Welcome to Day 2 of the 10 day APAT World Championships of Amateur Poker at Aspers Casino, in Stratford.

Today sees the final day of Event #1, Pot Limit Omaha, Event 3 - Antes Only and Event #4 Open Faced Chinese Poker...it"ll be a busy one.

APAT have engaged the services of a top notch, reliable, professional updater today but since he"s not here, you"ll have to make do with me.

I"ll try my best to fill in where I can but, you know...if you pay peanuts....

Capacity 200 runners - 10k Stack - 30 Minutes - Ranking Points 1st-9th        
      
All players will post the required ante each hand of play.         
         
Pre Flop: Action will start with the player left of the dealer (button).  Players will act in turn having the option to fold,  Bring-In for the minimum amount as stated per level or raise - which can be any amount up to All In, with the minimum being double the amount of the bring in.  The remaining players will then have the option to call, raise or fold.         
         
Post Flop: Action will start with the player left of the dealer (button).  Players will act in turn having the option to check, bet (the minimum being the amount of the Bring-In or any amount up to all in).  The remaining players will then have the option to call, raise or fold.



#4 Sun 29th Mar - 19:00 Open Face Chinese Championship £50+£5


Capacity 32 Runners - 4 handed game.

(The original player cap of 32 may be possible to increase on the day)

Single card, not pineapple.  MTT balancing - NOT fantasyland.

MULTI-WAY SCORING - When playing 3 or 4-handed, the first player dealt cards (first to act or under the gun) settles with each successive player until all debts are paid. Then, second to act player settles with the others, and so on. If a player fouls their hand, they automatically owe 6 points to each of the other players plus any royalties owed. Again, all royalties in non-fouled hands are paid

While we were putting a cattle prod to the APAT hamster, we managed to lose three players.

Jayne Rowney - 12th

Adi & William went out in a 3 way hand - Adi had two paid, William bare aces but both we crushed by a flopped top set of Paresh Doshi  (again, I think...it all happen pretty fast).

PLO table is pretty quiet...Paresh Doshi is pushing his big stack around a little...about the only resistance is coming from Michael Perry who"s taken a couple of pots away from him.

Bradley Green takes a stand against the chip leader Paresh Doshi and current Champion.

Bradley has suited Aces (spades and clubs) but Paresh flops a ten high straight on an unsuited board.

Barring runner-runner it"s not looking good.

Paresh and Shan get at it.

Flop reads  10h  6h  2c  9s as I get to the table and Shan announces and all-in.

Paresh thinks for a brief instant and makes the call.

Paresh -  8d  3h  7s  Qh for the straight.

The river is an irrelevant  7d

Some back and forth between Paresh and Dorina but Paresh has a substantial chip advantage.

Of the 2m chips in play Dorina only has c.350k

We have two tables left in the Antes Only event and the OFC event has just got underway.

My experience of the latter is pretty poor so updates I might be able to offer are likely to be wrong, incomplete or wholly misleading.

I"ve been watching some of the OFC play and it still has me scratching my head.

I think I get it more than I did before but the points scoring is utterly beyond me at the moment.

My none poker playing followers prefer facebook than trying to follow on here as it works better on the phones...

Antes Only is proving interminable...still 11 left...including Mr Pilgrim (and Emma is not happy about it)


OFC got away with 33 and, apparently, is still running with that number (at least according to the tournament clock). It"s just moved to 300 a point so we should seem some bust outs soon.

MULTI-WAY SCORING - When playing 3 or 4-handed, the first player dealt cards (first to act or under the gun) settles with each successive player until all debts are paid. Then, second to act player settles with the others, and so on. If a player fouls their hand, they automatically owe 6 points to each of the other players plus any royalties owed. Again, all royalties in non-fouled hands are paid.

At 1000 a point and and average of 37k you"d have to think (in my ignorance)...that this should go pretty quickly.

On the other hand...2am is looking likely for the Antes Only.

The players are on a 15 minute break while we race off the smaller chips.

When play resumes it will be at 500 / 8000 with the average at 124k.

There will be 40k in the middle every hand now



Meanwhile in the OFD, we"re down to 7 players.

I think I"ll go watch for a while...you never know I might actually figure it out.

Really liked the structure of the Antes Only - hadn"t played it before with a bring in, normally just blinds but created a different dynamic but certainly was good fun!!!
