To make the numbers work, I am changing the stake to a mark-up of 1%, ie selling at 1.01.

0.5%   = 10 c
0.75% = 15c
1.0%   = 20c
1.25% = 25c
1.5%   = 30c
1.75% = 35c
2.0%   = 40c
2.25% = 45c
2.5%   = 50c

The existing stakers can reconsider their position and withdraw if they wish.

This is a bit out of my bankroll John.  Have you played many tournaments with this level of buyin before ?

Also, a little bit about your poker experience, perhaps a llink to your Hendon Mob Profile and certainly a link to your OPR for your Stars account would be greatly appreciated by potential stakers.

When they are making investment decisions at this type of level, the more information they have, the more likely you are to get this filled.

Good luck though, win it all.

Dont agree with the mark up - essentially paying you a salary to ROFL about in some poker tournaments. Also have you made up the names of the poker variants? Stud? Badugi? Next you will be telling us you get dealt more than two cards!

Suspect its a grim attempt but as its you, I will take the max. Wont be able to ship until late tonight.

Can"t believe we"ve no had an update on this yet. The first scheduled tournament started at least 2 minutes ago.

To charge a mark-up of 1.01 and then not give us the sweat on such a large investment will make me think twice next time.

haha - it only has 4 runners, and none of them is called minttrav ;)

was gonna play the triple stud, but not if the headcount is only gonna be single figures

Triple Stud was cancelled due to lack of runners. It had two signed up - myself and John :)

8 playing the Stud in the end. I usually play a bit later than this & we get anything from 20 to 70 runners in these things.

The Stud has been crap in the short time it has been going. So far, I have had the best hand outdrawn 5 times. Down to 825 chips from 2500 - 8/8.

Not to worry, the Badugi has just started with 15 - still 10 mins late reg if you fancy it.

Whatever the other one was that I entered has been cancelled due to lack of interest.

This is bad. Currently tailed off in both.

28/29 in the Badugi and 7/8 in the Stud (the 8th is out).

I have won the game at the snooker club before, but unfortunately it doesn"t run any more.

You are better off having missed this effort. I"ve been golden in these games for the past couple of weeks and tonight it has all gone sideways. A well-deserved 26/29 and 6/8 so far.

It"s been a horrible night of outdraws. At least a dozen so far. This always happens whenever I move up in stakes.

Three of my bad beats were in the WH freeroll - would anyone like to hear about them?

8/29 in the 2-7 (5 paid). A significant improvement on the other games.

On the bright side, we will get some return from the cancelled games at least

Don"t bank on it. I"ve been substituting, ala Tesco Home Delivery. Currently playing a $2.20 Triple Stud, $2.20 2-7 and $3.30 HORSE. Doesn"t stop the outdraws coming thick and fast though. Just flopped top set in the Holdem part of the HORSE and................ oh never mind.

Title: Re: Big Buy-In Tournaments on Stars
Post by: MintTrav on June 22, 2013, 20:48:37 PM
Actually, Rodders, I exercised careful bankroll management today by moving down in stakes. There were a couple of tasty-looking $5.50 Stud and Triple Stud games earlier but, with our reduced balance, I thought it was too risky to put that much on one game, so I am sticking to $2 games for now. If we crash here, I may have to move down further til I find the right level.

I have only played two games today so far.

$2.20 8-game - 6 paid.  19/55.   Cash $0
$2.20 Badugi  - 4 paid.    4/23.   Cash $4.60

So that"s bumped our balance up to $9.20.

Prob do a few later.

You"re in. Please send whatever you can - every little helps.

The situation improved a bit on Sunday, cashing 4/37 in a Triple for $7.40, which brought us back a little. Despite the cash, this one was actually a bit of a disaster. With a dozen left, I was a distant CL with 33k, second and third were on 11k and the rest were nowhere - and I still contrived somehow to come 4th. Still CL with four left, but misfired a few times. Aggression got it and aggression lost it. $27 for 1st would have put us in a good position.

So, up to $11, but blanked in two $2, so we"ve got $6.60 in our account now.

PS - I don"t know where you got the idea that this is fun. There is no fun involved. There is failure, frustration and humiliation. Or perhaps that is your idea of fun.

You"re confused? Not as confused as me. I was having an amazing run in these $2 and $5 games. The minute I put up this thread it stopped and I min-cashed in two from about ten games. I haven"t played for several days now, but I had managed to relose down to $2.20 left of the original roll. Haven"t checked to see if anything extra has arrived to refinance but I"ll check tonight and clarify the situation.

Anyone who wants to send me money is welcome to do so. I will be delighted to lose it on your behalf. Don"t expect anything back.

even very confused

is this a real staking request thread? or are we just all giving you 50 cent, even without getting anything back when you win?

And is it still going? If so I take the maximum, and will ship you 50 cent, I not mind you loosing it on my behalf as long you have fun with it  :D

I need you to lose my dollar in the most epic way possible. Please follow these steps:-

1) Enter Sunday Spark
2) Win Sunday Spark
3) with winning fly to Vegas and enter Main Event
4) Win main event
5) Blow all winnings on Beer, Casino War and Strippers
6) Return the undisputed Hero of all APAT hero"s

I would consider that an acceptable way to lose my dollar.

Thank you very much.

I haven"t played any of these for about a week, which is unusual cos I quite often play them every night, but I was away at the weekend and haven"t felt in the mood since. I"ll have another spurt soon. The exact time will be when I feel like it.

The staking is nicely mixed now. I could try to lose the balance of the original and then start afresh with the new receipts being a new stake, but that would be far too clean and simple. Instead I will amalgamate the various receipts into percentages of a combined roll and go forward from there, so anyone who has shipped is still a stakeholder.

The one thing I guarantee is that, either way, you will lose your investment. No-one will get any of it back. Be clear, when you send me cash, that you will never see any of it again.

Okay, the address to send to is the usual one on Stars. Thank You.

This really is to funny
and very chaotic and really all very confusing, i do not even know if the stake is now 1dollar or 50cent lol

however as it seems it anyway does not matter, and that no one will get any money back not even when you win, or whatever

i sended you 1 dollar for the fun of it, and to have the honour to be a staker in the most chaotic staking request, well if it deserves the name at all.

enjoy loosing them  :-*

Lost interest for a bit, but played one tonight for the first time in at least a fortnight. $2.20 Triple Stud, 40 runners. Got to HU against Erneus, who went deep in a few mixed games in the WCOOP, with at least one FT, so a bit surprising to see him in this, but no surprise he was there at the end. I got the win eventually, so that is $29.60 into our account.

We were just about bust before the recent replenishments, so this should get our heads back above sea level and allow us to have a few shots at things when I get some interest going again.

Playing a $2 Budugi-Woogie atm. Going okay so far but a long way to go [38 still in]. I"ll work out people"s shares of what we have later.

Anything I play in the MicroMillions is not part of the stake.
Title: Re: Big Buy-In Tournaments on Stars
Post by: MintTrav on July 21, 2013, 02:34:11 AM
Just checked my Stars history. I hadn"t really realised that so many people were part of this. I received cash from ten people:

50c:
David
Phil
Jo
Stu
Myles
Carl
Mark

$1:
Steve
Stu
Gina

Not received anything from Shaz. You can still send if you wish.

To make it simple I will equate $1 to 5% and 50c to 2.5%, though it doesn"t really matter as nothing will be returned to stakers.

I had lost almost all of it before catching $29.60 a couple of days ago. Since then, I have played two x $2+$.20 without cashing, so we have about $25.

Dear John

Is this stake busto yet and can we reload. Have you spun the moneys up to an amount that would make a suitable grim. I expect you to spin to at least £1000 before you grim us, which is perfectly acceptable under the conditions of the stake. Please do an update as I want to get grimed for lot"s.

If you go busto we can always reload.

Haven"t played them since I last posted, Steve. Before I put up this stake, I was playing all the time and crushing - 46% ITM at them for the first half of June. As soon as I started this thread, I started missing all the time and lost all the stake and almost all the second lot. In the end I recovered to about even and haven"t played them since, mainly cos they weren"t going as planned and I lost interest. I will resuscitate this stake at some point, probably in the week after the UKOAP. Everyone"s current holding is roughly the amount they put in (slightly more) but, as you say, there is no point in being turned over for 50c - you need to lose more than that to make it worthwhile.
Title: Re: Big Buy-In Tournaments on Stars
Post by: MintTrav on October 06, 2013, 23:46:55 PM
I really haven"t given this thread much attention for some time. I lost interest when I stopped winning the $1 and $2 games, so I stopped playing them. However, I played a $5 Badugi game a couple of weeks ago and won it for $50. I realise that this game was outside the bankroll rules for this stake, but I just fancied taking a shot at the big money. I can scratch the cash from the bankroll if anyone thinks I shouldn"t have played it. $50 - $5.50 = $44.50.

I played just two games last week and lost the $2.20 and $5.50. I also played a few occasional other games in the couple of weeks before that, probably about five, so 5 x $2.20 = $11. No cashes that I remember.

Tonight, I played a $2.20 Badugi, where I came 11/44 for zilch and a $1.10 Stud Hi game on Full Tilt, where you could have multiple entries and merge your stacks. I had two entries, but didn"t merge on account of one getting busted. In the end I finished 2/74 for $23.

We had $25, so I make it that we now have $25 + $44.50 - $7.70 - $11 - $2.20 + $20.80 = $69.40.

I"ll try to get to $100 and then can this stake.
