A hand from a MTT on Coral thoughts would be appreciated.
I"m on the button and blinds are 100/200
Folds round to the villain in HJ who has 7900 behind and raises to 600
I"m sat on Button with Kh 10h and call with roughly 7200
SB folds
BB with 5000 calls.
Flop 2h Ah 9h
BB checks
Villian checks
I bet 830, BB folds and villain insta calls.
Turn Qc
Villain checks
I bet 1300 and again insta call
River A s
Villian ponders then pushes all in

If he"s flopped a set then good luck to him, it"s tough to fold your hand there. Maybe bet bigger and charge him more to try and hit his draw ?

check/call, check/call, jam...... I rarely see this as much other than a hand that filled up. Hate my life with the nut flush now, but think this is a fold. Probably an easier fold live than online, but a fold nonetheless.

Have a horrible feeling he is gonna show you AQ most of the time here.
-
I would need a very good reason to fold here.
Of course he could have filled up but he may also be overestimating the value of 3 aces here as well.
Bet a bit more on turn so that an effective river shove would be easier.

if this villain in your opinion isn"t a calling station who calls with all sorts, a insta call on the flop by a solid sort could mean a good to strong hand... how quickly did he check to you on the turn?

or rather ask yourself if you could of bet bigger/jammed all in overbet [whatever] on the turn to get calls from his sets, 2pairs or worse flushes...

He checked pretty quickly to be honest on flop and turn but called just as quickly too.

Timing tells online mean nothing relevant imo (villans snap calling then taking longer could be many things). I would not fold this hand, even though i have a felling u called and lost because of the nature of the post.

One small point on this - rather than calling your way into the hand, perhaps if you 3bet your way in, the pot will be big enough to be able to get it in there and then if you hit hard like you did. You may also take it down pre, which with hands like KT is a decent result.

This hand has played out so weird imo. if he has a set i have no idea why he check calls this way, another heart comes and he has to fold, if anything id expect him to be more aggressive with it.
it feels like a fold, but it depends on the villan.
would he do this with smaller flushes. a bare trip aces ect?
i think your sizing is okay fwiw, the river is so awkward but i think you need to just take a deep breath and decide for yourself if you feel beaten or not by the dynamics of the table and the hands that the villain has shown up with.
His line does look pretty polarised though.
-
With these stacks and his raise size without antes, I"m folding pre.
As played, I"m not folding the river with that pot size and my stack.
-
I agree with luckyginger, if he flops a set he must bet here, with the hearts out, and 2100 in the pot.
If the Villain is an aggressive player, I"d call, maybe he has Ax or AK, or less trying to pick up chips. Its only 5k into a 6k pot.
Folding would depend on how passive the Villian is, if hes super passive then must be on AQ,QxQh,set, I"d still probably struggle to fold though. If it was 5k all in into a 3k pot I"d be folding (assuming he was very passive).
Adilong what did you do in the end? Did you fold? How far was it into the tourney?

In fact, ive been off for a week and had time to chill, ive just looked at this hand and i think its a call.
i dont know why he"d check check twice with anything, even say the second nut flush. (which we beat)
call off, if he has the house, let out a sigh and put it down to a very weird hand played.
Ive got a vague feeling this is kings or a hand of similar strength, he heros turn and then decides on the river you could well not have an ace with checking the flop and shoves.
i could be well off here.

I called, he had filled up 9s full.
And yes I let out a rather large sigh!! :"(

I thought that was call too. Strange...
