Title: Re: fantasy football league
Post by: scouse3465 on July 30, 2008, 22:01:59 PM
Would play fantasy football league !
But to be fair to do the one in the Sun would be totally wrong to any football fan!
Anyone old enough remember hillsbourgh, it not just cos liverpool could have been any team.
But very good idea for APAT tourney but please not the Sun!
I would do any other !

got an email from fantasy football today was going to look at this tommorrow. Had one last year, its free and you can do changes every week which is good, because paper sun/mirror etc are a little boring once you have your team

ill stick stuff on here tommorrow if people want, very easy to set up a league

Is probably the best free league out there. I am sure someone could set up an APAT league quite easily, be warned though you do have to make transfers every week! 1 per week.

Know the score on there isn"t too bad either!

If Warb will manage it here on the forum I"ll put up three APAT seats of differing values for the top three - providing we get a minimum of thirty entrants.  I"ll also set up a separate board and agree to promote the league to the base once we are organised.
Title: Re: fantasy football league
Post by: TopPair2Pair on July 31, 2008, 09:34:40 AM
The deadline for week 1 is Aug 15th so you may want to spread the word fast if you want 30 runners.

I am sure APAT would eventually generate more then 30 teams in the league but those that create a team after Aug 15th will effectively be starting without the points from game week 1 and be starting with a disadvantage!

Its worth a mention especially considering that I am the legend of http://fantasy.premierleague.com/ and have score soo many points in the past that they"ve had to increase the bandwidth on their website to contain my load!

Thats a good idea, but i think that may cause some people to post some stuff they dont need to, possibly the organiser should PM people the password for people who are members say before a certain date, but we have to make sure we dont exlude genuine members or make the forum look clicky !!

Bring it on, im going to ship this one, and I can see this being a very long thread by the end of the season..  ;D ;D

I will be entering a team also and donating the seat prize if I get a sniff of the top three.

Hi,

Another newbie from FISO here  :) - the word is indeed being spread to our small poker community.

Was introduced to APAT during the Blackpool event - thanks for the coverage guys/girls - looked like a great event and caused quite a stir on the forum when our boys did so well  :o - and while I wasn"t there in person I certainly was in spirit.

You"ve picked the best game, imo, to form a league in and, as Karrde says, it would be rude for some of us not to join  ;)

And if you think some poker players could be nitty, and in the interests of cross-forum harmony, why not join us at FISO and especially the sanitarium we call The FPL Forum (http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=18). Just remember that, as in poker, you can lead a horse to water ... etc  :)

Cheers and good luck for the season.

Team Name: No-Eye Deer

Join us at FISO and especially the sanitarium we call The FPL Forum (http://www.fiso.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=18).

Cant stress enough what a good idea this would be for you all.  A few minutes browsing this forum each week could be the difference for you.  Every fantasy football resource is on Fiso, and the FantasyPremierLeague.com sub forum, is first class and has some of the most helpful souls you could want.

Best of luck, and enoy.

Your bad feeling was justified - they were given a lesson in most areas of the pitch!!

And as for the dodgy keeper....!!

We are top of the league, say we are top of the league!!!

I decided to financially back my bad feeling, never normally back against United, but made some cash anyway.

Got what we deserved.

And glad to see my decision to transfer out the waste of space Adebayor, who had done nothing this season, paid off for me.  >:(

Was just of the opinion, we can"t keep being playing that bad against Liverpool and getting results.  It had to go Liverpool"s way one time, might aswell make some cash along the way.  Early days in the season, but it looks like it"s going to be a cracker with a few teams in the mix.

Obviously when Man City sign Torres, Ronaldo, Fabregas, etc, etc in January, it will be a bit of a leveller.  Think they got shown a lesson yesterday about playing with the big boys.   ::)

I think it would probably be easier to take the newcastle job instead.

so thanks but no thanks....

I would"ve taken this job to further my career but unfortunately I dont have the pro licence to be able to entertain such a pivotal opportunity...

Also I must confess I dont have the truck driving licence required to extract and traffic the quantities of larger you are looking for....

Wow top 7 very good ! but i bet you all have ronaldo i was doing ok until he came back lol !!
For the good of the fantasy football and for the good of football i am hopeful that for once when we all think he dives AGAIN it isnt and he has been caught!
I agree he is a great talent but it is such a waste on one who cheats and is so aragant!
And it is good to see ferguson is getting soft in his old age , when Beckham thought he was bigger than the club he went! bNow fergie bends over for ronaldo!
Thats my rant over prob not much to do with it but once started couldnt stop lol !!
Good luck all

I give up.

Sunday morning, thought I"d check my fantasy football team after my massive changes the other week.

Bought in Da Silva, the fullback from Man U.  What with Wes Brown"s injury and Neville"s lack of form, got to be worth a shout.

Man U have a couple of clean sheets, last two games, he"s played, so bring on the points.

Ahhhhhhhh,  that"ll be his identical twin brother who plays left back, that I"ve transferred in then, who actually hasn"t started a game for Man U yet.

And the playing Da Silva brother isn"t on the player list.   Fk my life.
