flipped and Carl scoops with 2 pair, possibly QQ99 :P
-
Bubble has popped, and it"s Glenn Laming who is the bubble boy (again).
Glenn gets it all-in with a nicely hidden 2-pair of [J] [2] J 2, but alas ends up losing out to a better 2 pair.
Some patient laddering by Carl Pilgrim, who"s been nursing a stack as small as 2.6k at points, sees him make the cash. He is next out in 5th place for £119
4 players left....
-
Warren J finishes in 4th for £170.
We are now down to the medal positions.
Remaining players are:
APAT's Chen Tam, DTD"s Wayne Smith, and DTD"s Wes.
Stacks: Chen: 25k, Wayne: 100k, Wes: 100k.
-
-
It"s been a see-saw headsup battle so far. Stacks are about even, with Wayne having just won the last sizeable pot.
-
Chen takes a 35k pot off Wes calling every street, then flipping (hidden) QQ to scoop.
QQ77 ;)
-
Ante 1,500, Bring-in 1,500. Limit 6,000 - 12,000.
Stacks look to be about even again...

Just caught up on the updates from the Stud, having been focused on keeping the team event on track all day.
Good work from Mr Dale on his first APAT update, especially as he was sat next to me in the update area around 6pm googling "the rules of stud poker" ;D
And he was flying around the team event during the heads up aswell (mainly due to the fact we got in this trainee, Des something or other, who spent most of his time chatting to people ;) ), but that was just a warm up.
From 3pm today, we have what will be our biggest side event field to date.
26 Tables, 156 Runners, should be a walk in the park for Matt, assuming he makes it back from wakeboarding with John Murray.
-
Nice work, guys. Will there be any photos of the medal winners? Cheers
-
Will there be a lunch break in the six max as we have to check into the hotel at some point
-
No lunch break. Suggest you check in at the hotel early if you can.

A tale of an early exit.
Anonymous raises to 300 pre-flop. Stuart Oliver calls with 55. 2 others call creating a flop of 1200.
Local guy (first to act) leads out for 1050.
Stuart says "why soooooo much?!?" in a highly exaggerated and theatrical manner, and makes the call.
Turn: 7.
Anonymous shoves all in for his remaining 4k chips (he"d already lost almost half his stack in an earlier hand). Stuart snap calls.
Anonymous flips JJ and Stuart"s hand holds. Anonymous hits the rail.
-
Some early movers and shakers:
Stuart Ward up to 17k with a Full House vs trips. 99 on the flop to give his opponent the trips, 6 on the turn to give Stuart a full house (for he had, as I correctly deduced 66). Chips went flying in all over the place, with the Full house remaining good.
Michelle "Hold or Fold" Gascoine up to 13k with 2 pairs versus "a strong draw" (aka Queen high).
Des Duffy lookalike Ben Burnhill up to 18k with two pair KKQQ vs pair and a flush draw, and river bluff from Fran Creed on the river.
Suzanne up to 13k chips by bullying the player to her immediate left (Steve Roderick).
If anyone wants a player-specific update or photo, give me a shout and I"ll seek them out :)

Barrie Cullen update please Matt
Barrie has over double the starting stack with 22k. Though, whilst counting his chips to give me the figure, he accidentally folded his bigblind pre-flop in an unraised pot. doh! :D
-
Ben Burnhill now up to 30k.
Preflop 400 raise before him, he calls with 55. Another player calls behind.
Flop: T 5 2.
Ben checks, player to his left goes all in for 3.5k. Other pre-flop caller (Mrs. X) goes all in for 7k. Ben calls.
First guy flips KT, Mrs. X flips QQ.
The board runs out bricks, and Ben scoops a monster pot, making him the early chipleader.

Mark Rowbottom busts out shoving AKo on a flop of 5s 9s 10h
Unfortunately for him, Stuart Oliver has Js 10s and makes the call.
The board bricks twice, but a pair of 10"s is enough for Sir Percival to take the 17k pot.
That puts him up to 37k, and possibly 2nd highest chips in the room. Just behind Jamie Barrett who has reached the heady heights of 40k :)

Also spotted:
Yesterday"s Seven Card stud runner up Weswell Ellis on 16k. Tom Brady keeping the Live Pub Poker League"s dream real on 25k (a figure he is somewhat surprised of himself).

Congrats to Wayne, but bit untrue to say bolded bit as he plays nearly all the NLHE tournys @ DtD and NL cash too :)
