(if you don"t already have the APAT/Coral software, download from here: http://www.apat.com/online)

Hi Sports Fans :)

With just over a week until the start of World Cup 2014, APAT have put together a fun sweepstake with a couple of twists :)

I"ve set up a holding tank via the APAT software for £10 + £0 (no rake). Holding tank is listed until Coral Exclusive > APAT as "APAT World Cup". The password is: apatmember.  It is open until 19:30 on Weds 11th June, after which time I"ll randomly draw the teams and post them here.

Total prizepool: £320 (based on 32 players).

Winner of World Cup = £100
Runner up = £40
3rd = £20
4th = £10

Wooden spoon = £10 Team with least points / worst goal difference between tied teams.

£140 prizepool MTT on Monday 14th July (day after the final). This will be open to all sweepstake entrants , so everyone has a chance of winning something, regardless of how rubbish their team is! :D

In the event of less than 32 players, prizes and MTT prizepool with be calculated pro-rata (with a minimum payout for the sweepstake part of £10). Payouts will be guaranteed £207.50 minimum, regardless of number of runners.

I take it that because it has to be set up in a certain way that it isn"t a single hand tournament...?

Also.... Why not have a look at this....

Hi, I"ve created a private league at Soccer Saturday Super 6 for the new football season. Do you fancy your chances against me? Join the league now: http://super6.skysports.com/league/109M2G

Hi Bill, the game you register for now is just a holding tank to collect entry fees. The MTT following the World Cup will be set up nearer the date. Format of this will be 3k start stack, 10 min levels.

Holding tank closes next Weds after which point I"ll draw the sweepstake teams and get them posted up.

Would be good if we can get a full 32 involved. If less, I"ll dispense with the lower seeded teams, and if one of those goes on to win, will add that cash to the MTT instead.

In order to put everyone"s mind at rest re: fairness of draw, I propose the following:

Once we have a list of all players taking part, I"ll get one of the participants to randomly to draw a number (1 to 32, or 1 to number of players if less than 32) for each participant. If they then PM that list to a 3rd participant, I"ll draw a team against each number, and PM that list to the 3rd participant. They can then email me the list of players in return, and I"ll post it all up together.

Need 2 volunteers for this method to work, who both need to be around from 7.30pm > 8.30pm on Weds 11th June. Thanks :)

In and happy to help out......Im working Weds night but can easily answer a PM within about 10-15 mins......just couple things:

1) What happens if doesn"t sell out with 32 players re the payouts?
2) Im assuming that the "Teams so far" bit above is again in case it doesn"t sell out and only top seeded teams will go into hat?.....what happens then if a non-entered team goes on and wins it?

If u want me to help out with draw Ill pm u my mobile Matt so can drop me a text when draw pm is on way so I know need to get online!!

Thanks Myles :) Matt C. (Sugar_Free) will PM you a list of players drawn in random order (and listed 1 to 32, or number of players if less). I"ll shoot you a text when he"s sent it. Then I"ll send a list of teams randomly drawn against the same numbers. When you"ve received my list, PM me the other list in return. I"ll then get it all posted up.

Would assume the same percentages to be used eg winner gets 5/16 of entries etc

Good point.

I actually didn"t make any provision for us not reaching 32 entrants, as thought that would be very unlikely. However, in the event that does happen I"ll pro-rata the prizes and MTT prizepool (but ensuring no prize in the sweepstake part is below £10), and guaranteeing the payouts as £207.50 regardless of number of runners.

Example:

What"s everyone"s predictions tonight? I"d like to see Argentina win, but think the result will be 3-0 / 4-0 Germany.

Germany have looked real World-beaters, whereas Argentina pretty poor/so-so - especially in their last 3 games...

I"m PMing tomorrow"s freeroll password out to all eligible players now. If you haven"t received it by 8pm tonight, then please PM me back, and I"ll reply with the password.

The freeroll was due to be £87.50, but rather than play for that fiddly amount, I"ve upped it to £100.

Registration will open when the game appears in the lobby at 8pm tonight. The game starts tomorrow at 8pm with 30 mins late reg. 3,000 stack, 10 min levels.

Game is now open for registraton. It is listed under "Tournaments" > "All". (quick tip: to find it quickly type "World" in the search box. It is the only tourney with that word in the title).

See you all tomorrow! Good luck!! :D

Coral seems to be by far the most difficult site to stay connected to for me. Very mysterious and very frustrating  :(

Thanks to all who played, was a great fun game played in a good spirit.

For the most part.....maybe someone had too much alcohol too early and too quickly.

A funny first half-hour too.

Priceless

Once again, thanks for organising all this Matt

It was our "friend" from lppl being rather carefree with both his chips and the rules

I missed the "controversy" with the rules cos as most I had lost connection hehe.. Regarding the "carefree" approach I was assured that this was the normal style that this particular player adopts all the time.. He was on my left and raised my big blind 6 consecutive orbits and I didn"t have one hand to defend..  Unlucky for him he got dissconected and blinded out (lucky for my blinds lol).. But on a whole it was a fab fun tourney, I will say that it was the one and only time I have been booted off I-poker since APAT have secured Coral as I know it is on the top tier of the network so I have no worries.. Must give a special shout out to Ed :) I won a AIPF v him and left him with 363 chips he made a awesome comeback of around 2k, I get booted and when I come back he is CL with 9k+ .. Spun that up to 22k.. Seemed to be a night of ups and downs with all micro stacks coming back and gaining CL, Colin also having a comeback of biblical proportions :) Q7 FTW..

Thanks again Matt look forward to next promo you an come up with.. (mixed games league please)..
