Title: Tentative Enquiry.
Post by: Erimus on December 20, 2012, 01:26:59 AM
Hi Brian Harland here just wanted to put this out to gauge if any one would interested in the following proposal.

Erimus14 Stars
http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/pokerstars/erimus14/poker/ratings/FAFA1172F4C54931A5BA0C09F4D33A04.html?t=3

Credo7 Full Tilt
http://www.officialpokerrankings.com/fulltiltpoker/Credo7/poker/ratings/000E6B92474144AD8C7DE0EA96CF158A.html?t=3

Starting figures have to be decided, but what I am proposing is as follows

I currently have zero dollars on Full Tilt and it is my intention to deposit a sum of either $300 or $500 around about Jan 10th, the starting amount depends upon this months profit on Stars, Live play and how much I spend over Christmas.

This stake would be over the full year from 10/01/13 to 01/12/13, obviously people could remove their stake at any time, whatever percentage of the bankroll, but would prefer it to run long term, but it would not be a problem to withdraw if someone wanted to.

I am not a grinder and it"s not my intention to play hundreds of game but I will play a minimum of 30 per month, these will include sit n goes and mtts, the stake is only for Full Tilt poker, I normally play on Stars on my own money and I will continue to do so, if I have a bink on Stars I may transfer a bit over from there to full tilt to either boost the roll or replenish it.

I will keep eveyone updated each month on my blog with results of games played, i will check my Sharkscope records and reset the data from the proposed start date, that is usually fairly accurate way to follow progress, I will also put screenshots up of current balances etc, and will be as open as possible regarding this. The reason for this proposal is just to add a bit of focus to my game rather than just grinding away.

I live close to a few Apat stalwarts , Phil Tc, Dave Amos and Stuart Ward and if they see me starting to live the high life drinking champagne down the Bongo, I am sure they would be on my case and let everyone know.

I can"t guarantee a return but you never know, it could be a nice little boost for next Christmas.

I am aware of Apats cut, this can be done on a monthly basis or if they want to let it run for the year either way is fine I will contact the appropriate people if i decide to go ahead with this.

If you are interested in the above just post below, any suggestions or questions again ask below, as I said at the beginning this is a tentative enquiry to gauge interest and is not a definite starter.

Brian.. just need to let people know how much you"re selling and if there"s any markup.. and that bongo is the best place in the world.. does it sell champagne? x Either or.. as I"ve said previously I"ll take 20% x

What sort of stakes would u be playing?
Title: Re: Tentative Enquiry.
Post by: Fatcatstu on December 20, 2012, 03:01:55 AM
20%!!!
Title: Re: Tentative Enquiry.
Post by: Erimus on December 20, 2012, 04:06:12 AM
There would be no mark up, my thoughts were I deposited $500, hope to get enough people to make the starting bankroll to $1k, this is what we start with in    January, hopefully by the 1st of December I would have made a profit and all  cash would be refunded dependant upon percentage taken.

So 10% = $50 and 20% = $100, would like to spread it around so max would be 20% per person.

By the way i have never asked for staking before so if I am doing this all wrong any advice would be appreciated.

The first $500 spent would be mine, if I go on a massive downswing and lose the first $ 500, I will stop playing and offer all stakees the option to back out, hopefully this won"t happen but it might.

The stakes I would be playing at first would be low stake mtts and sngs from $5 to $24, obviously the big money is in the mtts so if I cash in a few sngs these would pay for the mtts hopefully get a bink in one of those.

The Bongo seems a nice establishment  ;D

20% please
Title: Re: Tentative Enquiry.
Post by: pokerpops on December 20, 2012, 09:42:24 AM
10% please - $50

For clarity, if you put in $500 and we put in $500 then the total roll is $1000 and that $50 = 5% of the total roll?

The first $500 isn"t yours and if you lose it you haven"t lost all your money, you"ve lost half the total and should definitely continue to play. The purpose of getting the extra roll is to make it more likely that you can keep going to the point where you make the big bink.

Title: Re: Tentative Enquiry.
Post by: Erimus on December 20, 2012, 10:51:24 AM
Yes, the stake would be a percentage of the starting roll whatever that is, agree about the first $ $500, I put this in as a bit of security for people who don"t know me, obviously any one interested and is aware of poker knows this a small punt over a relatively short period of time, and will be aware of the risk ie no return.

Hopefully in one year can at least double everyone"s investment and it pays for a Turkey next year.

Title: Re: Tentative Enquiry.
Post by: Erimus on December 20, 2012, 19:59:18 PM
Thanks for all the replies so far, I do have a couple more people interested in this, non Apat but they are aware of the small cut Apat would take if we profit.

I didn"t want to put a cap on the starting roll so if anyone still wants to join in its not a problem.

Just because I may have a bigger starting roll doesn"t mean I will play higher I will only play games I am comfortable at, the bigger the starting roll gives us more of a cushion. I can be a bankroll nit and will only play a certain percentage per day/ month.

As said this won"t be starting till mid January, and before I ask for any cash I will lay out a more structured plan so people can make a more informed decision.

If we do start with a higher roll I will ask Phil or Dave to have some sort of access to my account via teamviewer so everything is above board, any member of the team can ask to see the details at any time, I want this to be as open as possible to protect myself and let everyone know this is above board, hopefully after a year we can all get a bit back.

Brian,

It would be good if you could formalise how you want to do this, because offering more %"s does change the position for the initial guys who"ve responded, especially as you have said that an increase in starting bankroll wouldn"t mean your volume would necessarily change.

It may change the staking proposition for some people.

Cheers,

Leigh

Happy to go with original thoughts i will deposit $500 on Full Tilt the rest of the roll will be

PhilTC $100 (20%)
Ger    $100 (20%)
Leigh  $100 (20%)
Dave A  $50 (10%)
Rodders $50 (10%)
Stuart    $50 (10%)
Adilong1 $50 (10%).

We will start with a $1k roll on Full Tilt.

I intend to start the week starting 7th or 14th January,so no urgency regarding Cash, Name on Full Tilt is Credo7, and on Stars is Erimus14, transfer to either is fine or if you would prefer pm for bank details, we can do it that way, again no rush so after the holidays is fine, if people change their mind, again not a problem will re evaluate the week before we begin.

Regarding game selection it will be a mixture of sngs and mtts between $5 to $24, any sng wins will just pay for buy ins to mtts.

It could be feasable to try and make a bit from sngs alone but tbh this is something i dont really want to do.

I will keep the blog updated with progress good or bad on a monthly basis, and will hopefully let it run until 01/12/2013. If we are in Profit then will get cash back to people before Christmas next year.

As you all know i do play on other sites and live, if this thing does go belly up, and i have ran really well elsewhere, throughout the year i will make you all an offer in December as a gesture of goodwill, either cashback or a donation to charity, if i run bad everywhere then thats the nature of the beast, gl us.

All funds received ty, and ready to go will start this thing this weekend, we have a $1K roll on full tilt, i will update at the end of the month unless anything major happens, gl us.

If you want to check progress, Credo7 on Tilt, sharkscope or opr usually fairly accurate.

Quick update, nothing to report other than we will be starting February with Bankroll at $850, think i only cashed 2 in 20 mttts, pretty poor really and a few cashes in sngs, hopefully February will see a change in fortune.

To keep things in balance i have lost the same on Stars, temprement being tested on a daily basis, hope fully get on the right side of variance in February.

Finally got round to resetting stats on Sharkscope tonight from 07/01/2013 which was our start date, if you want to see whats happening on a daily basis have a look on there, it is usually fairly accurate.

Currently showing us up $1205, so current roll is $2205.

Had a good run at the sngs today and we were up to $1300 at one stage but a few mtts later and a $50 sat which was good value 2 seats guaranteed for the $350k which I finished 4th in :( saw us drop down but still going in a positive direction.

As I said in my original proposal sngs were always going to be used as getting us into mtts cheaply, don"t fancy the sng grind unless I am in the mood.

Regarding the sngs the ones I have played so far seem a tad easier than Stars in the fact there is usually one or two fish at the table and if you manage to get them early doors it usually ends up with a posive result, I find on Stars most players are solid and it depends who gets lucky 6 handed at 200/400.

Got a win in a $35 one for $145 which is a lot better sometimes than sitting and min cashing after 6 hours grinding an mtt when you lose the inevitable flip.

End of month report coming up for stakers, its a day early but probably not playing tomorrow as i have stuff on during day and i managed to bink a seat into Dtds £300 game so will be one tabling that on Thursday evening.

We are in profit after a losing start in January and according to Sharkscope we have the following stats

Games Played    103
Average Profit  $11.74
Average Stake   $15.30
Average roi     40.8%
Profit          $1210

I have a little shark next to my name now, never had one of those since my sky poker days,

So current roll is $2210, got to be happy with that after a slow start, we did peak at $2339 but have lost a bit since then

I am finding the games on tilt a lot less aggro than on Stars where i am runing like a 3 legged donkey and losing a chunk.

Sngs are quite good as well but games dont fill up as quick as stars so just picking and choosing those as they appear, playing whats available from $10 to $35 depending upon mood, getting to knpw the regs and just use the colours to establish good players from the poor.

Currently near cash bubble in a $6k gteed, will report back if anything happens.

lost a flip on the bubble ak v 99 flopped flush draw and straight draw, didnt hit  :(

Still plodding along on Tilt, made a Final table tonight in a 2k gteed, unable to convert it to a win though, finished 7th for $111 I reshoved over a shorties all in with 77 he had 10 bigs (he had Kk)but was greeted by a bigger bet from big blind, AQ v KK v 77, worst hand pre won. We got an extra $30 or so due to us having more than the shortie, still a bit down this month but nothing significant.

Title: Re: Tentative Enquiry.
Post by: Erimus on March 28, 2013, 17:53:13 PM
Got to a final table today, again unable to convert finished 6th for $280, wasnt nitting it up lost a chunk with AJ V J8, villain flopped 88 and that was that then lost kj v k5 blind on blind for a 14 big blind shove, been the story of my month so far, at least i made the final table after a load of near misses, still 3 days to go till end of month.

Been a pretty poor month so far results wise with sngs and mtts, the above helps us climb up the little hole we had dug for the month, cash going ok so we aint losing will post the results on Sunday.

Thanks to Dave and Ger for the rail.

Doing this today as I have updated blog and may as well kill 2 birds with one stone, we started the month with $2210 and up until the last week we were spiralling down but with a 6th place and some sng cashes, and a small profit on cash and the extra $ 100 i chucked in for a go at cash, and a few edge rewards we will be starting April with $2100 a loss of $110.

Games Played.  194
Average Profit.  $4
Average Stake.  $17.08
Roi.                  10.06%
Profit                 $775.( Sngs and mtts).

6/33 cashes in mtts 18%, finished late in 15%

Again been very close to some good scores, cash bubbled a few when going for double ups when min cashing would of been guarenteed but hate min cashing especially when the profit is about $10, got really unlucky on the final table on Thursday, railers can verify this, won"t bore you with details, it is what it is, see above for details.

If I grinded sngs and made $4 a game would be ok but they do my head in so still use them as a cheap entry to mtts.

Hoping April is better for us, at least we are in profit, glad I don"t do this for a living would do my head in, Gl to us in April.

Starting Roll for April = $2100

A nice start to April, managed a 2cd in a 2k guarentee for $462, turned back to nitty old me on the bubble mainly because of being card dead and had no fold equity against any one, waited for my pair 33 which held v AK, and then we had to thank a maniac of a Brazilian who proceeded to knock every one out at the final table, luckily for us my tens held against his KJ, that was the only race or 70/30 he lost, the final table only lasted about 15 mins, it was mad.

FT on tilt, bit early or late for any railers, i would imagine back soon with result.

4TH for $345, another frustrating end to a tourney shoved 22 into 89, he has to do it the hard way and get the straight on the river, still knocking on the door.

FT OF $4K Gteed, result to follow, just lost a flip for 40 bigs so 7/7 still got 20 bigs though, fighters chance.

Sigh 5th for £345 another frustrating final table, lose a flip for 2cd place chips, then miss with aq no draws cant call shove, then get it in A 10 v kj flop 2 pair villain hits straight, yawn.

Bankroll now at $2947.48, remember this can go down as well as up.

Ok after todays result bankroll on tilt stands at $3438, todays result got us out of a losing month but got to be happy with a plus $500 month, I did run golden in the last tournament but it makes up for the rubbish for the previous months games.

First prize was $1300 and second $850, decided to deal as we were close and I was deep in a stars comp so wouldn"t have full concentration in the heads up. I got $1063 for a $26 game, not too shabby.

OPR Stats this month 12/55 itm 22% $1757 won 40% roi net profit $506.

Incidentally got to the final table of the Stars $6k gtee get AA first hand of ft, reraise utg raiser he flats with A2 flop 922, gg me, got $96 for that.

Finished 6/777 for $839.16, frustrating as exit hand was QQ V A6, an ace binked the turn, cant complain though had a few dirty suck outs earlier, bank roll now stands at $4157.

Also finished 43/850 on Stars for $75, was chip leader most of the way in that one then ran qq into kk, 99 into k7 and ak didn"t get there v qq, as my job was to double up the shorties I thought I done my duty well.

Being the bankroll nit I am I can now probably take the odd $100 game as a shot take. I tend to try and play with 5% of roll on any given day so this is now a chance to have a go, the big ben at 4pm seems a likely candidate, will see how it goes during the week.

2 wins including one chop, the rest have been close but no cigars, top 9 finishes and min cashes, bubbled the final table of the early fiddy yesterday 9 paid finished 10th, 10 10 was no good against the mighty j8, that was very annoying.

Checked opr this morning and stats since January are

Prizes won $7381
Net Profit.  $2381
Roi.            46%
Itm.           41/238 17%

Volume way to low tbh but as said in original post I was never going to grind multi tables as circumstances at home don"t allow for it.

Bankroll standing at $4k today that includes all edge rewards, plus I have accumulated loads of points which have been used as tourney buy ins, effectively freerolling them.

I still don"t play much cash, occasionally the odd rush 30 minute session either go for a double up or leave, then use that for mtt buy ins, for some reason I go on tilt too easy when I play cash, tourney bad beats just go over my head don"t get annoyed by them any more, the more bad beats I receive the more I am playing correctly and eventually it will turn around.

Sngs have dried up completely in the afternoon when I play, so its difficult to put volume in which is required for these things, plus if I check the lobby and 3/4 players are tagged red ie decent then I dont bother with them as it tends to be who gets lucky with their shove/ call ranges at the end.

As a general rule of thumb I only play with 5% of roll on any given day as I am a bankroll nit, it"s probably why I dont win big or conversely lose big, it"s still a hobby for me and I don"t think I could ever or want to play it for a living I just don"t have the mental fortitude as I couldn"t stand the swings involved especially in mtts.

Starting to waffle now, see you at Lucy"s on Saturday.

FT early fiddy, back soon with result.

Sigh, pushed AJ, someone always wakes up behind with AK, didn"t bink.

$320 for 5th, cashed in a $26 one as well for $41 both were effective free rolls as I had purchased tourney tickets with points, got 1 freeroll ticket left.

Bankroll $4007, slightly down from last week as been on a downward slide.

Finished 5/556 for $867 called a shove with aq he had ak, they always do, got to be happy with that though as I was really short stacked early but got back into it, it can be done, also cashed in the big $55 on stars for $165, that"s 3 cashes on the trot in that one, one day Rodney.

Bankroll $4438, been losing a bit the last week but we are now a high for the roll.

I won a sat today for the Benjamin today ($109) but that didn"t end well, I actually tried to get 2cd place in the sat. It was $90 cash so could buy in to 4 smaller games but I ran really well when I wasn"t bothered lol.

Bankroll $4443.88, that just got us back to were we were  2 days ago.

Luck on Final tables is missing at the minute.

Seen as though I am logged in and not sure if I will be playing tomorrow, been a poor performance in my last 20 mtts havent cashed in any, going through hand histories just getting unlucky at the wrong time, a few games I shouldn"t of played, just logged in regged a load even though I wasn"t in the mood so got to cut that out of my game, sometimes I just have too much time on my hands, play when I want to, not just play for the sake of it.

Bankroll peaked at $4423, but now stands at $4100 so half way through this stake we are doing ok.

Used all my points up now for free entries, but moved up to the next level for edge rewards(must check for any free rolls or special offers for these, may be giving up a chance of free cash).

Qualified via super turbos for 75/100 mtts but didn"t get far in these, still not playing cash at any massive volume, wil play the odd zoom session for mtt buy ins again it"s win a buy in lose a buy in, haven"t got the temprement for long term cash games.

Start again on Monday.

Couldn"t get the elusive double up before ft, jammed small pairs into min raises people folding from 15 bigs, pretty surprised at how passive this was considering it was a $100 mtt.

Its a totally different game to Stars, still got to be happy with a $700 ish day, but cant help thinking what might of been.

For clarity, are you restricting this to just satellites and we have our equivalent share in the events with zero share in any added value?

I"m more than happy with this btw, just think staking should be crystal clear from the outset.

If I qualify for anything via the sats and win anything live then all percentages as in original stake, added value would go to me sponsorship, holidays etc, long way off to worry about that though, (if we are lucky enough to be involved near the end will have a chat with all involved), may play the standard I poker mtts as well depending what they are like again this would just add to the roll.

I would like to play at least one of £100 summer series even if I dont sat in, either live or online depending upon my availability of getting down there for Day 2 if I did manage to qualify, depending how things go this could just be a month long sweat.

Hope this answers your question, if not you know where I am.

Been a while, managed a 2cd for $642 in a $10 rebuy today, in for $40 so decent return.
Bankroll now $5200 on tilt, obviously been losing a bit the last week or so,nice to get it back.

Played 4 sats for golden chips final tabled 3 no chips though, money back twice.

Nb we all owe Betty and Leslie two fishies from the G a drink, as it was their poor calls which lead me to be home for the rebuy, not bitter just saying.

Bankroll standing at $5k as of today, we peaked at $5800 but have dropped back to $5k the last 2 weeks of July have been a bit yuk to say the least.
I havent cashed in my last 20 mtts which although isnt my worst run its been very dissappointing and confidence is a bit low.

i have had a quick scan through my exit hands in my last 20 mtts and in at least 12 of these villain has woke up with AA or KK either me calling or me shoving, all part of the fun.

As indicted in original post i was hoping to fund most mtts via sngs but these dont run that often and are usually reg filled so volume is the key in these things and i dont really fancy grinding them, plus they dont fill up very quickly at the $20 level.

I think sng wise a lot of people are playing the 6 max super turbos which do seem to fill up quite quickly, there may be a bit of skill in these things, push/fold ranges etc but any edge can soon be lost just by not running good for a few games and tilt can be induced fairly quickly.

i have played a bit of zoom cash but have been coolered early on in these things sets into straights, big pairs into bigger pairs, blah blah.

I am still not a fan of cash and if i lose  1 buy in early i cant be bothered chasing it back or losing more buy ins, only 25/50 level so not totally spewing it away.

My current roll gives about 190 buy ins at the $26 mtt buy ins which is my usual buy in plus play $11 tourneys along side these.

I was thinking about withdrawing some cash mainly as a small reward for the 6 months profit and with Nottigham coming up at the end of the month use Poker winnings for poker buy ins.

My initial thoughts were if i withdrew $2000, this would leave us with a $3k roll to use until December, approx 115 buy ins for $26 mtts.

Me     $1K  - $10  =$990             £653.07 - £6.53   (50%).
Phil   $200 - $2    = $198            £130.61 - £1.30   (10%)
Ger    $200 - $2   = $198            £130.61 - £1.30   (10%)
Leigh  $200 - $2   = $198           £130.61 - £1.30   (10%)
Dave   $100 - $1   = $99            £65.31  - £0.65   (5%)
Stuart $100 - $1   = $99            £65.31  - £0.65   (5%)
Steve  $100 - $1   = $99            £65.31  - £0.65   (5%)
Adrian $100 - $1   = $99            £65.31  - £0.65   (5%)

Apats 1% =     $20                            £13.07

I can transfer back to Stars or Tilt if you have an account or if you want it back to Bank Account would need details.

I will take the 1% of everyone and pay Apat their cut.

I did want it to run the full year until December but i need a few quid to put into the household budget just to give that a little boost.

At least this way we all get our initial stake back and a small profit so we are free rolling for the rest of the year, if it does go belly up we have made a bit.

This is not an excuse to spew it all off by the way, will still be playing with decent bankroll management, i am hoping to at least get back to $5k minimum by December, hope for a lot more but being realistic its a target to aim for.

If you let me know how you want paying asap i will either withdraw the cash and pay into Banks or can transfer to Stars in the next couple of days depending upon limits, not sure how much i am allowed to pass around.

Any questions ask away or pm me, cheers.

+100

Agree with Phil and not cashing in 20 MTT"s is totally standard and nothing to worry about at all, it does not even come close to qualifying as a downswing.

Keep going, have plenty of faith in you whatever the results - awesome display so far.

If you want to draw $1k to go on DTD APAT and whatever else etc then go for it and pay us as proposed or adjust  %ages accordingly?

The roll will still be plenty big enough for the purpose

Bankroll now $4500.

Ok downswing continues on Full Tilt current roll is now $4364, I know last month I offered to pay every one a bit out and continue on a reduced roll and this was declined and I went with the majority and decided to plod on.

However, whilst going over my accounts last night I stumbled on a situation with a credit card company who have been charging me interest on a balance transfer which was zero interest for 12 months, I contacted said company today and ongoing conversations have indicated that they are not prepared to correct the matter and will continue to charge interest so I need to pay this debt off as soon as possible, ( got this loan to help my son out who is paying it back), obviously the interest rate is mad on a credit card so the repayments are not biting into the debt. I will be taking this further and will be attempting to get the interest back, I know I am in the right as I had a zero balance when I took out this offer, they are disputing it, only managed to speak to customer service rep this morning who I think was in a stroppy mood and decided she wasn"t going to help and just took the company stance, ( have worked in this industry and understand her position so I have no qualms with her but I am quite confident I will get the cash back). it"s only £75 interest so not life changing sums, I just hate paying interest on these things, plus don"t want this debt still continuing in 3 years time when it was for 12 months initially.

This stake is due to finish on Dec 1 as per original post so we still have Sept/Oct/Nov to try and win a bit more.

What I want to do is withdraw $2500 which will leave us with $1864 to use for the next 3 months.

Payouts would be as below

Me     $1250  50%.    £791.55
Phil    $ 250  10%.      £158.35 (katiethefish).
Ger    $250    10%.     £158.35 (have bank details will ship when it hits bank).
Leigh  $250   10 %.    £158.35 (Chipaccrual).
Dave  $125.      5%.        £79.18 ( have bank details will ship when it hits bank)
Stu.     $125.      5%.       £79.18 (fatcatstu).
Ste.     $125.      5%.       £79.18 (33teetwo33).
Adrian $125.     5%.      £79.18 (Adicricket1).

We will owe Apat 1% of profit which is $25 which I will sort out.

Even though I have had a pretty poor last 6 weeks, at least if we take a bit out now we have made a bit and we are freerolling the rest of the year,  you can all go and treat yourselves to a new hat or something.

Also if I withdraw it might re engage God Mode and might get back to winning ways, apparently thats true when you do a withdrawal, I read it online somewhere, or do you continue to lose ?, its one or the other.

Can transfer on Stars or Full Tilt, not sure what my limits are so might be a few days if I have to space them out or I can withdraw the lot and work out the percentages in pounds, can pay Phil, stu, Dave in cash when I see them or will need bank details if people prefer, just let me know either on here or via pm and will get sorted asap, also confirm the names on Stars above if that is preferred method of transfer.

The credit card situation has forced my hand a bit here but it is in the back of my mind that we could end up exactly were we started last year and I am not too keen for that to happen, go and treat yourselves or try and spin it up yourselves, gl, gl, gl, also thanks for the support in this downswing, in the great scheme of things it"s prob standard in mtts but not being a pro or multi table grinder may as well get a bit out to supplement home finances whilst in profit.

I have sent $125 to Steve, $125 to Adrian and $250 to Leigh via Pokerstars, hopefully these funds will have reached you by this morning

I have bank details of every one else except Phil who I will contact and  get details from, as soon as cash gets to my bank will transfer the cash over, said 24/48 hours, just so it doesn"t affect my ocd will round up to the nearest pound so will be £160 for 10% and £80 for 5.

The run good switch was almost activated tonight, finished 54/1077 in the triceratops for $70, lost AQ V KJ, then the last 20 bigs went AK v JJ, both an ace and jack on the flop.

I also owe apat $25, the 1% fee, Where do I need to send this too, any info gratefully received.

Bankroll $1960.

Cheers Mark, it has been hard these last two months, my worst ever downswing, even though it was with money won you do wonder where the next win is coming from.

Read luckyscrotes staking thread on Blonde, that is proper grinding, he does it for a living, me I am just a rec who maybe one day runs golden in a big one, thanks for reading.

Bri

Your success this year has been unreal mate, well happy for ya (and us obv lol). Are you planning on running another one next year or just taking the cash you made on this stake and starting your own? If you don"t mind me asking (ignore me if you do or tell me it"s none of my business) why would you be staked, you don"t need the staking $$$ and it seems like just giving money away? Is it just that it helps with discipline or something like that? This has to be the best value stake request I have seen on any board this year.

Also how many tables do you play at once? I know you are not a massive multi-tabler which make this all the more impressive.
Title: Re: Tentative Enquiry.
Post by: Erimus on September 29, 2013, 14:15:05 PM
The reason for the staking thread was a few things.

At the end of each year I withdraw all cash from all poker sites and spend what is on there at Christmas etc, never normally a lot  as I do withdraw a bit during the year if I have won.

With Full Tilt re starting I always liked that site I didn"t want to start with $300, my average mtt buy in is $20 and obviously that can go quite quickly.

I thought $1k was ok to start with but thought I would apply for the stake so I couldn"t withdraw and like you said see how it goes for the full year, as you know I did withdraw some, personnel circumstances dictated that plus I was on a long losing streak and didn"t fancy breaking even for the year, never lost $1k5 before on the trot, even though we were still in front it still felt like I was losing, poker can mess with your head.

The one thing I have is time to play as you know my circumstances at home dictate I have a lot of free time as a rule I will play 3 tables at the most, if Susan needs me to do something wouldn"t want loads of tables just bleeding away. With having loads of free time I could easy spend $200 a day on buy ins and be bust within a week so I have to be disciplined in how much I play.

With the amount of time I could try and grind loads of games but I find it does affect my mood if I Am losing which in mtts is more often than not.

I do dabble a bit on cash but not a great deal, if I win or lose a buy in that either dictates whether I play an extra mtt or not.Disappointed that the sng traffic on Tilt is non existent except for hyper turbos but that is to much like gambling

This month I have only played about 35 games which is one a day which is not grinding, the result the other day halted the downswing but I think we peaked at $5800 so still a bit down from that but we are freerolling the next 2 months so I am happy with that.

As said above read luckyscrotes staking thread on blonde, that is a proper grind with big downswings and upswings as well, he is a pro with a fantastic attitude both mentally and with skills in the game.

As for a stake next year I very much doubt it will decide late December, incidentally had a stake in Stars with some mates but that went this month, again losing $100 a month playing mtts is nothing to fret about, it"s a hobby and was really close to one or 2 big hits as well but wasn"t to be.

Any other questions just fire away.

It"s been 2 years so Vegas is now on the horizon again and have decided to take the plunge.

When I started this stake it was due to run to 01/12/13, any profit used for Christmas etc, this is my normal thing  I withdraw all cash from poker sites and restart in January with a fresh deposit.

Dates for Vegas are from 06/11/13 to 15/11/13 thus leaving only 2 weeks to finish the stake off.

The current roll on Tilt stands at $2250 and I would like to offer the two options below, I will withdraw $2045 leaving $200 in just to play a few games over the next few days, tbh not feeling the love for online at the minute and if I have little on there it will force me to take a month or  2 off, this will help to refocus when I start again in the new year, will still take the last $200 seriously and hopefully get a bink or two.

Option 1:

Brian   $1000
Phil     $200
Ger.     $200
Leigh.  $200.
Dave.   $100
Stuart.  $100
Adrian  $100
Steve.   $100
Apat.     $45.( this includes Apats 1% from previous and this withdrawal).

Can transfer via Stars or to bank, would need Leighs, Adrain"s and Steves details, the rest I have details for just let me know preferred  method.
I could also pay out in $$$ in Vegas to Ger, Ste and Stuart.

Option 2 :

When I go to Vegas my main thing will be poker, I am not keen on table games but will be having one or two nights away from poker, need a few pai gow lessons as this seems to be the game of choice.

Below is the schedule I intend on doing, It may be a bit ambitious and does depend on morale and how I am feeling but I think I will be playing at least 5 of the 7 days.

08/11/13 Binnions          2pm      $100
09/11/13 C palace          2pm.     $ 82.50 (Apat) (2 day)
10/11/13 Venetian ds     12pm.   $460 (dependant whether make day 2 of Apat).(2 day)
11/11/13 Aria.                1pm      $150 (poss 1 reentry)and/or
11/11/13 C Palace.        7pm      $140.
12/11/13 Bellagio           2pm      $130 (poss 1 reentry)and/or
12/11/13 Aria.                 7pm      $150
13/11/13 C Palace.         12pm    $140 (poss 1 reentry)and/or
13/11/13 stratosphere.    6pm     $195 ( heartland tour event)
14/11/13 Wynn                12pm   $150 (poss 1 reentry)and or
14/11/13 Aria                   7pm     $150.

The above = $1847.50 not including reentries, will only reenter if coolered early, initial thoughts are play the afternoon game at wherever and if bust mid game play the evening game at other venue listed, or the same game at the same venue if feeling lazy, if I have to reenter the first mtt, it will be unlikely I will play the evening game. There is $152.50 left from the $2k starting stake, this will be used for taxis between events, again will record everything down.

There are a couple of 2 day events in there and depending upon making Day 2 of either of those this will have a knock on effect on subsequent tournaments

The likelihood is I will not play the entire schedule due to tiredness morale and one or 2 nights/days away from the poker.

I will keep it all updated via blog or on this thread, percentages will be the same as initial stake.

I have offered Carl a small stake, he asked when I first proposed I was going to Vegas this will be taken from my 50%.

My record in Vegas last time was played 7 mtts, cashed in 4, including a chop in an Aria comp for $1800ish, obviously a tiny sample and variance might bite me on the backside and brick the lot, which to be honest is the most likely scenario as is the case in most mtts,  but I thought we may as well go out with a bang rather than lose a load in a drab fashion on Full Tilt.

If you can let me know as soon as possible as I can open it up but will give you guys the first opportunity.

I will keep buy in funds separate from general spending and if we return with anything will redistribute on return.

In a nutshell $2k worth of mtts in a week, sod Christmas, didn"t want anything anyway.

Any questions just fire away.

We have a full house for Vegas, everyone still in, thanks for the vote of confidence.

Ok people just for clarity we withdrew $2000 09/10/13 which was £1248.71 we paid Apat £30 (this was $25 and $20, Apats 1% of the two withdrawals, rounded to £30),Carl has added his £60, so in total we have £1278.71 which I have converted to dollars today and received $2000 was a bit less but rounded up for ease of Maths.

Everyone has the same percentage as original post except me who now has 45%, Carl has the spare 5%.

The proposed schedule can be seen above but it is liable to change, have found out there is a Venetian deepstack on the Monday as well as the Sunday so there could be a bit of chopping and changing.

Will update on here which games i play and any significant points of interest, on return any funds left will be returned by peoples preferred option, let"s run good for one week, go out in a blaze of glory hopefully, gl us.

As for Full Tilt the final $200 went in pretty mundane fashion, a series of non cashes in mtts finished it off, not even a sweat anywhere, the joys of mtts.

Only online stuff I expect to play before Vegas will be sats to Dtds £300 next week, will still be playing locally live and hope the live run good will continue to the end of November.

Cheers for the initial stake, enjoyed it as for next year not sure yet, will be formulating a plan after Vegas, really enjoying the live stuff at the minute, (easier when winning), online still a bit of a chore towards the end,( again losing doesn"t help the mindset).

I very much doubt I will play any cash over there, if I do this will be on my own dollars and is not included in the above, as said will detail all the mtts I play and we are starting at $2k so it"s easy to track.

The very best of luck Brian, but with Carl " godlike " Pilgrim now on board how can you possibly lose??

Shall be the finest Lamvino for Christmas Day!!  ;D

It"s been a rollercoaster....

Again the best of luck in the mighty Vegas.

I will assume you have read the blog, done the lot unfortunately, played 11 games average buy in $200  the 2 deepstacks were $800 so that in increased the average.

Made 2 fts and got 1 bounty so obviously no returns, slightly miffed but its the nature of the beast, played ok and happy with most decisions made, it just wasn"t to be.

Cheers for initial stake and giving me the opportunity to play a couple of the Venetian deepstacks.

                                      THE END

Nb Katrina sends her love (only kidding)

Not sure why you played the last tourney...

Thank you for a really good year of sweats which doubled our money and gave us the added bonus of sweating your Vegas adventure.

Looking forward to your next tentative enquiry.

I"m absolutely fuming.

You"ve done the whole lot with no returns ?

Can"t believe you didn"t take the Katrina option.  Really poor decision making.   ;D

Many, Many thanks for the run Brian.  It"s been a blast.

I"m already forming an orderly queue for 2014  ;)
