I am playing Day 1b of this event. It features a 30k stack and a 60minute clock and is in what Phil_TC refers to as my "Happy Place"

I"m selling 30% at 1.16 so 5% = £32.50. Prefer to cap at 5% per stake to share it around a bit at the moment.

Playing with or without stakers - I tried the satellite route this week and failed on the £500, but won a £150 seat which I am using toward my share.

I"ve blatantly copied much of what follows from the aborted UKIPT Newcastle thread...

For those that don"t know me, I"m a 58 yr old recreational poker player with a love for the game that means I"ll play any structure to get a game.
I write some rambling posts about poker and stuff here - http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=10564.225

Over the past few years I"ve won my share of comps in Casinos both in Northampton and in Stockton. I"ve had two fifth place finishes in DTD Super50 games having played maybe 6 of them.
Made Day 2 of a £300 Deepstack and the October 2010 GP without troubling the cashier and got my first Hendon Mob flag when I made the live part of the August 2011 Grand Prix V.

In 2012 I"ve played five deep structured multi day tournaments and run pretty deep in four of them.
I"ve definitely improved my game over the past year or so. Studying histories and reading Hand Analysis posts on here and on Blonde have helped. I"ve not been afraid to post my own hands and have taken criticism and suggested improvements on board. (see UKIPT exit hand as mentioned in my blog...)

February DTD £500 failed to make Day 2, but did manage 5th in the Super50 for £660 in a field with a lot of Deepstack players

March UKIPT £1MM gtd, made Day 2 and exited close to the money when my flopped two pair were counterfeited by running threes on turn and river. Had that hand held (or had I folded pre as I should have done) I was highly likely to make the cash that day. I learnt a lesson from that hand though so it wasn"t all bad.

April DTD GP; August DTD GP; September DTD £500k guaranteed - #varianceismyfriend

Playing Day 1b, tomorrow so bank transfer needed will supply by PM. (or cash tonight from any of the Invading Hordes / locals who are foolish enough to invest)

Flame away.

Just out of interest does the the "home game player" count as part David"s percentage when it comes to working out apat"s cut when he wins it all?

Yes. I"ll ship 1% of 30%

If "off-forum" stakers are an issue can someone say? It was one of those moments today. I mentioned i was selling not anticipating any intrest from him but he"s a buddy and it would have been churlish to refuse.

Don"t understand that. Surely you would only pay APAT 1% on whatever was sold through the APAT forum?

But he hasn"t sold to that person through the forum he"s sold it privately?

I offered 30% on here though. Had I already sold the 5% off-forum i"d have offered 25% here.

Or is that muddled thinking? (it is early, and we were invaded yesterday...)

A very brief report

Folded a lot

Played some hands well and got beaten; some hands badly and got lucky; some hands well and got rewarded.

Stack was up and down all day

Ended on 66800 vs avge of c96000
Blinds will be 600/1200/200

The roller coaster restarts at 2pm tomorrow with 66 remaining and I"d guess 27 paid. Total entries of 180 means we"re getting a little extra value for our buyin, all that is needed is a short rush of cards and some focus.

Sleep beckons.

We bust  >:(

Had a really horrible level 10 where my hands just wouldn"t hold up, or the situation prevented me getting value

Lost a couple of chunks and fell back to a shoving stack

Got one through but next orbit when I shoved the hijack with 4 6 the button woke up with AA
3 5 x flop but no 2 and no 7 to save me

Currently playing the £150
