Hey my Scottish brothers and sisters, We have officially been invited to the APAT UK Poker Team Championships in Luton on 26th-27th January 2013. I would firstly like to thank APAT for the opportunity to take a team to this event. As you all know APAT tournaments are always great to play in and can only be bested by having the opportunity to represent your team in them. I"m honoured to captain a team in this event and my only hardship is having to pick an eight man team from the many great players I have at my disposal.
Full details have yet to be released by APAT but heres the main things you need to know.
Dates - 26th-27th Jamuary 2013
Venue - G-Casino Luton
Buy in - £50 + £5
The team must have matching team Scotland T-shirts (£15 each to purchase from APAT)
Accomodation - I"ll look into and get back to you with prices or if you see good deals then feel free to let us know here.
Travel - Not sure about flight prices but again will have a look and let you know. If 2 people want to take cars down then I would imagine roughly £40-£50 per person at most.
So that said if you would like the represent Team Scotland at this event then please apply either in this thread or PM me with a bit of poker background and why you feel you would be a valuable addition to our team in Luton.
So for now i"ll leave it there and look forward to hard task of picking a great team from the many applications!

Hey all, I know the general concensus seems to be it"s just after christmas n it"s a bit of a mission as far as travelling n stuff is concerned. But if you can make it and want to fly the flag for another (hopeful) Scotland win then apply as soon as you can.
I will be announcing the team on christmas day so if you want another surprise in the xmas stocking then get your names in. ;)
-
Good luck to Team Scotland and get your names in guys & gals, you country needs you!

Congratulations on your victory in the Online League and good luck in the tournament...

How will the team be selected Paul ? will it be from the players that participated in the Online League ?
-
I would hope the the captain selects players who have played in the online league and supported the team this season.
-
Sef, could you please enter my name for consideration
Online Alias ; The-Healer
-
Paul Gupta can walk on water........just saying! ;)
-
Paul, are you selecting the team from players who have played in the Home International Championships, or is the team being selected from the players who won the Online League ?
I am unsure if "Team Scotland" and the one which won the above Online League are one and the same, or the invite you refer to is for a team from Scotland, or from the Online League Winners. Can you please clarify ? ???
Cheers
Ian

Thanks to all who applied. Did you get my pms ok Ian?
Unfortunately due to the timing of this and with UKIPT Edinburgh the week before being the general reasons for people not able to apply we don"t have a team at the moment.
I will leave application open til Sunday so if anyone else wants to apply, do so now or I will have to decline the invitation.
Cheers

Sef,
Tell me to mind my own.....but you might be better to also start a new thread, as I wouldn"t think (although I did! to be fair) many would see this if they are not part of the Scotland Team or online set up.
Just a thought
