I"ve mentioned in a previous post somewhere about having never kept notes on players. Although I am sure that I do have thoughts on players in my head when I play against them, and therefore to a certain extent I am actually profiling them as I go, it is something that I give little conscious thought to.
What sort of information do you include on your player notes ?
How many instances of a particular situation do you need to see before you will attribute a trait to a player ?
Do you have a particular system you use (coding, pigeon holing profiles, colours) ?
Maybe I should ask what notes you all have on me ? ;D Although I"m not sure I could profile my own play myself ;D

Page open to reply and the voice in my head is screaming, " keep it short" ;D
For tournies a good start would be to label players....
- loose aggro
- Tight aggro
- loose passive
- tight passive
- rock
If a rock or passive player makes an aggressive action, beware! and of course vice versa.
Some traits I note as exploitable.....
Steal steal steal and don"t play big pots versus his blind.
- folds to cb too often / limp calls preflop.
These two tendencies are often found as a pair but not exclusively. Isolate this cash cow frequently.
Wide 3b bluff or wide 3b for value depending on how player responds to 3b"s
- Opens too wide from early position.
3b"s versus early position opens get lots of respect.
Pay close attention and note how a player plays his monster hands, it is extremely valuable to be able to confidently rule out two pair, sets or greater from our opponents likely holdings. I could go on here but I"m sure you get the picture.
Cliffs:
Think about tendencies you can exploit, note them and remember, they are only useful if you act on them!

My notes on you are that you were a regular at APAT events, accurate with your descriptions of key hands and know the names of lots of people. You had a weekness in ensuring that player chip counts equalled the total chips in play. Not much else.

Thanks Brendan, all useful stuff.
It"s a really tough area to get started on. I"ve watched and played against loads of APATers over the years. Not sure how many I could correctly stick in a category.
You had a weekness in ensuring that player chip counts equalled the total chips in play. Not much else.
I knew that was a leak in my game :D
